Firstly， this is well under my age， so the four stars is just because it was slightly young and boring for me。 However， it had a good fairy tale plotline so under 9s would enjoy this。 Well written， just a different age than me。

My four-year-old and I both loved this story and read it in one sitting。 He was a little confused at times， but we were caught up in the whimsy and fantasy of it all。 Reminded me a little of the Zoey Sassafras series。

This book is a treasure。 It is a book for children， but Jonathan Auxier is an amazing writer。 It is gripping from the beginning to end and so inventive that is is excellent fantasy。 This is a fine book。
