Summary

Did you know that Argentinosaurus was as heavy as a herd of elephants? That Mosasaurus was three times the length of a great white shark? That Microraptor was the size of a pigeon but with four wings? This magnificent book imagines dinosaurs as they might well have been, based on recent findings— feathered, finned, and full of color。 Gorgeous watercolors accompany surprising, little-known, and fun-to-tell facts about dinosaur behavior, habits, and appearance, bringing these prehistoric creatures to life in a new way。 This fascinating book will delight dinosaur fans, young and old。

I read this with my son EVERY NIGHT。 We usually do half the book a night as it’s lengthy。 It’s his absolute favorite。 He’s 4。

An interesting little book about some of the many dinosaurs, great for all children who want to know more and for adults that have forgotten but still love dinosaurs。

'Colorful World of Dinosaurs' with text and illustrations by Matt Sewell is a picture book of watercolored dinosaurs and facts。There is a lot we don't know about dinosaurs。 We don't know how they sounded or what color they might have been。 This book paints dinosaurs in all kinds of colors。 They also get 2 pages for mostly illustration and for a few paragraphs of facts。 This was a fun way to learn about dinosaurs。 I liked the facts and I loved the illustrations。I received a review copy of this eb 'Colorful World of Dinosaurs' with text and illustrations by Matt Sewell is a picture book of watercolored dinosaurs and facts。There is a lot we don't know about dinosaurs。 We don't know how they sounded or what color they might have been。 This book paints dinosaurs in all kinds of colors。 They also get 2 pages for mostly illustration and for a few paragraphs of facts。 This was a fun way to learn about dinosaurs。 I liked the facts and I loved the illustrations。I received a review copy of this ebook from Princeton Architectural Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook。 。。。more

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 A good book for those that love dinosaurs。 Lots of colorful illustrations。 Not sure which age it would appeal to most。 Probably older than kindergarten。

Colorful yes, but unsure of its audience age, as illustrations are geared to young readers while text goes beyond their comprehension level。 I generally love the offerings from Princeton Architectural Press, but believe this one still needs work。 Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy。 Opinions are mine。 #TheColorfulWorldOfDinosaurs #NetGalley。 Pub Date 09 Oct 2018。

I found that this book doesn't have a clear audience, with detailed information for older readers but simple drawings for younger readers。 There are much better dinosaur books out there, with more authentic graphics。 I found that this book doesn't have a clear audience, with detailed information for older readers but simple drawings for younger readers。 There are much better dinosaur books out there, with more authentic graphics。 。。。more

Almost a hundred pages of simplified, water-color illustrations and facts about dinosaurs。 There were some species I didn't know。 I prefer stories, so I got bored quickly, but my kids love dinosaurs and were perfectly happy to flip through it, then start over and flip through it again。 Almost a hundred pages of simplified, water-color illustrations and facts about dinosaurs。 There were some species I didn't know。 I prefer stories, so I got bored quickly, but my kids love dinosaurs and were perfectly happy to flip through it, then start over and flip through it again。 。。。more

My toddlers are in a dinosaur phase so going through each page and talking about the color, shape and name of each dino was a big hit for them。 A fun read。

Zo zoet! Zo lief! Review first posted at https://twirlingbookprincess。com/ 。。。more

Colorful, indeed, and good introductory information about a variety of dinosaurs from the Triassic, Jurassic, and Creatceous periods。

This was a good book for learning a little bit about many types of dinosaurs。What I liked:The illustrations were fairly one-dimensional, but still lovely and of course very colorful。 Many different types of dinosaurs are featured here, from standbys like tyrannosaurus and triceratops to dinosaurs I'd never heard of before, like nomingia and amargasaurus。Each page features one dinosaur (or two similar ones) and lists its length, weight, time period, and diet, and gives some general information ab This was a good book for learning a little bit about many types of dinosaurs。What I liked:The illustrations were fairly one-dimensional, but still lovely and of course very colorful。 Many different types of dinosaurs are featured here, from standbys like tyrannosaurus and triceratops to dinosaurs I'd never heard of before, like nomingia and amargasaurus。Each page features one dinosaur (or two similar ones) and lists its length, weight, time period, and diet, and gives some general information about the dinosaur, such as where its fossils were found。 The beginning of the book has a page that explains some about time periods, dinosaur classification families, and diets。What I didn't like:There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the organization here, and considering this is more than 90 pages, it would have been nice if it had at least been alphabetical, or organized by time period or body type or something that would help find a dinosaur more easily。The text on each page is usually interesting, but the font is very small, and sometimes it veers from factual information to random statements like noting that a particular dinosaur would get its head stuck between the rails on a school playground。 Also, as much as I do like the illustrations, the idea of coloring dinosaurs in nontraditional ways isn't exactly new。Still, a dinosaur-loving kid would probably enjoy this book as a reference and as a way to look at pictures of dinosaurs。(Thanks to NetGalley for the review copy。) 。。。more

Strange mixed of small written information for slightly older reader and illustrations (like kid drawing) of dinosaurs, that maybe very little children may enjoy。 Older reader deserve better illustrations and younger one might enjoy bigger and even more basic information。 Fail!

After a short introduction to dinosaurs, prehistory, and terminology, this book launches readers into an amazing world of dinosauria and their kindred creatures of the air and sea。 The book is organized into two-page spreads for the most part, with a brightly colored illustration of a dinosaur on one page and a paragraph-length description of it on the facing page。 Fascinating facts are interspersed with occasional humorous observations -- a nice combination!A fine introduction to the dinosaur w After a short introduction to dinosaurs, prehistory, and terminology, this book launches readers into an amazing world of dinosauria and their kindred creatures of the air and sea。 The book is organized into two-page spreads for the most part, with a brightly colored illustration of a dinosaur on one page and a paragraph-length description of it on the facing page。 Fascinating facts are interspersed with occasional humorous observations -- a nice combination!A fine introduction to the dinosaur world for readers of all ages -- a great book for children and adults to enjoy together! 。。。more
