good stuff, but painstaking。 I’d argue this book would be more effective if it was 30% shorter。 you really only actually need the last two chapters

From Laughable to DangerousThis book started with one of the most laughable attempts at authoritative anchoring bias I have read - WAY overstated with belief stated as fact that was, of course, authored by a quantum physicist。 The prologue was hilarious。 But with the book's content, the whole enterprise quickly turns dangerous。 This is an anti-Science text hiding behind science-y sounding words in the grand (and weird) tradition of the (fringe element of the ?) Life changing and loved it。 One piece of the puzzle of 'manifesting' that makes so much sense。 Finally some explanation about how your brain works, why you think and act the way you do, and how to break the cycle。 Very extensive and lots of scientific information but I love that kind of knowledge。 It goes beyond all the 'positive thinking' and 'just do it differently now' and explains why and how。 Life changing and loved it。 One piece of the puzzle of 'manifesting' that makes so much sense。 Finally some explanation about how your brain works, why you think and act the way you do, and how to break the cycle。 Very extensive and lots of scientific information but I love that kind of knowledge。 It goes beyond all the 'positive thinking' and 'just do it differently now' and explains why and how。 。。。more

Lots of repetition about brain biology。 Good things about meditation, but he lost me talking that Ramtha nonsense。 I've had this on my shelves for long enough。 It's time to pass it on。 Lots of repetition about brain biology。 Good things about meditation, but he lost me talking that Ramtha nonsense。 I've had this on my shelves for long enough。 It's time to pass it on。 。。。more

This is a good book to explain why Dr。 Joe is writing these books。 It’s a prequel to all the others。 Only really useful if your naturally curious like me。

A great, simplified explanation about how the brain works and how knowing how the brain works can lead to how you can successfully alter your state of being。 If I had not read "Becoming Supernatural" by Dr。 Joe prior to reading this book, I would probably lose interest easily half way into this book。 Now I really believe that we can consciously become a better self, knowing that "we" are a product of our own feelings (hardwired sets of neurons that made up our state of being -- Brain > mind > bo A great, simplified explanation about how the brain works and how knowing how the brain works can lead to how you can successfully alter your state of being。 If I had not read "Becoming Supernatural" by Dr。 Joe prior to reading this book, I would probably lose interest easily half way into this book。 Now I really believe that we can consciously become a better self, knowing that "we" are a product of our own feelings (hardwired sets of neurons that made up our state of being -- Brain > mind > body)。 Overall, it is a good book, though not as engaging as the Becoming Supernatural one。 It is nevertheless a great companion book to read if you are interested in the world of the mind in the quamtum world, infinite possibilities and ultimate self improvement。 。。。more

This outstanding book has been an open eye not just in a personal level but also has had a huge impact in my career as a pedagogue。 A book that has clear and precise science behind the power of the mind。 And also a book that explains the science behind meditation and how meditation can change our neurology and there for create new conscious habits for our own well being。

So much good information。 I don’t now how much I retained。 Hopefully some of what I heard stocks with me。 I need a Cliff’s notes version。

Dr Joe Dispenza has such a wonderful way of weaving together the spirituality of manifesting and healing with neuroplasticity and brain chemistry in a poetic and uplifting way。 Evolve Your Brain, goes into the science of manifesting, personal growth and healing through self-awareness。 The book says that, you can rewire your brain, you can unlearn conditioning, you can transcend your spiritual, emotional, mental and physical world with the divine creative energy that you are made of。

I prefer Deepak Chopra's 'Seven Spiritual Laws of Success' (which more or less contains the same information, but more concise) to this book。 Some of the argumentation was not at all convincing and lacked proof。 Dispenza's approach puts a lot of responsibility on the individual, and while I believe that having a positive/constructive attitude can make some difference, I don't think it is always justified to blame a person's current situation on their thoughts (especially if social position or he I prefer Deepak Chopra's 'Seven Spiritual Laws of Success' (which more or less contains the same information, but more concise) to this book。 Some of the argumentation was not at all convincing and lacked proof。 Dispenza's approach puts a lot of responsibility on the individual, and while I believe that having a positive/constructive attitude can make some difference, I don't think it is always justified to blame a person's current situation on their thoughts (especially if social position or health/illness are involved)。 The theory about the brain was interested, but sometimes too complicated for me to understand。 。。。more

Excellent information told in an understandable and useful way。 Joe begins with his own story which is fascinating。 Some chapters in the middle I skimmed because it was more than I was interested in。 Towards the end, when he addresses the frontal lobe, I found it very interesting。 This book is about “making up” or “changing“ your mind in a whole new way。

I decided to give this audiobook a go despite the slightly trashy title because I wanted to read some sort of decent unification between psychology, neuroscience and self-help。 First of all, it was SO unnecessarily long (18 hours) due to overexplanation and over provision of examples, and the length couldn’t be justified by literary quality because it was SO bland。 There was definitely some good neurophysiological explanations but there was so much that could/should have been said in a few parag I decided to give this audiobook a go despite the slightly trashy title because I wanted to read some sort of decent unification between psychology, neuroscience and self-help。 First of all, it was SO unnecessarily long (18 hours) due to overexplanation and over provision of examples, and the length couldn’t be justified by literary quality because it was SO bland。 There was definitely some good neurophysiological explanations but there was so much that could/should have been said in a few paragraphs that took hours。While I certainly wouldn’t say this book is pseudoscience, i would say it is very one-sided science。 Dispenza frequently falls back on an example from his own life, in which he suffered a severe spinal injury and was told by medical professionals that his only chance of survival was surgery that would take many years therapy to recover from。 Dispenza rejected the surgery and employed a number of techniques centred around meditation and focussed attention including the ‘mental rehearsal’ technique which he advocates for by the end of the book。 He manages to heal himself fully within a matter of months。 I have no doubt that Dispenza’s techniques were significantly responsible for his remarkable recovery and the book goes a long way to provide scientific evidence for this。 The problem I have with advocating for people to reject traditional science in this way is that the cost can be very great if it goes wrong。 I find it strange how Dispenza acknowledges that ‘changing your mind’ in this sense is a very very difficult task, but still doesn’t acknowledge the (fatal) consequences of failing to do so after rejecting standard protocols。 To provide an unbiased picture I would like to have seen at least one description of a person who has attempted to go down this route and failed, as I’m sure there are examples of this。The last few minutes attempted to make the connection between quantum physics and intentional thought which was the absolute icing on the cake。 I have found it is all too common for psychologists to attempt to make this connection seem like widely accepted fact, which is extremely misleading as there is no agreement in the physics community on what quantum phenomena mean in physical/metaphysical terms, let alone phenomenological terms。 PLEASE psychologists of the world, if you aren’t going to give these explanations justice, just leave them out :( 。。。more
