This series is an interactive mystery easy and fast to read with lots of humor for young readers。 The main character is a kid who worries for his mom。 She may lose her business and house if they don't solve this case。 So when she gets sick。 He takes over with his best friend and her little brother。The plot is cartoonish and not too serious, thus the fun。 Sometimes to get to the next page you must solve a puzzle and some are challenging for very young readers。 It's a very entertaining series。 This series is an interactive mystery easy and fast to read with lots of humor for young readers。 The main character is a kid who worries for his mom。 She may lose her business and house if they don't solve this case。 So when she gets sick。 He takes over with his best friend and her little brother。The plot is cartoonish and not too serious, thus the fun。 Sometimes to get to the next page you must solve a puzzle and some are challenging for very young readers。 It's a very entertaining series。 。。。more

Absolutely LOVED this。 What happens when you combine a kids mystery with a choose-your-own-aventure book。 A FANTASTIC experience。 This was the first time I did this, but I actually drew out a map for how you could read every single page。 I missed a loose end, and that led to it taking a lot longer, but it was so fun to first find one really good ending and then see how the various ones went。 Kudos to Lauren Magaziner for pulling off something so interesting, fun and mysterious, with levels of fu Absolutely LOVED this。 What happens when you combine a kids mystery with a choose-your-own-aventure book。 A FANTASTIC experience。 This was the first time I did this, but I actually drew out a map for how you could read every single page。 I missed a loose end, and that led to it taking a lot longer, but it was so fun to first find one really good ending and then see how the various ones went。 Kudos to Lauren Magaziner for pulling off something so interesting, fun and mysterious, with levels of fun and puzzles。 Cannot wait to read the next 2, and I would love if there were more! Imagine if there were an adult version for this, but still, this occupied this adult。 。。。more

A nice story with fun puzzles。 It is every childs dream to be a detective, and this is the perfect possibility to live out that dream。Read it as a goodnight-story for pre-school children, or "read-it-yourself" for younger readers。 A nice story with fun puzzles。 It is every childs dream to be a detective, and this is the perfect possibility to live out that dream。Read it as a goodnight-story for pre-school children, or "read-it-yourself" for younger readers。 。。。more

A fun read! I liked the idea of an interactive book where you pick your adventure kind of thing。 The mystery wasn't that interesting though, I wish there were more puzzles than picking a path。 I didn't pass by all the puzzles, so a different read would hit different places but not sure it would be enjoyable after solving the mystery once and knowing the culprit。Overall, nice middle-grade book。 A fun read! As a kid I loved the Choose Your Own Adventure books, which is why I picked up MYSTERY IN THE MANSION: Cased Closed。 It was fun and a bit silly, but exactly what I needed this afternoon。 It's definitely a book I'd recommend for kids who love non-scary mysteries and who also enjoy figuring things out。 Some of the paths have fun puzzles while others are a bit more straightforward。 I love that you can read it multiple times and it's different depending on your choices。 As a kid I loved the Choose Your Own Adventure books, which is why I picked up MYSTERY IN THE MANSION: Cased Closed。 It was fun and a bit silly, but exactly what I needed this afternoon。 It's definitely a book I'd recommend for kids who love non-scary mysteries and who also enjoy figuring things out。 Some of the paths have fun puzzles while others are a bit more straightforward。 I love that you can read it multiple times and it's different depending on your choices。 。。。more

Mystery In the Mansion is based on Three kids who go on a crazy adventure together to help an old lady to find the person who was sending her death threats and causing her harm and fear。 While the reader gets to make decisions to find the ending, they find more clues they add on more and more continuing throughout the story。 It is a very suspenseful book and has a mystery genre。 I would rate this book 5/5 stars。 I think it was well scripted and has many funny, scary, and strange endings that are Mystery In the Mansion is based on Three kids who go on a crazy adventure together to help an old lady to find the person who was sending her death threats and causing her harm and fear。 While the reader gets to make decisions to find the ending, they find more clues they add on more and more continuing throughout the story。 It is a very suspenseful book and has a mystery genre。 I would rate this book 5/5 stars。 I think it was well scripted and has many funny, scary, and strange endings that are possible to read。 。。。more

This was a fun choose your own adventure style mystery that worked well as a family read allowed。 The boys enjoyed solving riddles scattered throughout the book。 We managed to solve the mystery surprisingly quickly, but then we went back and tried out different paths to see what we missed (and to checked out the less than successful endings)。 I recommend this for kids who enjoy choose your own adventure style books and mysteries。

Carlos and his mom are in trouble。 Her detective agency has come on hard times after a disastrous case, and they're struggling to get by。 When Carlos' mom becomes sick and can't follow up on a new case, Carlos takes matters into his own hands in hopes of helping his mom get business going again。My 8yo tried reading this on her own and either didn't get it or hit a wall, so she asked if we could read it aloud。 It was a mess。 I know kids are into potty humor, but the writing left a lot to be desir Carlos and his mom are in trouble。 Her detective agency has come on hard times after a disastrous case, and they're struggling to get by。 When Carlos' mom becomes sick and can't follow up on a new case, Carlos takes matters into his own hands in hopes of helping his mom get business going again。My 8yo tried reading this on her own and either didn't get it or hit a wall, so she asked if we could read it aloud。 It was a mess。 I know kids are into potty humor, but the writing left a lot to be desired and the first 18 pages had more references to poop and butts than I had patience for。 I don't think we've read anything else by this author, and I wouldn't mind if my daughter wanted to try it again, but I was left unimpressed and annoyed after just one section。 。。。more

I was excited for this book since it was a choose your own ending style book。 The writing was just too bland, cheesy, and predictable for the age level。

