My son really enjoyed reading this book at bed time and acting at the animal moves。 He got a little loud and energized before bed time。 So my son has to take a few more minutes to calm down and go to sleep。 Which meant more books to read…

Genre: Contemporary Realistic FictionGrade Range: PreK - 1stThis is a really cute book！ I LOVED the illustrations in this book。 The textures and the colors that the illustrations had were very unique。 I really liked that the animals changed in the book， but also the children。 Every page had a different child on it with a different race or ethnicity。 This book would be really fun to read with young children as the children could try doing the motions asked in the question。

I am a reader and I can see incoherence between text and illustrations。 Can you see it？ The animal pictured is clearly a sealion， but the text says seal。 My kindergarten kids also pointed out the discrepancy。 Eric Carle needs to learn to distinguish marine mammals。
