Great 👍 👌

DNF at about 55%。 Much prefer the series starring Oscar Isaac and the way Moon Knight comes to be instead of this seventies/eighties comic slop。 And I enjoy comics。

A couple of different versions of the origin of Moon Knight in his early appearances。

The Daredevil cameo fueled my soul 😍

Unfortunately, I didn’t exactly love this selection of Moon Knight comics。 The first appearance (Werewolf by Night #32) was a solid enough comic, but by the time the main action was over in the subsequent issue, I was bored by that story。 The issue from The Amazing Spider-Man was fine, from what I managed to read anyway, though in all honesty I couldn’t get into that story, nor Moon Knight #13。 It’s quite cool that all 3 of my favourite Marvel heroes were here, though (Peter Parker, Moon Knight, Unfortunately, I didn’t exactly love this selection of Moon Knight comics。 The first appearance (Werewolf by Night #32) was a solid enough comic, but by the time the main action was over in the subsequent issue, I was bored by that story。 The issue from The Amazing Spider-Man was fine, from what I managed to read anyway, though in all honesty I couldn’t get into that story, nor Moon Knight #13。 It’s quite cool that all 3 of my favourite Marvel heroes were here, though (Peter Parker, Moon Knight, and Matt Murdock)。 The 2019 Annual issue at the end was probably my favourite part, but even then I found that to just be fine anyway。 My main problems with it are mostly personal。 I’m simply not a fan of older comics: the structure and layout of them doesn’t keep me invested most of the time, and I don’t really love the artwork either (some of the Amazing Spider-Man stuff from the 80s has proven an exception though, to be fair), so I tend to not really enjoy them on the whole。 Then, the other issue for me, was that none of these really felt unique。 Outside of the pair of Werewolf by Night issues at the start, I didn’t see the purpose of the other 3。 None of them are exactly iconic, with groundbreaking Moon Knight stories, or even stories that remotely highlight what makes him so unique (his disorder, mental illnesses and moral compass), so as a collection that’s meant to introduce the character or highlight some decent, essential moments, it simply…doesn’t。 Incredibly disappointing, with only a few enjoyable moments, thanks to its poor selection of stories。 3/10。 。。。more

Read more graphic novel reviews at The Graphic Library。Several of Moon Knight’s adventures are collected here in this volume。 The first story is a two-issue arc from Werewolf by Night, where Marc Spector is employed to capture a werewolf and bring it back to a live, captive audience for $10,000。 In the next adventure, Spider-Man and Moon Knight team up to infiltrate the underground of crime families。 The last adventure is a journey through time with Keng the Conqueror, with both Keng and Moon K Read more graphic novel reviews at The Graphic Library。Several of Moon Knight’s adventures are collected here in this volume。 The first story is a two-issue arc from Werewolf by Night, where Marc Spector is employed to capture a werewolf and bring it back to a live, captive audience for $10,000。 In the next adventure, Spider-Man and Moon Knight team up to infiltrate the underground of crime families。 The last adventure is a journey through time with Keng the Conqueror, with both Keng and Moon Knight them chasing sacred artifacts of Khonshu that could re-write reality itself。This series of books (Marvel-Verse) brings together some older adventures and reprints them for today’s audiences。 Some of these adventures might shed a little light on a hero’s backstory or be something interesting or important to who they are as a character。 For these Moon Knight stories, it seems like someone grabbed a few that were mildly entertaining, not ones that really showcased the character, nor especially ones that highlight his changing role through storylines (which is suggested in the back-cover synopsis)。 Old comics are sometimes harder for me to read because of their stereotypical plots and characters (although, this is where those stereotypes come from, I suppose)。 This volume of the Marvel-Verse series might be more interesting to nostalgic readers, rather than as an introduction to Moon Knight and his backstory。The stories that have been selected here are pretty tame in terms of violence and sexual content。 There is one scene where Marc comes back to his mansion through the bedroom, and his love-interest is there waiting for him, and there's a fade-to-black before they start doing what is obviously going to happen next。Sara's Rating: 7/10Suitability Level: Grades 7-12 。。。more
