Summary

In the second book of Nora Roberts’s Dream Trilogy, the ever practical Kate Powell finds her career sidetracked by a scandal—one that will teach her the value of family, friendship, and love 。。。

Surrounded by the sweeping cliffs and beauty of Big Sur, Kate Powell treasured both her life at Templeton House and the family who raised her like one of their own。 Although Kate lacked Margo’s beauty and Laura’s elegance, she knew she had something they would never possess—a shrewd head for business。

Driven by ambition, Kate measured her life’s success with each soaring promotion。 But now faced with professional impropriety, Kate is forced to look deep within herself—only to find something missing in her life 。。。 and in her heart。

I love this book so much!!!! It’s soooo good! I highly recommend people read this book Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors。 They way she writes is amazing。 After reading the dream trilogy I wanted to buy and read everything she’s ever written。

Was dragging a bit。 After reading the first one, this was a bit of a disappointment。 Especially how the romantic relationship developed。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Book two of the dream trilogy。 If Kate started to fall for Roger I was going to throw this book along with the third installment in this series right in the garage!Luckily; it didn’t unfold that way, I enjoyed this book better than the first, will finish out the final book and gift the collection to our “free little library” as peruse。

I quite enjoyed this book-Byron was sweet and there was a good mix of tension and care from his relationship with Kate。 Kate annoyed me a bunch but considering her character and wanting everything planned, i understood why she did some of what she did and thought was right/wrong。 I really enjoyed the way Byron’s character was written and portrayed-most of the book i enjoyed Kate too。 (i do think of “beans, rice, jesus christ and Byron” whenever i read his name though lol)

Conflict:Kate is suspected of a crime。 She has a family history holding up against her。 Her own internal self worth is being held against her。 Basically, this crime threatens who she is to herself, somehow, even though she knows she did not do it。 How she reacts to this accusation shows how easy her foundation of self could crumble。 Pacing:The story flowed。 It did not take many detours。 It felt like it unfolded in a specific time in Kate's life。 As the series progresses, the plot progresses。 Set Conflict:Kate is suspected of a crime。 She has a family history holding up against her。 Her own internal self worth is being held against her。 Basically, this crime threatens who she is to herself, somehow, even though she knows she did not do it。 How she reacts to this accusation shows how easy her foundation of self could crumble。 Pacing:The story flowed。 It did not take many detours。 It felt like it unfolded in a specific time in Kate's life。 As the series progresses, the plot progresses。 Setting:Setting plays a surprising role in this story。 The lore of the area is just as important to these women as their own lives。 They took the stories they loved as girls and lived their lives for them in a way。 Voice: The author seems to have a slight formula for her romance trilogies。 When there is a family, there is often an extended member of the family to be taken in。 Not really a fault, she does it well。 Characters: The bond seems real。 When the guardians speak to Kate, it is very endearing。 I would read a book of their love for these women, raising them。 A great coming of age story。 Overall:This is a sweet trilogy。 Not as much darkness as some of her others。 I really enjoy it 。。。more

4 stars just because Kate is so stubborn and it irritated me so much, especially at the end, but Byron saved the day :)

This book was quite entertaining, and very, very well played out。 I loved the drama and small fights deeply, but also the bits of romance, devotion, and intensity。 The storyline was just a well laid out as the first book, and I can't wait to read the third one in this marvelous triology。 Kate Powell is a strong, hard-working, beautiful, and determined lady----a schedule packed full of things, the she doesn't even take care of herself properly, to the point she's taken to the hospital where mermo This book was quite entertaining, and very, very well played out。 I loved the drama and small fights deeply, but also the bits of romance, devotion, and intensity。 The storyline was just a well laid out as the first book, and I can't wait to read the third one in this marvelous triology。 Kate Powell is a strong, hard-working, beautiful, and determined lady----a schedule packed full of things, the she doesn't even take care of herself properly, to the point she's taken to the hospital where mermories of her parents end up flooding back, but she doesn't face it alone。 Her parents bad both passed away painfully their, and being their makes it way harder, knowing that her parents had died in the same hospital when she was just eight-years-old。Uncertain about what happens next, she starts to stress way more then she used to, losing tons more weight, to the point she can barely even put on a few pounds。 Popping Tums and antacids is all she's able to do, but she starts getting a steady pace when Byron De Witt comes into her life and makes sure she gets fed, eats healthy, works out, and doesn't hurt herself even more then she already has。 。。。more

I enjoy Nora Roberts' trilogies, but sometimes there's one sister or brother I find it hard to relate to。 That was the case with Kate in this entry in the Dream series。 Plus it was really obvious who the villain must be。 Still, I liked finding out what happened to everyone from the first book and am looking forward to the story continuing in the third。 I enjoy Nora Roberts' trilogies, but sometimes there's one sister or brother I find it hard to relate to。 That was the case with Kate in this entry in the Dream series。 Plus it was really obvious who the villain must be。 Still, I liked finding out what happened to everyone from the first book and am looking forward to the story continuing in the third。 。。。more

This is definitely a series that starts slow and I mean that for each book。 Also an adult romance as half the accounting gargin went over my head。I liked Kate as they described her body as slim and manly and quite flat boney etc not the most popular body type used。At times she pissed me off at times she made me laught overall a decent heroine。 Byron was funny I really like him。I could read this again but not my favorite of Nora Roberts4/5 stars8。0/10

A Career minded Kate finds that instead of a promotion to Partner she is accused of embezzlement and may be facing criminal charges, All she worked for was destroyed and now she has to decide what is next。 These characters are so real and react as you would expect if you were in the same situation, That seems to be Nora Roberts style and she makes it seem so easy。 This is a Good Read

You know what you are getting with Norah Roberts and can't really be disappointed。 I've been struggling with reading lately and just needed a light easy summer read to get me back on a roll。 This series has done the trick。 You know what you are getting with Norah Roberts and can't really be disappointed。 I've been struggling with reading lately and just needed a light easy summer read to get me back on a roll。 This series has done the trick。 。。。more
