Summary

She was the face that launched a thousand ships,
The fierce beauty at the heart of Olympus,
And she was never ours to claim。

In Olympus, you either have the power to rule。。。 or you are ruled。 Achilles Kallis may have been born with nothing, but as a child he vowed he would claw his way into the poisonous city's inner circle。 Now that a coveted role has opened to anyone with the strength to claim it, he and his partner, Patroclus Fotos, plan to compete and double their odds of winning。

Neither expect infamous beauty Helen Kasios to be part of the prize。。。 or for the complicated fire that burns the moment she looks their way。

Zeus may have decided Helen is his to give to away, but she has her own plans。 She enters into the competition as a middle finger to the meddling Thirteen rulers, effectively vying for her own hand in marriage。 Unfortunately, there are those who would rather see her dead than lead the city。 The only people she can trust are the ones she can't keep her hands off—Achilles and Patroclus。 But can she really believe they have her best interests at heart when every stolen kiss is a battlefield?

A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Helen of Troy, Achilles, and Patroclus that's as sinful as it is sweet。

Katee Roberts Spicy Mythology takes on Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen in her latest romance。 When the title of Ares is up for grabs, Achilles and Patroclus enter the competitive trials with every plan to win。 However, when Helen is blindsided by her Brother, the new Zeus, and offered up in marriage as part of the prize, she has her own plans to enter the competition and to win。 There is plenty of intrigue and the usual chaos of politics, but also a story about how the heart wants what it wants。 T Katee Roberts Spicy Mythology takes on Achilles, Patroclus, and Helen in her latest romance。 When the title of Ares is up for grabs, Achilles and Patroclus enter the competitive trials with every plan to win。 However, when Helen is blindsided by her Brother, the new Zeus, and offered up in marriage as part of the prize, she has her own plans to enter the competition and to win。 There is plenty of intrigue and the usual chaos of politics, but also a story about how the heart wants what it wants。 The trio compete for the title and also for the future they want together as a throuple。 A good summer read! **I was given this book by Net Galley in exchange for an honest review ** 。。。more

My biggest complaint is that I want MORE。 This book made me fall in love with the characters and their dynamics and then had the audacity to end。

Wicked Beauty is book three of the Dark Olympus series。 I want to start out by saying that this book gave me major Hunger Games vibes! I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Katee Robert and this book did not disappoint!I felt heartbroken for Helen for the way she was treated by her family and how everyone underestimated her。 She ended up being a total bada$$ and is one of my favorite FMCs! She wasn’t going to sit around and be used as a pawn, she wanted in on the action and wants the title of Ares。 Wicked Beauty is book three of the Dark Olympus series。 I want to start out by saying that this book gave me major Hunger Games vibes! This book had action, betrayal, great world building, mystery, drama, and so much spice! The one thing I love most about Kate’s writing is her world building。 She makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the action! And she knows how to bring the spice! This book had me on the edge of my seat all the way through…if it wasn’t from the action, it was the spice! I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series! 。。。more

I liked the story, but i still feel like there's something missing。 。。。more

It’s unfortunate this book has to exist in the same universe as The Song of Achilles。 Every new installment in Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series muddles the absolute baffling worldbuilding of this pseudo-ancient Greek modern society… which is exactly as confusing as it sounds。 Nobody asked for a retelling of the Trojan war in which Helen of Troy is cast in a threesome between Achilles and Patroclus。 Actually, I think you could have cast any character in the Iliad other than Helen in this role a It’s unfortunate this book has to exist in the same universe as The Song of Achilles。 Every new installment in Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series muddles the absolute baffling worldbuilding of this pseudo-ancient Greek modern society… which is exactly as confusing as it sounds。 Nobody asked for a retelling of the Trojan war in which Helen of Troy is cast in a threesome between Achilles and Patroclus。 Actually, I think you could have cast any character in the Iliad other than Helen in this role and this would have made as much sense。 Maybe even more。 And yes, that includes Paris himself。 There is enemies to lovers。 And then there are people who think each other are hot but have absolutely no emotional connection beyond a vague sense of aggression。 That is Achilles and Helen’s relationship in a nutshell, featuring Patroclus as an afterthought。 It’s hard to pitch this as a romance - threesome or not - when the characters spend more time narrating to the audience how much they are drawn to each other than actually interacting in a healthy, communicative way。 Take me back to Psyche and Eros, please。 Achilles' defining characteristic is that he is good at The Battle, and proud of it。 In all seriousness, I was utterly confused by Roberts decision to cast him as an orphan here when his mother was such a key part of his story arc in the original Iliad。 Perhaps it was to give him some baggage to make his character more than a meathead jock, but this type of “pick and choose” worldbuilding from the original Greek myths becomes incredibly distracting when characters are swapped interchangeably with gods and the lineage of one character is completely ignored for plot convenience。 Helen’s only personality trait is that she wants to prove the world she is not the sheltered, privileged daughter of a powerful family Olympus perceives her to be - which is the exact character arc of Persephone in the first book of the series。 Katee Robert seems to have a type of female protagonist she likes to write。 And while the formula may work for her, I don’t have to like the answer。 Patroclus is the only vaguely tolerable character here, and that’s being generous。 His one defining aspect is his knack for strategy that makes him Super Smart™, which we know because he wears glasses。 We also know this because Achilles and Helen endlessly wax poetic about his intellect despite him doing little to actually prove this up。 Patroclus could have been removed from the trials entirely and Achilles would still have made it to the final round。 Speaking of the trials, let’s not。 This book plays at having a master plot for the trials to become the next Aries as the main conflict for the triage but it’s barely there to the point of blink and you’ll miss it。 The smut scenes are longer than any given trial and the obvious endgame makes the entire ordeal completely lack any kind of narrative tension。 I may need a thorough re-read of The Song of Achilles to cleanse the experience of Wicked Beauty from my mind。 Or maybe I’ll focus my efforts on the upcoming Iliad re-telling Wrath Goddess Sing, which promises to be everything this book was not。 I can say after enjoying the second book in the Dark Olympus series, this is easily the weakest of the three companion works。 And to Katee Robert, I'll say - Perseus and Eris were right there。 Thank you to the publisher Sourcebooks Casablanca for providing an audiobook ARC via NetGalley for an honest review。 。。。more

