Summary

This summer, Reese Camden is trading sweet tea and Southern hospitality for cold brew and crisp coastal air。 She's landed her dream marketing internship at Friends of Flavor, a wildly popular cooking channel in Seattle。 The only problem? Benny Beneventi, the relentlessly charming, backwards-baseball-cap-wearing culinary intern--and her main competition for the fall job。

Reese's plan to keep work a No Feelings Zone crumbles like a day-old muffin when she and Benny are thrown together for a video shoot that goes viral, making them the internet's newest ship。 Audiences are hungry for more, and their bosses at Friends of Flavor are happy to deliver。 Soon Reese and Benny are in an all-out food war, churning homemade ice cream, twisting soft pretzels, breaking eggs in an omelet showdown--while hundreds of thousands of viewers watch。

Reese can't deny the chemistry between her and Benny。 But the more their rivalry heats up, the harder it is to keep love on the back burner。。。

This was a little TOO sweet - very readable and I liked the characters well enough, I just never felt like there was a enough substance to really root for anybody。

DNFI only read, like, 25 pages and those were enough。 The main character gave me second hand embarrassment。 The writing was bad, I could tell this was the first book of the writer。 But this book felt more like a manuscript than a novel。 She should have written two more drafts, IMO。 Oh, and I was surprised to learn the characters were teenagers because they talked like millennials。 Anyway, maybe I'm being too judgy, but I'm not going to read something I don't enjoy。 I think this just made my read DNFI only read, like, 25 pages and those were enough。 The main character gave me second hand embarrassment。 The writing was bad, I could tell this was the first book of the writer。 But this book felt more like a manuscript than a novel。 She should have written two more drafts, IMO。 Oh, and I was surprised to learn the characters were teenagers because they talked like millennials。 Anyway, maybe I'm being too judgy, but I'm not going to read something I don't enjoy。 I think this just made my reader's block worse, lmao :´) 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I really like the plot idea, it’s a unique concept。 But I think the chemistry between Reese and Benny didn’t do it for me。 Benny didn’t feel 3D。 He was so cute, kind, and all, but it also felt like he was programmed to be nice。Reese is nice and she has her own problems。 I actually like her layers, but she used her insecurities as a shield and then, there wasn’t a moment she actually overcame them? I think the ending was a bit rushed in that sense。I still think it was a good book and sweet。 And t I really like the plot idea, it’s a unique concept。 But I think the chemistry between Reese and Benny didn’t do it for me。 Benny didn’t feel 3D。 He was so cute, kind, and all, but it also felt like he was programmed to be nice。Reese is nice and she has her own problems。 I actually like her layers, but she used her insecurities as a shield and then, there wasn’t a moment she actually overcame them? I really don’t know what to rate this book。 I have such mixed feelings about it。。 first of all, I loved a lot of it。 Benny was ADORABLE。 I loved him so much。 This quote: ”I LOVE REESE CAMDEN! Who wants cake?” SO funny (probably only funny if you’ve read the book) The fact that he called Reese “Reese’s Cup” and “Reese’s Pieces” was so cute!! He was the sweetest and most understanding character! I loved the baking/cooking show aspect of the book + the dialogue between Benny and Reese was soo cute。 I really don’t know what to rate this book。 I have such mixed feelings about it。。 first of all, I loved a lot of it。 Benny was ADORABLE。 I loved him so much。 This quote: ”I LOVE REESE CAMDEN! Adorable Then there was some parts I didn’t really like that much-Reese wasn’t my favorite。 She did/said a lot of things that I didn’t agree with。 she was so rude to Benny for the first part of the book and it honestly kinda annoyed me bc Benny was nothing but sweet to her!! I get she was insecure about her past but still。 And later on how she handled the internship thing。。 I also didn’t enjoy that。 But towards the end, I really did start to like her more。 I also didn’t like the online comments about Reese (I get it’s reality but I didn’t enjoy reading about it)I LOVED Benny and Reese together and I overall did like the book, I just didn’t really enjoy reading about some of the topics covered 。。。more

This was cute。 I love anything to do with food in a romance。 And I appreciated the commentary regarding women in the workplace and their struggle。 Overall, though, something about the romance fell flat for me。

