Mycket uppskattad av 1-åringen (vi har läst den mer än 20 gånger。。。)。 Lätt att bläddra i för små barn och de tränar färger。

Let’s learn our colors!

i appreciate what this book is trying to do, which is pedantically teach my child colors。 the novelty of the holes in the board pages goes a long way。 but the imaginative work is a little flimsy。 the house doesn’t have rooms in the final illustration even though we’re told repeatedly that the cats are going to sleep in rooms。 and the prose gets real repetitive。

The illustrations were really great, and so were the pictures, according to my seven-year-old granddaughter。 She said her baby brother would love it。 This was really cute。 The text is simple, but the cut-out pictures are clever。 I can see why this won an award for best illustration。

2019This is a cute book for a toddler。 It has squares that show different colors of cats。 Very cute!

The names of the colors threw me off; they jump from simple names like “blue” to “auburn golden yellow” at some points (I don’t remember exactly, but the words should probably be altered if you’re reading this to a toddler)。The window panes are a bit too small to see the colors, but are probably a good size for a child to stick fingers into。 There’s some repetition, but no rhythm, nor do any phrases rhyme。 I’m a huge fan of rhyming board books and picture books, so that lost a point from me。 I l The names of the colors threw me off; they jump from simple names like “blue” to “auburn golden yellow” at some points (I don’t remember exactly, but the words should probably be altered if you’re reading this to a toddler)。The window panes are a bit too small to see the colors, but are probably a good size for a child to stick fingers into。 There’s some repetition, but no rhythm, nor do any phrases rhyme。 I’m a huge fan of rhyming board books and picture books, so that lost a point from me。 I love cats, but that’s not enough to make me want to read this again。 。。。more

It's weird to me that, here and on Amazon, this book is pegged as a "novelty/gift" board book。 It does make a great gift (now my go-to baby shower pick for when parents already have a toddler, too。) This is the right length (not over in 2 minutes but doesn't drag interminably), has some fun colors that don't show up in most books about colors (my daughter learned "light" and "dark" variations of colors from this book), is pretty soothing as a wind-down story, but most of all, the little windows It's weird to me that, here and on Amazon, this book is pegged as a "novelty/gift" board book。 It does make a great gift (now my go-to baby shower pick for when parents already have a toddler, too。) This is the right length (not over in 2 minutes but doesn't drag interminably), has some fun colors that don't show up in most books about colors (my daughter learned "light" and "dark" variations of colors from this book), is pretty soothing as a wind-down story, but most of all, the little windows are enchanting to a toddler。 Mine loves to "put them all to bed"。。。 then flip back through and wake them all up。。。 then put them back in their rooms。。。 then direct everyone to, "Shh。。。 rainbow cats are sleeping in the big white house!" 。。。more

Concept Skill: ColorsOne-by-one, 12 cats go to sleep in the big, white house。 Small die cuts are perfect for little fingers to poke and discover which window a cat went to sleep in。 Best for one-on-one, lapsit readings。

Rebecca

Clever use of die-cuts for a cumulative color concept story。

Megan

Fun toddler book, silly and engaging。

This book was suggested by our local library and it was a hit。 Very cute。 Baby loves putting his fingers in the windows。

Jag älskar bilderböcker och pekböcker som är roligt utformade, som är kreativa och som är lätt att göra interaktiva。 I godnatt alla katter går fler och fler katter hem för att sova och vi kan se dem genom de utskurna fönstren。

The die cuts are very clever。 This was cute and seems fairly sturdy, which is always a concern with die cuts。

Love it! Super cute。 Didn’t use all typical colors and added in light-blue and lime-green。 Great repetition and creativity with the die-cut windows in the house。 Great good night book。

Alicia Evans

For: cat lovers; readers looking for a book with lots of colors。Possible red flags: some readers may find the repetition tedious。

Out of the stack of books that I brought home, this is the one that my grandson loves to read over and over and over again! He loves showing me which window the colored cat goes into。

Jon

Rowan adores this book。 It’s very cute and fun。 The repetition, the colors, the mystery of which room in the house they will occupy, the holes in the boards。 Lots of simple components that work beautifully together。 Big hit, this one。

Cathie Stumpenhaus

My two-year-old grandson likes the repetitive text, is delighted with naming the colors, and we both love the surprise at the end。

Alyssa Gudenburr

LOVED LOVED LOVED! Best for a one-on-one story for cat lovers to learn their colors。

It's a cute enough board book about colors and going to bed。 Pretty repetitive, but that's pretty standard。 It's a cute enough board book about colors and going to bed。 Pretty repetitive, but that's pretty standard。 。。。more

This was a gift from a dear friend to our baby (due tomorrow!) and I can't wait to read it with her。 It would make the perfect bedtime story, as well as a way of introducing or revising different colours。 I think my friend is determined to get as many cats into our child's life as possible, knowing that I will be instilling a love of dogs!I love the chunky board pages, repetitive language and the cute final illustration of all of the cats curled up together in the big white house。 This was a gift from a dear friend to our baby (due tomorrow!) and I can't wait to read it with her。 It would make the perfect bedtime story, as well as a way of introducing or revising different colours。 I think my friend is determined to get as many cats into our child's life as possible, knowing that I will be instilling a love of dogs!I love the chunky board pages, repetitive language and the cute final illustration of all of the cats curled up together in the big white house。 。。。more

Colorful, simple, and fun see-through pages。

Dina

I liked this book。 The way the book is made adds to its appeal。 Between the cats, colorful additions as you turn the pages and the catchy goodnight vibe to this book, it is a good bedtime story for younger kids。

Great Books

Young children will enjoy saying goodnight to 12 colorful cats in this uniquely designed board book。 The pages feature the outline of a house from which cut-out square windows appear each time the page is turned。 The soothing text is predictable and simple。 On each page a cat is asked where it is going and each time it answers that it is finding a cozy room inside the house where its color can now be seen in a window。 Reviewer 4

Colorful kitties making their way home to bed invites young readers to learn colors in a subtle, night time read。The illustrations in this one are very simple and yet quick to the point, while not ignoring the needed cuteness and fun to grab young readers。 Cats are artfully shown in a single color, while presenting very natural cat poses。 And they only take a small corner of a white page。 The house, while large, is simple white with a very basic black outline, allowing the windows to hold attent Colorful kitties making their way home to bed invites young readers to learn colors in a subtle, night time read。The illustrations in this one are very simple and yet quick to the point, while not ignoring the needed cuteness and fun to grab young readers。 Cats are artfully shown in a single color, while presenting very natural cat poses。 And they only take a small corner of a white page。 The house, while large, is simple white with a very basic black outline, allowing the windows to hold attention。 A single, little window appears every time a cat approaches, and the cats color is added to the rest who've already been introduced in the previous pages until a rainbow of windows appears。It's a sturdy enough book, and the increasing windows adds a touch of discovery and fun。 There's also a nice verse, which accompanies each page。 It's cute, sweet and has a repetitive last line, which only varies enough to highlight every cat's color。 Young listeners will learn to join in on this part。 That helps them to remember the colors even more。 I received a complimentary copy and enjoyed this book quite a bit。 So, I'm leaving my honest thoughts。 。。。more

Pretty cute book, good for young readers learning the words for colors。 And there are cats。 :-)

Julie

Cute interactive board book designed to introduce children to the concept of color。 What happens when each colorful cat goes into the big white house? Young children will love the big reveal on the last page。

Hannah

This board book is adorable and amazing。 I love the cut out squares and how this teaches colors。
