Summary

In this warmhearted romantic comedy, a mistaken identity leads to a blossoming romance between two boys。

Aoki has a crush on Hashimoto, the girl in the seat next to him in class。 But he despairs when he borrows her eraser and sees she’s written the name of another boy—Ida—on it。 To make matters more confusing, Ida sees Aoki holding that very eraser and thinks Aoki has a crush on him!

Aoki confesses his feelings to Ida and prepares for rejection, but in an unexpected turn of events, Ida asks him if they should try dating。 Aoki wants to keep their new relationship under wraps, but Ida has already told all their friends!

This volume was a mix of things I liked and did not like。 I was not a fan of the pacing, as sometimes it felt a little too rushed to reach certain conclusions。 I also didn't like that my copy had smudges of dirt on some of the pages that I didn't notice until after buying it and the lamination on the bottom right corner of the back cover already started to peel for some reason but those things are probably transit/packing issues that I can't really do anything about。 That being said, I did enjoy This volume was a mix of things I liked and did not like。 I was not a fan of the pacing, as sometimes it felt a little too rushed to reach certain conclusions。 I also didn't like that my copy had smudges of dirt on some of the pages that I didn't notice until after buying it and the lamination on the bottom right corner of the back cover already started to peel for some reason but those things are probably transit/packing issues that I can't really do anything about。 That being said, I did enjoy that this volume focused more on Aida and Hashimoto! I love Ida and Aoki, but it was a nice change of pace to see their two friends tryin to figure their relationship out on top of helping Ida and Aoki with theirs。 And I liked how Ida actually took the time to consider what he was doing with Aoki, it really helped consider his character when it came to how he feels and things like that。 Great volume, although the state of my copy ended up making this a three star review instead of a four。 Be sure to check out the quality of the copy before buying so you don't run into the same issues! 。。。more

As of Volume 3, Aoki and Ida are going to try dating。 While neither knew they liked guys until Aoki started falling for Ida (after a mix-up, see last few reviews), they have slowly starting getting to know each other and finding things they both really like about the other。 These books are so sweet and wholesome。 I end up smiling the entire time I’m reading and can’t stop long after I’ve finished。This book focused on the two of them dating, but not telling anyone but their closest friends。 Aoki As of Volume 3, Aoki and Ida are going to try dating。 While neither knew they liked guys until Aoki started falling for Ida (after a mix-up, see last few reviews), they have slowly starting getting to know each other and finding things they both really like about the other。 These books are so sweet and wholesome。 I end up smiling the entire time I’m reading and can’t stop long after I’ve finished。This book focused on the two of them dating, but not telling anyone but their closest friends。 Aoki is afraid of backlash from being in a Boy/Boy relationship and doesn’t want Ida affected by it。I look forward to every new volume and can’t wait to know what happens next!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 。。。more

What can I say? Aoki is adorable and Ida! OMG Ida is the most clueless boy ever! This is a fun series to read as a comfort read。Highly recommended!

My Love Mix-up keeps getting cuter and so relatable each volume! Aoki is extremely nervous on how Ida's life would be impacted if people knew they were dating。 I do like they although he basically runs away, the two of them do have a conversation about Aoki's worries。 I also enjoyed the times when Ida is with his friend, and his friend kind of pushes him to see things differently (as much as you can for someone so thick headed)。Overall, a pretty cute volume! Volume 4 of My Love Mix-Up! and I think it's the best one yet。 Aoki and Ida are still a bit clumsy and fumbling with their relationship, but it's making progress!I truly love how Aoki and Ida and their friends are so focused on helping and being there for one another, that the focus of the story isn't just Aoki and Ida getting together, but also their friendships and friend group。 Even the more "minor" friend characters are so supportive and eager to see Ida and Aoki happy。 It's very heartwarmin Volume 4 of My Love Mix-Up! and I think it's the best one yet。 Aoki and Ida are still a bit clumsy and fumbling with their relationship, but it's making progress!I truly love how Aoki and Ida and their friends are so focused on helping and being there for one another, that the focus of the story isn't just Aoki and Ida getting together, but also their friendships and friend group。 Even the more "minor" friend characters are so supportive and eager to see Ida and Aoki happy。 It's very heartwarming and feels so genuine。 Thank you to NetGalley and VIZ Media LLC for making this title available in exchange for an honest review! 。。。more

The story kind of loses steam in this volume。 It's just Aoki going back and forth on whether Ida actually likes him and why they're even dating。 Just feels repetitive when he's already been doing that for the past couple of chapters。 That bit finally got resolved so I'm excited to see how the story will evolve going forward。 The story kind of loses steam in this volume。 It's just Aoki going back and forth on whether Ida actually likes him and why they're even dating。 Just feels repetitive when he's already been doing that for the past couple of chapters。 That bit finally got resolved so I'm excited to see how the story will evolve going forward。 。。。more

ah some stuff is getting a bit repetitive so hopefully we can move on from that and see more development! my enjoyment of the series did decline over the span of this and the past volume, so im kinda disappointed i didn’t like them as much as i did when i started T^T nevertheless, i will continue on to finish the series bc i do want to see how everything works out!

