I listened to this and really enjoyed the banter, the history and the stories。

Jill

A humorous and self indulgent story of two friends traveling the Scottish countryside。 Long on historic facts and self deprecating humor。 Worth listening to as an audio book if you’re an outlander fan!

Diana Bustamante

A lovely companion to their tv show。 Lots more details of history and lovable repartee between the costars。

I noticed in many of the reviews to listen to the audiobook。 I agree for several reasons。 Listening to Sam and Graham just makes the book less confusing as to whom is speaking as well as funnier。

I just loved listening to these two talk to me in the audio version。

Lorissa

Highly recommend the audio for a good laugh。

Extremely fun, and the perfect read for fans of the Outlander show。 You will get the most joy from listening to the audiobook, it seems like two friends messing around with a vague goal and fun all the way。 Such a mood booster!

Let's start with the fact that I am not much of a fan non fiction。 Did I read this because of Heughan and Mctavish, maybe。 But more than that, I do love - and I mean, I've got a Tattoo that shows that - Scotland and trips, especially road trips。 I've been to Scotland a few times and the second, literally I've stepped foot outside the train station in Edinburgh I've realised that that's my favourite country in the world。 The history of the country is full of rich traditions, so many foods and mus Let's start with the fact that I am not much of a fan non fiction。 Did I read this because of Heughan and Mctavish, maybe。 But more than that, I do love - and I mean, I've got a Tattoo that shows that - Scotland and trips, especially road trips。 I've been to Scotland a few times and the second, literally I've stepped foot outside the train station in Edinburgh I've realised that that's my favourite country in the world。 The history of the country is full of rich traditions, so many foods and music! But what I loved the most was the scenery。 I walked around Edinburgh, roaming the streets, touristy and not so touristy and was so surprised with how much you can learn just by observing。 And you can see history everywhere, imagining what it would be like centuries ago in those very same spots。 And though I am a fan of cities, I am a nature lover。 Me and a friend went on one of those highland tours and I could just live there。 So reading this adventure of theirs I've remembered my own。 Walking around a snowy Glencoe, or my boat ride in Loch Ness - yes, looking of Nessie - basically doing a few of the things they did。 I've been planning another trip to Scotland soon and why not a road trip, I little bit inspired in this tour of theirs。 Reading this book was a journey itself, imagining the scenery I didn't know, the adventures they lived, the amazing food they had, and of course drinking as much as them。 And most of all, actually learning a bit more of this rich history of the clans and the lands that in more than one way, have a special place in my heart。 。。。more

Anyone who knows me knows I do not like Outlander with a passion, however, I do like the actors from the show and I LOVE history。 This book was hilarious, and full of Scottish history and I loved it。

Fun book for fans of the Outlander series。 It's part adventure tale, part history lesson, and part memoir。 Sam and Graham are a dynamic duo。 Haven't watched the Men In Kilts series, the filming of which is the basis for the book, but will soon! A mix of history and humor that is so thoroughly enjoyable! The authors are laugh out loud funny while also showing reverence for the important historical places and events that shaped Scotland and it’s people。 A great read!

I’m glad I went for the audiobook on this one!

I don’t normally read non fiction but since I’m a big Outlander fan I decided to give it a try。 I thoroughly enjoyed learning about Scottish history and more about Sam and Graham。 There were quite a few laugh out loud moments as well as some fun behind the scenes Outlander moments!

First, I need to start off by saying that I love #Outlander。 I’ve read the books and watched the show and love them both with all my heart, so I was super excited to listen #Clanlands: Whiskey, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other by Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish, and Charlotte Reather as an audiobook。 Honestly, the audiobook version was the way to go。 I love the fact that Sam and Graham narrated it because their accents and personalities shine through to make the experience a bit more First, I need to start off by saying that I love #Outlander。 I’ve read the books and watched the show and love them both with all my heart, so I was super excited to listen #Clanlands: Whiskey, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other by Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish, and Charlotte Reather as an audiobook。 Honestly, the audiobook version was the way to go。 I love the fact that Sam and Graham narrated it because their accents and personalities shine through to make the experience a bit more enjoyable。 I truly don’t think I could’ve read the physical book。 What I loved most was learning about the Scotland’s history and I also liked hearing the stories Sam and Graham shared about their experience filming Outlander。 However, while I did enjoy the book, something about it fell short for me。 Upon reflection, I feel like the book was a bit “gimmicky” for lack of a better word。 While Scottish history is included, there is a lot of banter between the two actors that is not as funny as I think it was intended to be。 In all honesty, I feel like the book was an opportunity to bank on their large fan base。 Which, sadly, left me with a feeling of disappointment。 。。。more

Half a book, half promotion。 I was attracted to the book due to an interest in Scottish history, I had an ancestor at Culloden。 I thought the concept of a tour and banter as the method of storytelling would make an easier read than the history books which can be very dry。 All of this was correct。 What I did not plan on was the constant promotion of Outlander and the authors acting history and contacts。 I read the first Outlander book and watched the first episode of the TV series but could not g Half a book, half promotion。 I was attracted to the book due to an interest in Scottish history, I had an ancestor at Culloden。 I thought the concept of a tour and banter as the method of storytelling would make an easier read than the history books which can be very dry。 All of this was correct。 What I did not plan on was the constant promotion of Outlander and the authors acting history and contacts。 I read the first Outlander book and watched the first episode of the TV series but could not get past the magic and fantasy of time travel which for me spoilt a good story。 If the authors had just stuck to the tour, banter and history it would have been a great book。 。。。more

Having not read Outlander or seen the TV series I was worried I would be lost, while I didn’t catch every reference I loved the energy between these two。 Funny while still covering Scotlands history I found myself laughing out loud!
