I was interested to read this after spending many years being irritated about being lectured about DEI, equality and other causes in the Californian companies I've worked for during the past decade。 Apart from being repetitive and boring it was weird to be "educated" about progressive causes by American capitalists。 This author makes some interesting points and I share his distaste for having causes sold back to us and concerns about ESG investing - amongst other things。 What spoils it is that t I was interested to read this after spending many years being irritated about being lectured about DEI, equality and other causes in the Californian companies I've worked for during the past decade。 Apart from being repetitive and boring it was weird to be "educated" about progressive causes by American capitalists。 This author makes some interesting points and I share his distaste for having causes sold back to us and concerns about ESG investing - amongst other things。 What spoils it is that the author is an American Conservative right-winger and so goes completely OTT about both the scale of the problems and the remedies。 This is ironic, because the author claims to desire American unity and an end to polarisation - but this just adds fuel to the culture war fire。 。。。more
