an amazing book。when i started to read this book, i knew it'd be up my alley since i really like the mystery genre。 i literally have never read a book this fast, it was so easy for me to get through this book and that's incredible!also the ending was such a plot twist to me, didn't expect it at all。 it basically wowed me。 definitely reading more of agatha's books in the near future! an amazing book。when i started to read this book, i knew it'd be up my alley since i really like the mystery genre。 i literally have never read a book this fast, it was so easy for me to get through this book and that's incredible!also the ending was such a plot twist to me, didn't expect it at all。 it basically wowed me。 definitely reading more of agatha's books in the near future! 。。。more

Classic Agatha Christie and I loved it。 Did not guess the outcome。 Ten people on an island and they are murdered one by one。 The epilogue was well done as usual。 Fun to read。

Fun, not amazing but short and entertaining, murder mystery and stuff

This book is a classic "whodunnit" and it didn't fail to sleep me guessing who the actual murderer was。 Agatha Christie winds together 10 characters who all are haunted by their past, but there is one member who is at peace with their workings。 I enjoyed guessing who was behind the mastermind work of each individual murder。 I also enjoyed the small poem that intrigued me as I read, trying to use it as a hint to find who was working behind the scenes。 I was near disappointed when the book ended a This book is a classic "whodunnit" and it didn't fail to sleep me guessing who the actual murderer was。 Agatha Christie winds together 10 characters who all are haunted by their past, but there is one member who is at peace with their workings。 I enjoyed guessing who was behind the mastermind work of each individual murder。 I also enjoyed the small poem that intrigued me as I read, trying to use it as a hint to find who was working behind the scenes。 I was near disappointed when the book ended and I saw there was only the epilogue left。 However, I liked the last two chapters that summed up everything that happened and the motive behind each murder。 At once, it became clear who the murderer was and everything fell together。This is a great introduction to Christie and her mastermind work。 。。。more

One of the best mystery books of all time。

This was my first time reading an Agatha Christie novel and I found so much enjoyment in her writing style。 Her slow and descriptive storytelling made sure the suspense was heightened to its maximum degree。 I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through。 It was a perfect murder mystery; One that can be solved before the reveal yet the reveal is still just as satisfactory。

i remember reading a couple(?) agatha christie books when i was quite young and rather enjoying them。 and i’m lucky in that i have almost zero ability to retain memories, so i really came into the highly-recommended and then there were none completely blind when i decided to re-explore the queen of murder mysteries。look, wow。 i hated christie’s writing。 i found it unnatural, cheesy and repetitive。 every time a character “said sharply,” i had to put the book down, which is why it took as long as i remember reading a couple(?) agatha christie books when i was quite young and rather enjoying them。 and i’m lucky in that i have almost zero ability to retain memories, so i really came into the highly-recommended and then there were none completely blind when i decided to re-explore the queen of murder mysteries。look, wow。 i hated christie’s writing。 i found it unnatural, cheesy and repetitive。 every time a character “said sharply,” i had to put the book down, which is why it took as long as it did to read such a short little thing。 i know, i know。 by now the book is quite dated (the change in offensive original title makes that pretty evident) and i’m much more of a contemporary girl myself, but the writing really was my 13th reason here。 i also didn’t think the characters were flushed out enough。 the backstories were quite rushed, and the 6 male guests (minus rogers) all sounded like the same man to me。 i cared little for anyone in the story。having said that, i do enjoy a good whodunnit, particularly locked-room murder mysteries, and i know agatha christie is the queen of 'em。 and this book was a fun read as far as the story goes。 didn't hate the ending, nor did i love it。 i was satisfied。 themes of justice and class and a little sexism were ever present, but i didn’t think it was a story that was “gripping” and full of “psychological terror” as caused by a “complete sociopath,” which i read in some reviews。 in fact, it read a little humorous to me-- like a british clue, minus the wonderfully quirky character。all in all, if you can get past the dated writing (imho), i would say (rather sharply) that and then there were none is a quick and fun read。 。。。more

It’s one of the first books I’ve read in this genre, the first one by AC, so I don’t really have a comparison point。 I must say I was expecting more clues leading to the murderer so I could myself try to solve the mystery (I will probably read it again someday so I can look for the signs I missed)。 Therefore, I will give the author another try with [The Murder of Roger Ackroyd], which may better fit my expectations on the genre。However, I must say: the more I think about that book, the more I li It’s one of the first books I’ve read in this genre, the first one by AC, so I don’t really have a comparison point。 I must say I was expecting more clues leading to the murderer so I could myself try to solve the mystery (I will probably read it again someday so I can look for the signs I missed)。 Therefore, I will give the author another try with [The Murder of Roger Ackroyd], which may better fit my expectations on the genre。However, I must say: the more I think about that book, the more I like it (especially taking into account the time it was published) so maybe I’ll write an update one day… 。。。more

didnt get attached to the characters and plot was not something new for me。 It was definetely unique foe the era it was published but not now。 For the half of the book I was so confused about the character , introducing every character in a fast paced manner t the start isnt my thing。

Finished reading THE MURDER IN ORIENT EXPRESS yesterday, and just when I thought it can't get any better, I stumbled across Agatha Christie's most infamous piece of art AND THEN THERE WERE NONE。 Read this book in a single sitting。 Such a captivating page-turner it was, every chapter, every page was such a delight to read。 Utter exhilaration makes it impossible to not read what comes next。 Thrill reaching a crescendo with every new development, nerves breaking the roof with every new murder。 Terr Finished reading THE MURDER IN ORIENT EXPRESS yesterday, and just when I thought it can't get any better, I stumbled across Agatha Christie's most infamous piece of art AND THEN THERE WERE NONE。 Read this book in a single sitting。 Such a captivating page-turner it was, every chapter, every page was such a delight to read。 Utter exhilaration makes it impossible to not read what comes next。 Thrill reaching a crescendo with every new development, nerves breaking the roof with every new murder。 Terrifying was it!!!。 Ultra-careful was she when writing it。Ten people were summoned to a mansion on soldier island cut off from the village。 Ten people were they when they arrived, and yet none could depart ALIVE。 。。。more

Chilling…as it was when I first read this book about 20 years ago when I was in college。 Excellent on audio - Dan Stevens has fantastic voices for the characters that make you forget someone famous is narrating。 It’s still amazing to me how good Christie was at her craft。 Mystery at its finest。

Sarah Thompson

This book was like Saw the movie in a 1939 book, loveddddd it

Well y’all knowAgatha is clever。 Well written and no bullshit but you know in her books when I am finally confronted with the truth and the mystery is solved, my jaw is not on the floor(even tho I always guess wrong) anyway I chose this book for my book club and I had to read it。 I’m glad I did。 But mystery is really not for me

Tara

Bridgerton murder mystery vibes!

One of those books we read in middle school to dissect。 Loved it! Loved the games our teacher had us play to go along with it。 😉 (IYKYK)。^that made it sound really dirty。 It wasn’t。 Pinky promise!!Agatha Christie is the OG murder mystery writer。 I need to re-read this since it’s been so long。