Can the throuple survive the challenges the tournament sets before them, and what comes after? 。。。more

Another book in the Olympus world of Gods and Goddesses and those who want to be them。 This one features Helen 'Of Troy', Achilles and his BFF Patroclus。 It is a MMF romance so if that's not your jam, you may want to skip this one。 It's a bit of enemies to lovers。 The guys and Helen don't really get a long with each other。 They think she's just an entitled little Princess, and she's made it her mission to prove them, along with everyone else in their world, wrong。 The three are competitors in a Another book in the Olympus world of Gods and Goddesses and those who want to be them。 This one features Helen 'Of Troy', Achilles and his BFF Patroclus。 It is a MMF romance so if that's not your jam, you may want to skip this one。 It's a bit of enemies to lovers。 The guys and Helen don't really get a long with each other。 They think she's just an entitled little Princess, and she's made it her mission to prove them, along with everyone else in their world, wrong。 The three are competitors in a fight for a title that they each want with a passion。 Of course everyone laughs in her face, as Helen has always been just another pretty face。 She is trophy wife material, not a champion。 While they may not get along, there is sexual chemistry like you wouldn't believe。 And these people aren't afraid to give in to the temptation。 So, yeah, it's pretty steamy。 There is some angst there too。 The characters are brilliantly written and feel real。 This is another wonderfully written story that is loosely based of the Greek mythology。 This is book three in the series, but each book can be read as a stand alone, though there may be spoilers to the previous books。 (Each features a different couple/trouple。) Intended for mature readers。 Alternates between POVs。 。。。more

I love Greek mythology but I'm not married to it, so I had not problems with the author taking liberties on the characters and original tales。 Things I that I liked: * The dynamic between Helen, Achilles, and Patroclus。 They just worked as a trio because although they were different, there were similarities that tied one to the other。 * The steam was FIRE。 I was not prepared for it, to be honest。 * The story was interesting and there was a nice wrap up at the end。 Things that lost 'stars': * Again, I was lost on the overall world building。 I just couldn't understand Zeus or Hera's motivations, the actual wall they were talking about, and the random insertion of Hercules being an outcast。 There were just too many sub plots that I didn't understand。 * It got a bit repetitive at times* It left a ton of things unresolved。 Would I recommend this book? I don't know。 I think I will need to read the first 2 books in order to answer this honestly。 Man, would I love to know what the hell happened to Hercules。 。。。more

