I really enjoyed this book - the characters were interesting and well-developed and I absolutely adored the setting。 The author excelled at building up the slow-burning tension, employing misdirection regularly and often leaving chapters on a cliffhanger which meant it was hard to put down my kindle! Would definitely recommend for a holiday read, or if (like me) you’d like to escape to a Greek island on your commute!

I finished it。 I can't believe I finally finished it。 I feel like I've been on a six month journey reading this one。First, thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an earc to give my thoughts on。Where to start? I think what this book set out to do, it did really well。 Unfortunately for me, I thought I was getting something different。 That, is mostly my fault。 But, not entirely。 It's my personal opinion, that this book isn't marketed correctly。 It is a 2。5 rounded up on the rating scale。It's hard for me to say too much because saying much of anything could easily spoil this for other readers and I would never。 But if you're on the fence about this one, you may want to inquire from someone who's read it and knows your reading tastes on whether or not it may be for you。I will say, I've read other books with characters that are hard to like and despised those books and characters, I didn't hate the characters here。 They felt very real。 Flawed and human。 I adored the setting。 I felt like I was an invited guest of the hen party。 And shockingly for me, this book was really easy to pick up。 I know because I unfortunately also put it down a lot。 This book is extremely character driven, which I don't mind。 However, in the beginning, I found myself taking small notes to keep everyone straight but by the end, I felt the story was boxed in because we only had this set of six characters。 Weird, I know。 The chapters are short so that's always a plus, in my opinion anyway。 And for as long as I feel like I've been reading this one, the ending felt a little blunt to me。 Not to say it was bad, it was just like, okay。。 on with my day。 This book definitely has an audience。 And it isn't a bad story。 It wasn't poor storytelling。 It just wasn't the book for me。 I wouldn't discourage others from reading it。 And I would try something from this author in the future if the synopsis sounded promising, and I'd have a better understanding of the author's storytelling so I'd know what better to expect。 I know this review doesn't give much in the way of plot but as I previously stated, it's hard to sum this one up without giving anything away plus this is a slow burn, in my opinion。 But I'll try。 1 hen (bachelorette) party in Greece (fun!) 6 women。 Some old friends。 Some new friends。 Numerous secrets between them。 And perhaps even a little death thrown in to keep it interesting。 This cover is bangin'。 。。。more

This is the second book I have read by this author and they are both deserving of their 5 stars。 I absolutely loved it。 It was a bit slow in the beginning but soon clicked into place。 I loved all the characters and how their storylines tied together。 Great ending that was totally unexpected and I didn’t see coming。

I was expecting a thriller but it read more like a women's fiction/suspense novel Six women at a hen party in Greece with each character's backstory quite often boring and unnecessary to move the big reveal along。 I kept reading, as I wanted to know who died and who did it。 For me, it was just an OK read。 Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC。 I was expecting a thriller but it read more like a women's fiction/suspense novel Six women at a hen party in Greece with each character's backstory quite often boring and unnecessary to move the big reveal along。 I kept reading, as I wanted to know who died and who did it。 For me, it was just an OK read。 Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC。 。。。more

The blurb immediately grabbed my attention, and by the end of chapter one, I was totally invested in the story。 The author could work for the Greek tourism board, because the descriptions of the (fictionaI) Island of Aegis made me start looking at 2023 holidays in Greece。  I could honestly visualise the locations and character interactions, and if not part of them, then definitely party to them。 I have always found that visualising the scenes truly enriches my reading experience。We begin the boo The blurb immediately grabbed my attention, and by the end of chapter one, I was totally invested in the story。 The author could work for the Greek tourism board, because the descriptions of the (fictionaI) Island of Aegis made me start looking at 2023 holidays in Greece。  I could honestly visualise the locations and character interactions, and if not part of them, then definitely party to them。 I have always found that visualising the scenes truly enriches my reading experience。We begin the book with the knowledge that one of our main characters will end up dead。 While that reveal itself was quite a surprise, I found more (perhaps twisted) pleasure watching the characters squirm as more secrets from their pasts are unveiled。 These come out as the story is unfolded from each character’s perspective。 Writing the story this way has allowed the author to develop each character perfectly。Overall, this was a one sitting book, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading。 Would I recommend thebook? I didn't dislike this, but I was somewhat disappointed at how similar this was to other books。 Remote location, group of "friends", you know from the beginning someone dies but don't know who。。。off the top of my head, that reminds me of The Guest List, The Hunting Party, One by One, and In A Dark Dark Wood。 And without giving too much away, it felt like the ending had just been copied from another popular book。 *But again, I didn't dislike it。 It was fast, the characters were interesting and com I didn't dislike this, but I was somewhat disappointed at how similar this was to other books。 Remote location, group of "friends", you know from the beginning someone dies but don't know who。。。off the top of my head, that reminds me of The Guest List, The Hunting Party, One by One, and In A Dark Dark Wood。 And without giving too much away, it felt like the ending had just been copied from another popular book。 *But again, I didn't dislike it。 It was fast, the characters were interesting and complex, and their secrets ended up giving them depth so I enjoyed how those were revealed。 The red herrings were fun, I enjoyed the continued references to red pieces of clothing, making you think something was about to happen。 I also loved the epilogue! *So all in all, a fun quick read, but loses points for a lack of creativity。  。。。more

