Summary

From the beloved New York Times bestselling author comes a dazzling new series perfect for fans of Bridgerton, featuring a talk-of-the-ton trio of young women who’ve eschewed working as governesses to utilize their talents for fashion, food, and music, by running their own party planning enterprise, Elegant Occasions。 And if they, and their wealthy clients, happen to find love along the way, it just makes their efforts all the more rewarding…

Self-made civil engineer Geoffrey Brookhouse has unexpectedly inherited the dukedom of Grenwood。 But he has a secret that could ruin his family。 Hoping to save his timid sister from that fate, he seeks to marry her off to a respectable, protective gentleman。 With the London Season imminent, Geoffrey hires Elegant Occasions to orchestrate her debut。 Yet Lady Diana Harper, spirited fashion expert, proves more than he bargained for。 Suddenly, Geoffrey’s sister is emerging from her shell, and he is beleaguered with social invitations and gossip! Worse, Diana is attempting to transform him into a presentable duke—when all he really wants is to win her heart。。。

Diana doesn’t know what to make of the handsome, disheveled duke。 The man bristles at the very idea that his fashion faux pas might spoil his sister’s chances。 Yet Geoffrey’s stubbornness simply inspires Diana to ruffle his feathers—by setting him on a course of self-improvement。 Although there’s something endearing, even irresistible about his flaws, can a man who hates the ton tolerate a woman who makes her living catering to them? Little does either know that they have more in common than they suspect—and that two can create a society all their own。。。

I usually really enjoy Sabrina Jeffries’ historical romances, but this one just seemed a bit repetitive and tedious to me。 The main characters were appealing, but I found myself skimming long passages。 The situation of three sisters who are shunned by society because of their mother’s adultery and the subsequent divorce was interesting, but solved rather quickly by their having formed a business to advise fashionable families about getting along in society。 I didn’t believe that set-up and then I usually really enjoy Sabrina Jeffries’ historical romances, but this one just seemed a bit repetitive and tedious to me。 The main characters were appealing, but I found myself skimming long passages。 The situation of three sisters who are shunned by society because of their mother’s adultery and the subsequent divorce was interesting, but solved rather quickly by their having formed a business to advise fashionable families about getting along in society。 I didn’t believe that set-up and then add in another layer of unbelievability with a civil engineer-turned duke who is tormented about the circumstances of his father’s death。 It’s basically a modern romance with the surface aspects of a historical romance。I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review。 。。。more

I received this book from a Goodreads giveaway, this is my honest opinion。 I felt like the concept for this book was really good。 I loved the idea of three sisters choosing their own path in a society that is structured around rules。 I really enjoyed the plot line, but the romance portion felt a little stilted, or really boring。 It was obvious from the start that Diana and Geoffrey had sparks, but I just could not feel a connection when reading。 The secondary characters really gave this book lif I received this book from a Goodreads giveaway, this is my honest opinion。 I felt like the concept for this book was really good。 I loved the idea of three sisters choosing their own path in a society that is structured around rules。 I really enjoyed the plot line, but the romance portion felt a little stilted, or really boring。 It was obvious from the start that Diana and Geoffrey had sparks, but I just could not feel a connection when reading。 The secondary characters really gave this book life and I look forward to Eliza and Verity's stories。Overall, I did enjoy the strong independent women that Jeffries developed。 I liked that the Duke was not a heir apparent and had some work/life experience as someone without money。 I loved the sister's spunk (his and hers) those characters really made the story enjoyable。 As stated above I wasn't a big fan of the romance portion, although you could tell there was chemistry between the two MC, it seemed forced or contrived more than natural。 I do think Sabrina Jefferies is a talented writer and the storyline flowed well, but it isn't her best work。 I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys charming historical fiction, strong independent women and quick reads。 。。。more

I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 This was my first time ever reading a historical romance。 I blushed out loud a few times。 There was definitely some spicy grown up scenes。 The characters were good。 There was a newly appointed Duke who set his sights on getting his sister married to avoid family secrets ruining her life。 The Duke employs a company of three sisters to help introduce his sister into society。 As predictable as it was, he hooks up with one of the sisters。 T I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 This was my first time ever reading a historical romance。 I blushed out loud a few times。 There was definitely some spicy grown up scenes。 The characters were good。 There was a newly appointed Duke who set his sights on getting his sister married to avoid family secrets ruining her life。 The Duke employs a company of three sisters to help introduce his sister into society。 As predictable as it was, he hooks up with one of the sisters。 There was lot of talk of society, balls, clothes, gossips, and scandals。 It was interesting to read but sometimes felt overwhelming。 I'm not sure how it compares to other romance books like this, but I'm sure to recommend this to anyone who likes to feel a little steam coming off the pages。 。。。more

That didn't really make sense especially since she was adamant about not marrying。 Diana's sisters were okay, but there was nothing to make them stand-out。 There's no villain in the book。 It's more of whether the duke and Diana can stop fighting long enough to realize they make a good couple。 Not her best book, but I will still read more in the series to find out how the other two sisters fare。I voluntarily read the advanced reader arc and all opinions are my own。 。。。more

Oh my how the high and mighty society will have a time with that! Being brash, demanding, and arrogant is one of his best attributes besides being tall, fit, and handsome。 He never thought he was in line to inherit the title and responsibility of all it intailed。 Now with his father's death, the outcome of the meeting will decide how his sister will get on in society。As the sisters have their talents for what makes their business a success, they take Rosy and her mother under their wing to make Rosy a diamond of the first water。 Her presentation to the Queen, vouchers to Almack's, her Ball, and dinner all prove Rosy is right where she needs to be。 Geoffrey on the other hand is too stubborn and fights everything suggested only to get Diana to prove him a softy。 As the two work to build Rosy up and her confidence, they find they have more in common。 But will it be enough?Join in on Roster Debut and find romance, mystery, adventure, and intrigue。 With great witty banter, cursing, and snappy sarcasm you will laugh, pound your fist and want to box a few ears。 As Sabrina weaves four stories into one magical story。 。。。more

A perfectly adequate new historical series。 Three sisters have to make their way in high society by working as event planners and assisting young ladies with their seasons。 The new Duke of Grenwood needs assistance bringing his sister into society。 He is paired with Lady Diana who insists that she help him acclimate to the ton as well。Not a particularly rousing romance。 Writing feels as formal as the relationship between the Duke and Diana。

Obviously we have people who work, a heroine making her own living, etcetera--though they're all aristocrats, technically。 But the descriptions and thought process felt very old-fashioned。 A lot of "oh my"s whenever something vaguely scandalous happened。 That was just a bit。。。 done 。。。 for me。It's cute, don't get me wrong!