Reading this book was an experience。 Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert shifts us from Greek Gods to Greek Heroes and how they have been portrayed in the book will blow your mind! After the events of Electric Idols, Helen is the only Kasios sibling who is not part of the Thirteen of Olympus。 Tired of being perceived as only a pretty face, she sets her sight to achieve the recently open position of Ares。The most formidable opponents set her on fire in all ways that count。 Wicked Beauty is the story of Reading this book was an experience。 Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert shifts us from Greek Gods to Greek Heroes and how they have been portrayed in the book will blow your mind! After the events of Electric Idols, Helen is the only Kasios sibling who is not part of the Thirteen of Olympus。 Tired of being perceived as only a pretty face, she sets her sight to achieve the recently open position of Ares。The most formidable opponents set her on fire in all ways that count。 Wicked Beauty is the story of a woman taking charge of her own fate。Achilles and Patroclus are the leads of the story and present 2 sides of the same coin。 Achilles is Executioner, Patroclus is the Strategist, and Helen has been navigating Olympus politics all her life。 They are a team that will be unstoppable if they are not so hard-headed。All books of the Dark Olympus series differ from each other。 While the predecessors focussed on godly myths amongst the differences in way of life in the upper and lower city, Wicked Beauty takes us to the root of traditions in Olympus。I loved the shift in POVs among the characters。 Especially when the scenes got too hot to touch。 The characters of Wicked Beauty are more prone to action than planning and it gives a very fresh take to the series。The action sequences and smut were great。 I am in love with Patroclus。 I see he is a package deal with Achilles, so I’ll take them both; Please! The original Helen did not get a say in her fate。 This Helen does, and she makes the most of it with a one-sided determination that I loved to read。 The entire book was so engaging that I failed to realise it when I neared the end。When the attraction track shifted to romance, I loved the changes in the characters of Helen, Achilles and Patroclus。 The three attain an understanding of each other in a few days when some people cannot understand people they have known their whole lives。 At one point, Patroclus says,“You joke, but Achilles goes into mother-hen mode the same way he goes into a fight。 There’s no winning。”Wicked Beauty has parts where they explore the motivations of each character。 While the protagonists’ motivations have been mentioned through their perspectives, there is also insight into the other contenders in conversation and discussions。In the end, Katee Robert gives us a jolt。 The series is far from over。 We are still waiting for the rest of the Dimitrou sisters’ stories, and one for Hermes and Dionysus。 I will keep my eyes peeled for the updates on this series。Happy Reading! 。。。more

Maybe I'll fuck him until he forgets your name。 That would be quite the trick。What a bloody hot read this was!Neon Gods was super-hot, Electric Idol was a little subtle, but the spice on this one was uncontrollable。It was written in such a sexy BDSM and addictive read。The perfect balance of smut, action, romance, friendship and character growth was hitting all the spots in every chapter。I love that the romance was not the purpose of Helen's story, but it was more focused on who she is as an individual, her strength and what she wants to be doing。The romance was definitely a bonus and something she has to find with trust and being more open with herself knowing what she had gone through。We kind of get the rough idea of who she is, what Olympus brand her as but I wish we get a little more depth and history of her past, relationship with her family and Paris。Achilles and Patroclus, my two sexy men, were WOW。They already had their story and their focused was more towards their end goal of 'victory/fame'。Besides setting boundaries and understanding of their relationship and attraction to Helen。 I love Achilles was the sassy bossy dominant one in the chemistry, while Patroclus is such a gentleman sweetest soul ever。Together, they created such a scary, strong team。The steam scenes were definitely 10/10!Like it was so hot, I need to reread them twice。Like, give me more。 I need an endless amount of them in my life。I enjoyed that all three of them had different personality for Katee to experiment with and balance off everyone's vibe。I wish the ending wasn't straight into a rush。 It could have a few more chapters to get them to settle down, a little more explanation and conversation。I can't wait for the series to continue; I never want it to end。P。s are we seeing another side of Zeus?"It could be like this。 You don't have to pretend with me - with us。 We don't expect perfection。 We just want you。" 。。。more

In this Hunger Games-esque retelling, Achilles is determined to become the new Ares, and he is willing to do anything to get there with the help of his long-time partner, Patroclus。 Helen, the new Zeus’s sister, also wants to be Ares, but when an announcement is made that keeps her from doing so, she must go behind her family’s back to get what she wants。 I have been so honored to receive ARCs of every book in this series so far, and they have all been five stars for me。 I think Electric Idol mi In this Hunger Games-esque retelling, Achilles is determined to become the new Ares, and he is willing to do anything to get there with the help of his long-time partner, Patroclus。 Helen, the new Zeus’s sister, also wants to be Ares, but when an announcement is made that keeps her from doing so, she must go behind her family’s back to get what she wants。 I have been so honored to receive ARCs of every book in this series so far, and they have all been five stars for me。 I think Electric Idol might still be my favorite, but WOW Katee did an amazing job with this newest installment。 Achilles and Patroclus had such a cool relationship, and getting to see their perspective as they got to know Helen and fall in love with her was just wonderful。 There was hate sex, heartwarming and heartbreaking scenes, moments of fear, and so much more throughout this one, and I loved it。 Katee never fails to deliver a spicy story with great action and plot throughout it。 I cannot wait to get a physical copy of this book in my hands!Content warning for sexual content, abuse, loss of parents, mention of miscarriage, violence, blood。 Thanks so much to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC of Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert。 。。。more

Sometimes, when a girl is sick, all she wants is a m/m/f romance thinly, tangentially related to mythology。