Love from Scratch by Kaitlyn Hill is an enemies to friends to lovers set in a content creator industry called Friends of Flavours。 The two interns, Reese and Benny were thrown together to create a new segment Amateur Hours and despite competing for the fall internship spot, they couldn't deny their true feelings and fall madly in love。 They bantered, laughed and joked but most importantly, they brought along change that should've been done a long time ago。 At first, I really thought this was a r Love from Scratch by Kaitlyn Hill is an enemies to friends to lovers set in a content creator industry called Friends of Flavours。 The two interns, Reese and Benny were thrown together to create a new segment Amateur Hours and despite competing for the fall internship spot, they couldn't deny their true feelings and fall madly in love。 They bantered, laughed and joked but most importantly, they brought along change that should've been done a long time ago。 At first, I really thought this was a romance book especially based on how the cover presented itself。 But nope, I was wrong。 This is actually a YA book but romance does play a huge role。 I absolutely adore Reese and Benny's relationship especially Benny, he is literally dreamy and the perfect fictional boyfriend。 I think he has done his all to be the best but he still managed to surprise everyone by the live he hosted towards the end of the book。 He is so understanding and patient that he's willing to do anything to fight for her girl。Reese at times has her own internal struggles that she definitely needs a professional to help her。 It sucks by what she has to go through, the double standard between her and Benny when they're doing the same thing。 I'm just glad that there are people around her that would go miles to protect her and make it right again。 There were times when this story kinda bored me, I have to be honest。 But the raw and swoon worthy relationship they had going on was what has managed to remain invested by the story。 Though I do hoped that Reese would not take Benny for granted anymore and treat him as he deserves。 Just like how Benny is with her。All in all, this was a sweet and cute book。 Just remember to focus on the good and positive things and let go of the bad and negative because they're not worth mulling over。 And so, I would recommend you to read this book just because of Benny because he is literally just perfect。 Definitely one we can add to our never ending list of book boyfriends, am I right ladies? 。。。more

There was quite a bit of telling for the first 3rd of the book。 Unfortunately, it is difficult to sink into the story if that is the case。 I love food centric plots and this was okay。 I didn’t understand why there was only one internship for the fall。 Marketing and food are two completely different departments and it didn’t make sense at all。 I do love other messages in books to call out things like the patrichary, but this became overwhelming more about that than the romance。 It just didn’t wor There was quite a bit of telling for the first 3rd of the book。 Unfortunately, it is difficult to sink into the story if that is the case。 I love food centric plots and this was okay。 I didn’t understand why there was only one internship for the fall。 Marketing and food are two completely different departments and it didn’t make sense at all。 I do love other messages in books to call out things like the patrichary, but this became overwhelming more about that than the romance。 It just didn’t work for me。 。。。more

That was a really cute, light story 。。 but damn reese is such a drama queen So the story is about Reese and Benny, they become coworkers in an intern at a cooking channel where they shoot together a sketch name " Amateur Hour ", at first they are in competition mode because they are competing for a permanent position in the channel but as the banter goes on and people are shipping them so hard they start to become more, but Reese has such an emotional baggage related to her being a girl in a soc That was a really cute, light story 。。 but damn reese is such a drama queen So the story is about Reese and Benny, they become coworkers in an intern at a cooking channel where they shoot together a sketch name " Amateur Hour ", at first they are in competition mode because they are competing for a permanent position in the channel but as the banter goes on and people are shipping them so hard they start to become more, but Reese has such an emotional baggage related to her being a girl in a society that criticize her for everything she does, how will she overcome her insecurity in light of it all ? I liked the idea of the book and the Benny is such a sweet cake ( pun intended ) but Reese was really hard to deal with, she can't find a more understanding person than Benny yet she always jumps to conclusion when it comes to him because she is jealous of him 。。 I liked the ending but I would liked to see more development in her character because she is still a drama queen until the very end 。。。more

4。5this was a wonderfully sweet and fluffy ya romance。 i read almost all of this book in one day。 i couldn’t put it down, but i was also just so sweet and heartwarming。 the romance itself was so sweet。 this book was very fluffy, but a major part of it was about more serious topics like the patriarchy and women’s rights。 this book was a really, really well done romance。 i overall really enjoyed this book!

I absolutely adored this book。 It took me a bit to warm up to Reese as a character, but she grew on me in the end。 And don't even get me started on my dear, sweet little cinnamon roll Roberto Benny Beneventi *big swoon*。 Full of romance, feminism, and lots of yummy food, this book was a definite would read (or listen to, if not simply for the Southern accent) again。 I absolutely adored this book。 It took me a bit to warm up to Reese as a character, but she grew on me in the end。 And don't even get me started on my dear, sweet little cinnamon roll Roberto Benny Beneventi *big swoon*。 Full of romance, feminism, and lots of yummy food, this book was a definite would read (or listen to, if not simply for the Southern accent) again。 。。。more

OMG! This book was adorable! I loved Benny and Reese so much。 Kaitlyn HIll is a genius no lie。 I thought this book was amazing from start to finish。 The plot was so good and the themes of feminism were just the icing on the cake (Pun intended) I loved watching Reese develop throughout this novel。 I thought her growth was so well written。 I loved Benny to! I thought he was so cute and he cared for Reese so much。 I loved this and I would definitely recommend it。