Mystery, adventure and being done in the middle of the book?! This great choose your own adventure mystery showcases 3 sleuths on their way to solving their first mystery。 It has logic puzzles in the book along with the mystery which leads you to the next page。 However solve the puzzle wrong or choose the wrong path your case could be done too quickly。

decided to include this for my reading guide assignment (INF205 Literature and Other Resources for Children and Young Adults) because of it's format and I spent a good afternoon trying to solve the case。 I took a lot of wrong turns and had to backtrack before I got there, but it was a good time and I'm looking forward to trying to solve the next case in my free time。 decided to include this for my reading guide assignment (INF205 Literature and Other Resources for Children and Young Adults) because of it's format and I spent a good afternoon trying to solve the case。 I took a lot of wrong turns and had to backtrack before I got there, but it was a good time and I'm looking forward to trying to solve the next case in my free time。 。。。more

Fun choose your own ending book for middle grade。 But the kids in the story lie to adults a lot, and also break in to people’s houses, and steal, so it’s not great if you’re hoping for some morals and values, but if your child understands it’s just being silly, then I guess it’s okay。 It was mostly a lot of fluff and not anything deep or exciting, so my kids only sort of enjoyed it。

When I was teaching, I had a month long unit on the Choose Your Own Adventure series! I bought over 100 of the books, had created a Powerpoint Presentation about them and their importance in literature, and created a worksheet so that the students could map out their adventures。It was always fun for me to see how these books encouraged my 6th Graders to want to read more!I think this book is definitely going to encourage the reader to take many adventures! We found out who the culprit was, saved an important person in the story, and saved "Mom's" detective agency!I don't know if I would make that good of a detective as I kept making wrong decisions! But that is how we learn! I admire the author's use of puzzles and word games throughout the book。 I am embarrassed to say I had to ask for help with solving some of them!I look forward to reading more by this author! 。。。more

I absolutely love mystery books and I love this one because you as the reader get to help solve the mystery。 I would recommend this for grades 4th - 6th, and could help with comprehension just because they have to really pay attention to understand the idea behind this book。 A great read!

This book is really interesting。 This wasn't the fun kids read I expected。 It's a choose-your-own-adventure book。 As I was reading, I wanted to see one of the cases closed。 I flipped to a page, (view spoiler)[where Otto (the criminal who has been sending death threats) pushes Carlos off a bridge, where he plunges into the water and is eaten by an alligator。 (hide spoiler)] Even though there were some scary cases closed, I still really liked this book, and I think you would too。 This book is really interesting。 This wasn't the fun kids read I expected。 It's a choose-your-own-adventure book。 As I was reading, I wanted to see one of the cases closed。 I flipped to a page, (view spoiler)[where Otto (the criminal who has been sending death threats) pushes Carlos off a bridge, where he plunges into the water and is eaten by an alligator。 (hide spoiler)] Even though there were some scary cases closed, I still really liked this book, and I think you would too。 。。。more

I typically read to my 7 yo before bed。 This is not a book for that。 My daughter stayed up so she could choose the course。 She liked the book。 Even though she failed the case a few times she wanted to get back to it。 I kept having to remind her why Carlos was hired in the first place。 She likes puzzles and mysteries so this book was right up her alley。

Mystery in the Mansion is a fun book where someone is threatening Guinevere LeCavelier's life, and Eliza, Frank, and Carlos have to find out who it is before they actually do those death threats。 Every few pages there are choices you need to make as far as solving the mystery。 You will be directed to a different page where the story continues, and if you make a poor choice, then "Case Closed。" I kind of like it when Carlos' mom talks funny because she's sick。 If you like mystery books, you'll pr Mystery in the Mansion is a fun book where someone is threatening Guinevere LeCavelier's life, and Eliza, Frank, and Carlos have to find out who it is before they actually do those death threats。 Every few pages there are choices you need to make as far as solving the mystery。 You will be directed to a different page where the story continues, and if you make a poor choice, then "Case Closed。" I kind of like it when Carlos' mom talks funny because she's sick。 If you like mystery books, you'll probably like this one。 If you like choose-your-own-adventure, this is a good example of the genre。 。。。more

This is a very action packed book filled with mystery and puzzles。 It would be a great book to read to a 4th or 5th grade class because of its intriguing investigation that would draw them in to keep reading。

I read several different conclusions with the kids- they wound up reading some on their own。 They got into it。 They laughed quite a bit too。 Not sure so much about the actual story but the kids liked it!

This book has to have been one of the best "Choose Your Own Adventure" style books I have ever read。 I love interactive books, and I am always searching for more。 When I came across Mystery in the Mansion, I just knew I had to try it。 This book exceded all of my expectations。 I loved how it was full of twists and turns, and how each part you read brought a little more to the story。 The puzzles had to have been my favorite part, though。 They added something extra to the story。 I also enjoyed the This book has to have been one of the best "Choose Your Own Adventure" style books I have ever read。 I love interactive books, and I am always searching for more。 When I came across Mystery in the Mansion, I just knew I had to try it。 This book exceded all of my expectations。 I loved how it was full of twists and turns, and how each part you read brought a little more to the story。 The puzzles had to have been my favorite part, though。 They added something extra to the story。 I also enjoyed the length of this book。 Most "Choose Your Own Adventure" books are short stories or novellas, but Mystery in the Mansion was a full 300+ page novel。 Because of the length, there are so many different endings and paths。 It was so fun trying out each choice and seeing where it led me。 Overall, Mystery in the Mansion is an incredible book that will take you through a intriguing mystery you'll want to read again and again。 。。。more
