Summary

Two sisters。 One throne。 Who will ultimately rise to power and wear the crown?

Wren Greenrock has always known that one day she would steal her sister’s place in the palace。 Trained from birth to avenge her parents’ murder and usurp the princess, she will do anything to rise to power and protect the community of witches she loves。

Princess Rose Valhart knows that with power comes responsibility including marriage into a brutal kingdom。 Life outside the palace walls is a place to be feared and she is soon to discover that it’s wilder than she ever imagined。

Twin sisters separated at birth and raised into entirely different worlds are about to get to know each other’s lives a whole lot better…

Twin Crowns was such a delightful fantasy that I absolutely devoured。 It's fun (and funny), but also a really great fantasy story。 And look, perhaps it isn't particularly groundbreaking, but I enjoyed it, I was thoroughly entertained, and frankly, that is all that matters。 Especially to me。I loved the characters, and found them to be really well-developed, even the more minor characters。 Wren and Rose were separated at birth, Rose not even knowing that she had a sister until after she's been kid Twin Crowns was such a delightful fantasy that I absolutely devoured。 It's fun (and funny), but also a really great fantasy story。 And look, perhaps it isn't particularly groundbreaking, but I enjoyed it, I was thoroughly entertained, and frankly, that is all that matters。 Especially to me。I loved the characters, and found them to be really well-developed, even the more minor characters。 Wren and Rose were separated at birth, Rose not even knowing that she had a sister until after she's been kidnapped。 Wren, however, has always known that her role is to take Rose's place as queen。 Both girls are absolutely delightful, in their own, very different ways。 And I also loved their romantic interests, too。 I won't say too much about that, because it's more fun to figure out who is in love with who on your own, yeah? There's magic, a wonderful coven of witches waiting for their chance to return to the world, and a lot of antics that will really endear you to both Wren and Rose。 And really, the story is just plain entertaining。 I flew through it, definitely invested in Wren and Rose's stories, as well as their relationships。 Sure, some things were predictable, but it didn't particularly bother me while reading。I absolutely look forward to reading the next installment of this series, which was both great fun and super easy to read!Bottom Line: It's fun, it's swoony, and it's just plain delightful! You can find the full review and all the fancy and/or randomness that accompanies it at It Starts at Midnight 。。。more

Wow! As a huge fan of The Princess Bride, I was skeptical of a book toting similar vibes, but Twin Crowns delivers。 From the sass and wit to the magic, I was hooked from the first chapter to the last。 I highly recommend this book to fans of fantasy, romance, humor, or anyone looking for a fun read。

。。。more

None at all。This book captivated me from the off, there are so many good features that draw you in。 We have our two polar opposite sisters, Rose who was brought up with decorum, to believe she would be queen and witches killed her parents with no idea that she actually has a sister Wren who knows who killed her parents, the same person who is currently looking after her sister who she does know exists。 Oh yeah, and both sisters are witches but Rose is supposed to hate them right? The sarcasm and banter throughout was so good, mostly from Wren and Shen but Rose started to get a little bit sassy the further we got。As if one enemies to lovers trope isn't enough this book blessed us with two! Rose falls for the bandit Shen (who happens to have kidnapped her and done the princess switch with Wren) and Wren falls for Tor who is a guard for the Gevrans who notoriously hate witches。 I do hope we have happy endings for them both, if Tor does not redeem himself from his actions I will be fuming。Elske saving Wren from being killed by a snow leopard rather than leaving with her owner had me so emotional, the loyalty of animals always has me feeling a way。The wedding was certainly something to remember, Ansel doing literally the only remotely useful thing he did throughout the book。The last few chapters were a rollercoaster, so much happened I was caught off guard。My only regret is reading this book so soon after release because I'm now dying for book two to see what happens next 。。。more

Okay, so this was great fun gang。 From the outset I was hooked by the supremely fun, Princess Bridge-esque dialogue and prose style, and by the end I felt really invested in Wren & Rose’s fates。Twin Crowns by Katherine Webber and Catherine Doyle follows twins Rose and Wren, separated by birth, and fighting for the throne of Eana。 Except, Rose doesn’t know about Wren。 Stolen from the palace by daring warrior Shen-Lo, she starts to realise that the story she had been fed by the Kingsbreath about h Okay, so this was great fun gang。 From the outset I was hooked by the supremely fun, Princess Bridge-esque dialogue and prose style, and by the end I felt really invested in Wren & Rose’s fates。Twin Crowns by Katherine Webber and Catherine Doyle follows twins Rose and Wren, separated by birth, and fighting for the throne of Eana。 Except, Rose doesn’t know about Wren。 Stolen from the palace by daring warrior Shen-Lo, she starts to realise that the story she had been fed by the Kingsbreath about her parents murder might not be true。 And in her place stands Wren disguised as her, the twin raised by witches of the coast, determined to kill the Kingsbreath, prevent the marriage alliance between Eana and the north, and bring the witches back to the kingdom。It’s a swoony, magical adventure about growing into your own person, and your power, and falling in love too。 I would have frankly lost my mind if I’d been given a copy of it aged 13, and I feel like so many teenagers will really love it。 It filled me with the nostalgia of watching Parent Trap, Rapunzel, Princess Bride, all the very best Disney movies, and so I think anyone looking for fun escapism will find a lot to love here。Also whew will I never look at honey the same way again。Thank you to Farshore for the proof and gorgeous box。 It’s out Thursday the 12th of May! 。。。more

Was it the most original story ever? No。 Was it heaps of fun? Absolutely。 Normally I'm not really a fan of dual pov because sooner or later, I start getting annoyed by one of them。 This wasn't the case here。 Both sisters have their own voice, and their stories are equally appealing to me。 I really like this one。 Was it the most original story ever? I went into this with high hopes as I've seen so much praise for this going around, but somehow this fell a bit short of that expectation。 Honestly, while I do like some of the tropes in this, it just didn't feel like there was much beyond those tropes, and it didn't really stand out from the many other books in the genre。 I went into this with high hopes as I've seen so much praise for this going around, but somehow this fell a bit short of that expectation。 Honestly, while I do like some of the tropes in this, it just didn't feel like there was much beyond those tropes, and it didn't really stand out from the many other books in the genre。 。。。more

3。5/5Super easy read, I finished to this book quicker than most, it would of been quicker had there been less Rose chapters。 I love the concept but found the relationship developments lacking, its almost concerning how trusting all these people are 🤷‍♀️。 There was a big opportunity to really build this world in depth in earlier chapters, I'm a right sucker for traveling in magical worlds (think Eragon), but this felt like a half hearted attempt。I plan to still read book 2, having high hopes this 3。5/5Super easy read, I finished to this book quicker than most, it would of been quicker had there been less Rose chapters。 I love the concept but found the relationship developments lacking, its almost concerning how trusting all these people are 🤷‍♀️。 There was a big opportunity to really build this world in depth in earlier chapters, I'm a right sucker for traveling in magical worlds (think Eragon), but this felt like a half hearted attempt。I plan to still read book 2, having high hopes this might be similar feelings I had when I read the first book of ACOTAR (I didn't get the hype until ACOMAF)。 I also hope Rose develops more of a personality。 This is definitley a crowd pleaser, especially for younger audiences and I know 14 year old me would of been throwing this book at my friend's to read immediately。 。。。more
