Before jumping into this review， I want to point out that I knew this was going to be YA。 I was well prepared for the YA tone。 Overall I enjoyed this！ This obviously has some similar themes to ACOTAR or Throne of Glass so it’s hard not to compare them to this。 I actually enjoyed having to focus on only 2 （well really 3） fae territories。 Maybe i just needed something less complex。 The magic is interesting but could use a bit more elaboration。 The lore is also interesting and would love to learn m Before jumping into this review， I want to point out that I knew this was going to be YA。 I was well prepared for the YA tone。 Overall I enjoyed this！ This obviously has some similar themes to ACOTAR or Throne of Glass so it’s hard not to compare them to this。 I actually enjoyed having to focus on only 2 （well really 3） fae territories。 Maybe i just needed something less complex。 The magic is interesting but could use a bit more elaboration。 The lore is also interesting and would love to learn more。 I loved following Brie’s adventure。 She too had an awful and challenging childhood after losing her parents （sounds familiar？ Celaena much？）， but was she as brash， rude， or pompous as Celaena？ Nope。 Brie was much more reasonable， nicer， humbler， and more。 For someone who has dedicated her life to keeping herself and her sister alive， it makes sense for her not to trust easily。 Also what makes sense is her yearning to find friends or a found family。 To me that’s realistic， if there’s one thing that that we all humans seek it’s company。 Also another comparison— not everyone here keeps saying “it’s none of your concern” or “leave” in a brash manner。 Somehow people in Throne of Glass are just much ruder？ Anyways， the dialogues were much less cringey in my opinion… now don’t get me wrong there were some cringey moments too but nothing that made my eyes roll like they’re wheels。 Yes there is a love story， and yes it’s a love triangle。 If that’s a big no for you then you might not enjoy this。 If that’s not an issue then go ahead and read this！Also that ending was great！ I can’t wait to read book 2。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I stayed up till 2 o’clock in the morning reading this book and it was worth every minute！ These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan is a YA Fantasy that had tons of romance involved， which ya’ll know I thrive off of！ 😉 Honestly I would not put this in the YA section if y’all know what I’m saying 🥵 The rollercoaster of emotions and anxiety this book gave me to the end had completely made my month！ I’m so glad I received the ARC （advanced reader’s copy） for it because it ends on a cliffhanger！ But don’t wor I stayed up till 2 o’clock in the morning reading this book and it was worth every minute！ These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan is a YA Fantasy that had tons of romance involved， which ya’ll know I thrive off of！ 😉 Honestly I would not put this in the YA section if y’all know what I’m saying 🥵 The rollercoaster of emotions and anxiety this book gave me to the end had completely made my month！ I’m so glad I received the ARC （advanced reader’s copy） for it because it ends on a cliffhanger！ But don’t worry the sequel comes out on July 19th so if you want to pick this book up you can！ If you can get over all the similarities between ACOTAR/Cruel Prince/The Selection you’ll love it。 Okay let me shutup and tell you what this book is about！ Brie is a 17 year old girl that was orphaned and left to take care of her little sister after their mom left them for her fae lover。 She steals as much as she can to pay off her and her sister’s debt to her aunt so they can be free again。 But her aunt was tired of waiting for their debt to be paid so she sold her sister to one of the Fae King’s。 Brie always swore she would never go to the Fae Realm but to save her sister she has no other choice。 Sebastian her best friend that she’s had a crush on for over two years begs her to stay and not enter the faerie realm where it isn’t safe for humans。 But do you think she listens， no F that boy she has to save her sister！ When she gets there she meets some new friends that want to help her and then stumbles on an old friend she thought she knew。 𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️2🌶🌶•friends to lovers•heavy ACOTAR vibes•love triangle •morally grey love interest•calls her princess 🥺•she’s learning her powers。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。⚠️SPOILERS⚠️The ACOTAR/TOG resemblance is definitely there but once you get that out of your head the story is so good！ THAT ENDING！！ I mean I saw it coming but man I loved it！！！！ I love to see a woman taking control。 And Finn was training her with the power his dad should’ve given him 🥺。 When Finn popped up in her dream and asked her “Are you happy？” 😭 Abriella I warned you not to trust that boy just cause you knew him longer！ I knew Finn was the right answer when he warned her not to bond herself with anyone！ And Ronan kept pushing and pushing。 Ooooooh child anywayzzzzzzzz I can’t wait to start the ARC I HAVE OF IT！ 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2🌶🌶 I’m just going to ignore that she’s 17 in the books could’ve made her 20 and it would’ve worked out perfectly。 Man no wonder Ronan was in the mortal lands to make her fall in love with him and I KNOW he doesn’t even love her cause who would do that？？？ My emotions are everywhere right now I’m just trying to write down all of my thoughts。 How is she going to be able to break the bond between her and Ronan？ And the Queen is sooooo conniving！ That’s why she did the curse for her son to take the throne that he deserved。 。。。more

Overall I did love this book！ Brie was believable and at the end amazing。 There was definitely times I rolled my eyes or was like “what！？ Are we not going to address this？？” But I definitely loved this book either with the things that peeved me。

4。5 stars rounded up to 5。 Really enjoyed this one！！ Pretty fast and easy read with well-developed characters and lots of unexpected twists and turns and betrayal after betrayal。 Enjoyed the love triangle romance and the world-building and can’t wait for the next book since it definitely ended on a cliffhanger！

I honestly was not expecting this book to be this good。 I’ve owned it for over six months， and just never picked it up。 This was very fast paced， and I enjoyed it immensely。 The main character does not follow the number one rule。 And that is; never trust the blonde love interest。

I don’t care what the people are saying， I freaking adored this book。 And I know the talk is a “Cinderella-esque” vibe but I got a few vibes， like Cinderella， Robin Hood， Beauty and the Beast meets Fae！！！ There were a few questionable moments but of course it is what it is。 Like how can this one “human girl” trick this many Fae but then the twists hunny the twists I was not ready all the way to the end。 And I can’t wait for book2 to come out！！！

I actually read this book a while ago and was very much enthralled with the world Ryan created。 On the surface， this book *seems* like it will have a lot of tropes， but I actually found it to stand on its own and be quite original， with distinctive characters that don't fade into the background of many other YA/epic fantasy characters I've read。 All in all， a solid read -and I am stoked to read the next in this duology。 I actually read this book a while ago and was very much enthralled with the world Ryan created。 On the surface， this book *seems* like it will have a lot of tropes， but I actually found it to stand on its own and be quite original， with distinctive characters that don't fade into the background of many other YA/epic fantasy characters I've read。 All in all， a solid read -and I am stoked to read the next in this duology。 。。。more