Not my favorite of the series so far。 I wasn't a huge fan of the beginning of this volume。 It seemed weirdly out of place and unnecessary, I guess? I think it was meant to make Ida finally realize his feelings, but Aoki's reactions seemed odd。 I think why he was mad made sense, but the way it was portrayed just felt strange。 I can't quite explain it, but I didn't like it。 It was too childish maybe。 Once the story got over that bump though, I started to enjoy it。 I really just want to see them ge Not my favorite of the series so far。 I wasn't a huge fan of the beginning of this volume。 It seemed weirdly out of place and unnecessary, I guess? Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher I was able to read this book in exchange for an honest review。***The 4th volume of My Love Mix-Up! finds Aoki and Ida taking their relationship slow as Ida tries to see if he feels the same way about Aoki。 Emotional (and a bit strange) Aoki struggles with deciphering Ida’s cooler demeanor and what it means for them and causes some problems because Aoki is like king of the drama llamas and overreacts to like everything。 (I love him and his weirdness。) Ida als Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher I was able to read this book in exchange for an honest review。***The 4th volume of My Love Mix-Up! finds Aoki and Ida taking their relationship slow as Ida tries to see if he feels the same way about Aoki。 Emotional (and a bit strange) Aoki struggles with deciphering Ida’s cooler demeanor and what it means for them and causes some problems because Aoki is like king of the drama llamas and overreacts to like everything。 (I love him and his weirdness。) Ida also struggles with trying to understand his own feelings and putting words to them。Another great volume, there was some growth between the two boys and maybe Hashimoto and Aida have become a bit closer as well。 Hashimoto still remains the biggest shipper of Ida and Aoki。 。。。more

I received an ARC from Viz Media via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 My love Mix up vol。 4 is another volume of back and forth between these two boys。 Are they dating? Did they break up? Are they back together? Do they actually like each other? My only grievance is that it is pretty much another volume of the same。 They don't move forward in their relationship。 It's still Ida questioning if he really likes Aoki。 I mean, they did take turns flopping back and forth on this point, but I received an ARC from Viz Media via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 My love Mix up vol。 4 is another volume of back and forth between these two boys。 Are they dating? Even if it makes strangers give me puzzled looks as they go by。4/5 stars。 I can't wait until the next volume!!!! 。。。more

Amazing。 Loved。 It。 The author and artist are so funny in their asides and facial expressions。 And the little scenes are hilarious, cute and make me want more of the story than the romance portion did。 I don’t usually show emotions when reading, but I found myself smiling and laughing out loud - yes I real-lifed lol’d - throughout this entire book。 It was also nice seeing some development in the side characters。 Sumo-hashi is life。 It was a little weird reading the Christmas story, but the original Japanese version did come out around November 2020 so whatever。 Very excited to continue reading this series。 。。。more

I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review。 I liked this volume。 It still has the cute vibes and problems with relationships。 I actually forgot Ida had not yet told Aoki he also liked him。 This series continues to be cute, fun, and giving you all the feels。 It might just have been a while since I read the 3rd volume, but I felt the art style was slightly different。 Not in a bad way, just different。 I also like how this series does not focus on other student I received an eARC of this title through NetGalley in return for an honest review。 I liked this volume。 It still has the cute vibes and problems with relationships。 I actually forgot Ida had not yet told Aoki he also liked him。 This series continues to be cute, fun, and giving you all the feels。 It might just have been a while since I read the 3rd volume, but I felt the art style was slightly different。 Not in a bad way, just different。 I also like how this series does not focus on other students making fun of Aoki and Ida for dating, even though Aoki worries people will。 Most of the students just accept them as dating and not only that, the friends of both Aoki and Ida tend to just congratulate them。 I think the break from some of the heavy topics that sometimes happens for the LGBTQ+ community is nice。 I still recommend this series even thought this volume was not necessarily my favorite。 It was cute and heartwarming and worth the read。 。。。more

4。5 stars。 This book is an excellent continuation of the sweet love story。 This volume deals with miscommunication and the characters figuring out their true feelings。 Like previous volumes, the art and characters are completely charming。 Nothing really progresses in the plot besides a character realizing their emotions may be true。 This book felt a bit more filler-y than previous entries。 It was still an adorable book and a fun, easy read。 The art is good as always, though I would like to see m 4。5 stars。 This book is an excellent continuation of the sweet love story。 This volume deals with miscommunication and the characters figuring out their true feelings。 Like previous volumes, the art and characters are completely charming。 Nothing really progresses in the plot besides a character realizing their emotions may be true。 This book felt a bit more filler-y than previous entries。 It was still an adorable book and a fun, easy read。 The art is good as always, though I would like to see more shading to have the characters stand out a bit more and less sketchy。 Overall, I will keep enjoying this series and see where it ends up。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I appreciate the author for writing Aoki as someone who does not like being laughed at or teased by their significant other。 This is such a common yet hurtful trope :/ The author even addressed how boys are taught to tease and bully their crushes from a young age, and had Ida correct the child’s behavior and in turn he corrected his own!!! And the concept of consent exists in this BL???? WE LOVE TO SEE IT
