All “habits” covered in this book are a sum of many other self development books out there。 Sometimes hard to conceive due to author’s choice of words, the ideas are actually quite simple in their essence, but not so easy to implement, though well worth trying。 I feel like I will need a summary of the book, or some other material highlighting the habits to help me really absorb the information better for a longer period of time (why did I not take notes? 。。more

It’s been 25 years since I first studied this book。 I’m understanding it differently as I listen to it and revisit the habits and how they apply to my life!

I didn't agree with everything in this book, but I really liked it。 There are a lot of great principles in here that are great to apply。 My issue with it is that most of this stuff, were things I had already learned about from other sources。 I think if I had read this book when it came out MANY years ago, it would have been mind-blowing。 But reading it so many years after it came out, I think a lot of books and such on productivity have borrowed from these ideas put forth in the book。 I didn't agree with everything in this book, but I really liked it。 There are a lot of great principles in here that are great to apply。 My issue with it is that most of this stuff, were things I had already learned about from other sources。 I think if I had read this book when it came out MANY years ago, it would have been mind-blowing。 But reading it so many years after it came out, I think a lot of books and such on productivity have borrowed from these ideas put forth in the book。 。。。more

I found this book to be helpful and applicable immediately in multiple areas of my life。 I found that the habits presented are easily digestible and relatable to increase the level of self-awareness in your daily activities。 The diagrams and images presented helped me understand more fully the material Mr。 Covey is presenting。 I was surprised to learn that this book was published in 1989, I never checked the pub。 date and dove right in thinking it was a newer book。 Very helpful and I recommend t I found this book to be helpful and applicable immediately in multiple areas of my life。 I found that the habits presented are easily digestible and relatable to increase the level of self-awareness in your daily activities。 The diagrams and images presented helped me understand more fully the material Mr。 Covey is presenting。 I was surprised to learn that this book was published in 1989, I never checked the pub。 date and dove right in thinking it was a newer book。 Very helpful and I recommend this book to those who may have found a bit of momentum to make positive changes in your life, and to enhance and reinforce that momentum into a habit。 。。。more

Listened to this one on Audiobook and yet another American narrating unfortunately! However, more importantly, I found this to be a hugely beneficial and enlightening book。 It actually really surprised me as it was not the sort of thing I was originally expecting。 I anticipated it to list quite specific points regarding business / productivity whereas the points are actually a lot broader with the intention of applying them to ALL walks of life。The 7 habits acts as a guide in how to improve ones Listened to this one on Audiobook and yet another American narrating unfortunately! However, more importantly, I found this to be a hugely beneficial and enlightening book。 It actually really surprised me as it was not the sort of thing I was originally expecting。 I anticipated it to list quite specific points regarding business / productivity whereas the points are actually a lot broader with the intention of applying them to ALL walks of life。The 7 habits acts as a guide in how to improve ones life as a whole, helping you to improve your relationship with yourself, spouses, family, colleagues and human beings as a whole。 The book has provoked me to look inwards (this being one of the themes in one of the habits, looking outside-in) and to reassess how I wish to live my life, in less of a career sense and more of a moral and principle sense。Covey divides the habits into two sections, firstly dealing with habits to apply to yourself as an individual and then secondly habits to be applied when dealing with others。 He stresses the importance of Integrity, co-operation, empathy, self improvement and communication throughout, with the 7 habits all coming together to help one form an effective and more importantly happy and well balanced life。 To summarise I think this is a very refreshing book that holds some wholesome information that would improve the meaning to the majority of peoples lives, helping to improve your relationships with your family, friends and people in general。 It helps you realise what you prioritise in life, and how you should base your life around these priorities。Safe to say I would advise this book to all。 。。。more

This book has so many great life lessons and contains some of my favourite quotes。 Definitely worth a read⭐️ It is, however, a book which requires your undivided attention- not something to read with distractions in the background。 I found that Covey likes to illustrate his points using stories。 This is a good way to explain things but sometimes one point is explained using multiple consecutive stories。 I ended up skipping some pages because I personally didn’t need to read the extra stories to This book has so many great life lessons and contains some of my favourite quotes。 Definitely worth a read⭐️ It is, however, a book which requires your undivided attention- not something to read with distractions in the background。 I found that Covey likes to illustrate his points using stories。 This is a good way to explain things but sometimes one point is explained using multiple consecutive stories。 I ended up skipping some pages because I personally didn’t need to read the extra stories to appreciate the lesson he was teaching :) 。。。more
