Summary

Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it。

Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business。 If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things。

But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them?

Maybe nothing。 After all, they get separated。

Maybe everything。 After all, they get reunited。

But what if they can’t quite nail a first date 。 。 。 or a second first date 。 。 。 or a third?

What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work 。 。 。 and Ben doesn’t try hard enough?

What if life really isn’t like a Broadway play?

But what if it is?

3。5 stars。 The book was a little basic but the ending was unexpected。 Things don’t happen like this in real life so it was hard for me to read without scoffing。 I enjoyed the romance somewhat but I just couldn’t get on board with the story in general。

I won’t finnish it。

The Harry Potter and Hamilton references are so tiring to read。 I have no clue why authors are so determined to date their books by adding so many pop culture references that will be out of date within the year it's published。 Liking Hamilton and liking Harry potter are basically our main characters only character trait besides being overbearing。 The romance was weird because they have zero chemistry and there's an odd amount of fights and jealousy for only knowing each other for a month, where The Harry Potter and Hamilton references are so tiring to read。 I have no clue why authors are so determined to date their books by adding so many pop culture references that will be out of date within the year it's published。 Liking Hamilton and liking Harry potter are basically our main characters only character trait besides being overbearing。 The romance was weird because they have zero chemistry and there's an odd amount of fights and jealousy for only knowing each other for a month, where you should still be in the "this person is so great!!!" phase but they seem to skip over that completely。 Or maybe not completely because they had one awkward conversation at the post office and spend weeks trying to find each other after(?) The only thing they have in common seems to be liking guys。 One character isnt over his ex and is constantly going "he's so much shorter than my ex。 My ex would've done blank" and its exhausting。 OH and don't get me STARTED on the "do over first date" that they have 3 or 4 of。 If a guy told me that the first date wasn't perfect so we should do it over again until it was I would never be seeing him again that is so incredibly rude to even suggest to someone。 I can't believe I was supposed to find that cute and quirky that's just so mean。 。。。more

What happened to the ending? 🥺I know that was the most logical and appropriate ending however, I just feel sad on what happened。 Hayst。

Super cute! Not sure what people think of the two mains, but Ben is far more likable than Arthur (or am I wrong?)

This is an LGBTQ+ book, both of the main characters Arthur and Benjamin (Ben), are gay。 Both of the characters have unique personalities。 Arthur has a cute, quirky personality, but of course, some flaws like jealousy and his overreacting things。 Ben is a half puerto-rican who loves writing。 The book has an Alternate Point Of View, switching back and forth between the main characters。 I think while reading this book you fall in love with characters, and you wonder if they'll end up together。 I de This is an LGBTQ+ book, both of the main characters Arthur and Benjamin (Ben), are gay。 Both of the characters have unique personalities。 Arthur has a cute, quirky personality, but of course, some flaws like jealousy and his overreacting things。 Ben is a half puerto-rican who loves writing。 The book has an Alternate Point Of View, switching back and forth between the main characters。 I think while reading this book you fall in love with characters, and you wonder if they'll end up together。 I definitely think this book is interesting and very detailed when it comes to authors likes and dislikes。 。。。more

I thought this was going to be a good book。 It wasn't。To start, I'm slightly uncomfortable with how teenagers were portrayed in this book。 Like, it's clear a grown woman wrote this book with how the characters interact with each other。 Next, Arthur is so immature that he shouldn't even be in a relationship。 He gets jealous over 2 people who used to be in a relationship just talking when he knows that Hudson cheated on Ben to begin with。 Finally, idgaf about any of them。 I thought this was going to be a good book。 It wasn't。To start, I'm slightly uncomfortable with how teenagers were portrayed in this book。 Like, it's clear a grown woman wrote this book with how the characters interact with each other。 Next, Arthur is so immature that he shouldn't even be in a relationship。 He gets jealous over 2 people who used to be in a relationship just talking when he knows that Hudson cheated on Ben to begin with。 Finally, idgaf about any of them。 。。。more

I really loved the book, there is only not much happening。 That is okay because sometimes you need to read a book like that。 This time I needed that, but not always

so good, I loved it!

The characters act like teenagers。 Lots of swearing and some off screen sex。 Sort of vaguely dips into issues of race and homophobia。 Probably better for high school。

This book was average。 Some parts were really good but others weren’t。 The characters together were cute, but sometimes I didn’t really like their personalities。

Summer Vega

Loved the first 40% but then didn’t like the way the story went and how un likable the characters became (I think it would work for the intended reading audience though)

Mateusz

Light read。 Nothing special but quite nice。

This is one of those times where using my stars to express my enjoyment instead of using them to render a verdict on the book's quality bites me in the ass, because I enjoyed the heck out of What If It's Us while I was reading it but I jusssst cannot bring myself to give it five stars even though in the moment I WAS having five stars worth of fun。 Same dilemma I face with things like Emily in Paris。But while I was reading What If It's Us, it was so fluffy and easy to read and harmlessly angsty a This is one of those times where using my stars to express my enjoyment instead of using them to render a verdict on the book's quality bites me in the ass, because I enjoyed the heck out of What If It's Us while I was reading it but I jusssst cannot bring myself to give it five stars even though in the moment I WAS having five stars worth of fun。 Same dilemma I face with things like Emily in Paris。But while I was reading What If It's Us, it was so fluffy and easy to read and harmlessly angsty and I loved all the pop culture references that will be SO dated in 10 years (if not sooner) and the side characters actually had things going on, unlike the book I read just before this 。 。 。 I had so much fun that I read the sequel as soon as I'd finished this one。 In the end I wasn't fully sold on the romantic relationship, but it was cute anyway。 A better audience would be on the younger end of YA, I think。 。。。more