Review also posted on my blog。I wasn’t immediately gripped by this story—it was pretty slow to start, and I was having anxiety about the number of main characters。 Every time someone new was introduced I stopped and added them to a note on my phone with their name and background info。 That’s probably why it felt so slow for me。 But then once you really got into the story and got the hang of who was who, it finally picked up the pace。I also think the blurb is misleading? From reading it, I expected that someone attended the bachelorette weekend with the intention of committing murder—but that was never the case。 Actually when I went back and read the blurb again before writing this review, I got super annoyed because it explained why I was so confused。 I spent the whole story trying to figure out who would want to commit murder only to realize that wasn’t at all the case。 I don’t think I’m ruining anything for you。 I’m hopefully just saving you some confusion。 And the ending also reminded me of another novel I’ve read…but I won’t tell you which one or I’ll definitely give away the ending。 But you’ll probably get there on your own when you finish。Anyway。 I will admit that I was very surprised by all the twists。 I didn’t see a single one of them coming。 And I loved each of the characters。 I don’t even know who my favorite is because I developed a soft spot for each of the “hens。” They each had their own secret (hey this part of the blurb was right!) which I also didn’t predict and never would have guessed。Overall, I can’t say I was ever super excited about this story and had to rush to get to the outcome because I couldn’t possibly stand not knowing。 That, to me, is the mark of a good thriller。 But I loved the beautiful setting, the girls and their inner struggles。Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

This was a great summer thriller that involves a hen party in Greece! Each woman has a secret and by the end of the trip, everything comes to a boil with a murder。 The author did a great job of building tension and giving us an insight into each of the women。 At times I rooted for one of them and against at other times。 Everyone has a little bit of a villain inside them!

I had mixed feelings when I was reading this book, but the ending was so good I decided it deserved a five-star rating。The beginning was very engaging getting to know all of the characters。 I enjoyed their drama-filled backstories。 The middle turned into a lot of bickering between the girls that I found boring and annoying。 I kept avoiding the book and string to push my way through it。 It bothers me to leave a book unfinished。I was glad I pushed through。 All of a sudden, one secret after another I had mixed feelings when I was reading this book, but the ending was so good I decided it deserved a five-star rating。The beginning was very engaging getting to know all of the characters。 I enjoyed their drama-filled backstories。 The middle turned into a lot of bickering between the girls that I found boring and annoying。 I kept avoiding the book and string to push my way through it。 It bothers me to leave a book unfinished。I was glad I pushed through。 All of a sudden, one secret after another was revealed。 I did not see any of it coming。 Which made it even more enjoyable。 It began to remind me of Big Little Lies。I received this galley from NetGalley。 。。。more

One of the Girls is a suspenseful, character-driven drama, the story of a hen party weekend gone terribly awry。 With the POV shared equally among the six different women on this Greek holiday, in which personalities clash and secrets are spilled, it's a compulsively readable story, though somewhat less of a typical thriller than it is a character drama。 The occasional interludes of vaguely menacing foreshadowing (along the lines of "We were there for a party。。。we had no idea what was in store") One of the Girls is a suspenseful, character-driven drama, the story of a hen party weekend gone terribly awry。 With the POV shared equally among the six different women on this Greek holiday, in which personalities clash and secrets are spilled, it's a compulsively readable story, though somewhat less of a typical thriller than it is a character drama。 The occasional interludes of vaguely menacing foreshadowing (along the lines of "We were there for a party。。。we had no idea what was in store") are, frankly, a bit silly, and in fact lessened the sense of urgency and danger for me。 But despite these, and an epilogue that wrapped things up far too tidily and abruptly for my taste, it's an entertaining read that I breezed my way through in a day。Thank you to the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

100% I was down for this book when I picked it up last night。 I ended up going to sleep an hour and a half after I'd planned to because I just needed to know who died。One of the Girls is the story of six women, all with various life histories and backgrounds who end up connected through one of them, Lexi, a woman who is about to get married。 While the backgrounds weren't fleshed out as much as I normally like them to be, the back and forth of just who is killed and who did the killing kept me go 100% I was down for this book when I picked it up last night。 I ended up going to sleep an hour and a half after I'd planned to because I just needed to know who died。One of the Girls is the story of six women, all with various life histories and backgrounds who end up connected through one of them, Lexi, a woman who is about to get married。 While the backgrounds weren't fleshed out as much as I normally like them to be, the back and forth of just who is killed and who did the killing kept me going until the end。 The only issue I had with this book (and this happens with books that use this style for me) were the interludes in italics。 They just do nothing for me。 I think the book would have been fine without them。 。。。more
