Summary

Aru is only just getting the hang of this whole Pandava thing when the Otherworld goes into full panic mode。 The god of love's bow and arrow have gone missing, and the thief isn't playing Cupid。 Instead, they're turning people into heartless fighting-machine zombies。 If that weren't bad enough, somehow Aru gets framed as the thief。 If she doesn't find the arrow by the next full moon, she'll be kicked out of the Otherworld。 For good。

But, for better or worse, she won't be going it alone。

Along with her soul-sister, Mini, Aru will team up with Brynne, an ultra-strong girl who knows more than she lets on, and Aiden, the boy who lives across the street and is also hiding plenty of secrets。 Together they'll battle demons, travel through a glittering and dangerous serpent realm, and discover that their enemy isn't at all who they expected。

I'm still so invested in this story and I really wanna see where it goes。I feel like I had a harder time getting into this book, it was about half way through when I felt like I was really getting into the grove of everything again。 I love the characters, old and new。 The way the relationships evolved and shifted was interesting。 I'm still so invested in this story and I really wanna see where it goes。I feel like I had a harder time getting into this book, it was about half way through when I felt like I was really getting into the grove of everything again。 I love the characters, old and new。 The way the relationships evolved and shifted was interesting。 。。。more

Aru’s second adventure has twice the fun and excitement than the first one。 It also has that “Lightning Thief” feel as she has company on her journey as she’s been framed for theft and must try to survive in order to clear her name。 A- (91%/Excellent)

I need to re-read this one in print before advancing, I got a little confused towards the end (the whole good guy bad guy good guy and name changes caught me off kilter)。 Very exciting read again。 Introduces some new characters, well-limned and complex and imperfect。

First, I’ll repost the intro to my review of the first book in the series: the pre-title “Rick Riordan Presents” is telling you that this is another book about demigods。 Rick’s already done Norse, Greek, Roman, and Egyptian, so how about Hindu? I don’t have the energy to write a full review, but I love this series! I’m glad I was finally able to get back to it。 The feminist lenses got deeper (framing your own story anyone?) and more intersectional (bi characters! They pronouns!) and I continue to love the feminist use of the gender bent reincarnations。 The love interest has so many stereotypically “feminine” attributes and is a female reincarnation, but in a way that’s really well done。 Great new characters and lore additions, and some I don’t have the energy to write a full review, but I love this series! I loved this about as much as I loved the first one。 The new characters were fantastic additions to Team Pandava, the way Aru and Brynne go from enemies to true sisters is wonderful, and the bantering between the four of them was golden especially with the Aiden reveal at the end, "Wifey!"。 I liked how everything wrapped up in the end and how just like the previous book it had a few chapters at the end to chill out after the day has been won whereas other books usually only have a single chapter I loved this about as much as I loved the first one。 The new characters were fantastic additions to Team Pandava, the way Aru and Brynne go from enemies to true sisters is wonderful, and the bantering between the four of them was golden especially with the Aiden reveal at the end, "Wifey!"。 I liked how everything wrapped up in the end and how just like the previous book it had a few chapters at the end to chill out after the day has been won whereas other books usually only have a single chapter to reflect on everything at the end。 。。。more

Fun All I can think about is the worst rendition of despacito* dies laughing * Another fun addition to an already funny and educational book。 I loved the mystery of Aiden。 First I thought he was an avatar of Karana。 Then I thought he might be an extension of Krishna。 But then, he had such a unique relationship with the each pandava girl that I figured it out。 He is Paanchali!! Welllll shoot。 I picked this series up because I liked the covers and it was just something to listen to while walking the dog and to learn a little about Indian mythology。 I have fallen for this series hardddd。 It shouldn’t be considered for kindle school readers。 It is written for the millennial group with all the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars references! Peaked perfection。I was so surprised at Aiden, honestly。 I actually thought he might have been the last Pandeva brother that nobody knew was one of them until, like, the final battle。 (Or did I get that wrong? I'm sorry。) But NO it turns out he's THE WIFE。 AHAHAHAHAHAHA!There's so little romance though and it's just MWAH (*chef's kiss*)。Aru's embarrassment in some scenes is so palpable that I want to hide under my blanket and never come out。Brynne is like The Best。 At first I didn't like her muc Peaked perfection。I was so surprised at Aiden, honestly。 I actually thought he might have been the last Pandeva brother that nobody knew was one of them until, like, the final battle。 (Or did I get that wrong? 3。7This book was as fun a ride as the last one。 My only complaint is that the push to make the plot happen felt forced and that put off the first part of the book, but after we got past that it was great。

I forgot how much I loved the first book in this series so was excited to know she had continued the collection。 I would definitely not let two years lapse between books because there are a ton of characters and plot lines to keep up with and at times I struggled to remember how certain characters were connected to the first book。 I’m actually surprised this is intended for middle grade because of the complexity of the story (and that’s coming from someone who is semi-knowledgable of Hindu mytho I forgot how much I loved the first book in this series so was excited to know she had continued the collection。 I would definitely not let two years lapse between books because there are a ton of characters and plot lines to keep up with and at times I struggled to remember how certain characters were connected to the first book。 I’m actually surprised this is intended for middle grade because of the complexity of the story (and that’s coming from someone who is semi-knowledgable of Hindu mythology。。。)。 The author weaves folklore of our Hindu deities so seamlessly with modern story-telling and Aru, the main character is just so delightful, you want to root for her to the end。 She is equal parts middle school insecure/relatable but confident, inspiring and brave。 Also the world the author describes is so vibrant - I can see this turning into an amazing movie。 I would definitely recommend this entire series to everyone! 。。。more

And we have, yet another fabu installment of Chokshi's magical reads。 The Pandava Quartet's second book was a mix of magic and myth, and just some normal teen drama and hilarious moments in between。 First we discover another Pandava sister (Brynne), and her best friend, Aiden。 They find out that Aiden is actually a Pandava adjacent, being the reincarnation of Draupadi, the princess that married all of the original Pandava brothers。 Aru, Mini, and Brynne begin to call Aiden "Wifey", and Aiden isn And we have, yet another fabu installment of Chokshi's magical reads。 The Pandava Quartet's second book was a mix of magic and myth, and just some normal teen drama and hilarious moments in between。 First we discover another Pandava sister (Brynne), and her best friend, Aiden。 They find out that Aiden is actually a Pandava adjacent, being the reincarnation of Draupadi, the princess that married all of the original Pandava brothers。 Aru, Mini, and Brynne begin to call Aiden "Wifey", and Aiden isn't too fond of the nickname。Then we find that Aru actually thinks Aiden is really cute, but she thinks Aiden likes Brynne。 I felt Aru's pain here, because my best friend, Haley had known this guy Ethan since she was in first grade。 They were really good friends。 Almost too good。 I've been going to school with him for 3 years now, but he still likes Haley。 She doesn't like him, so she's always denying the truth。 Anyway, this exact thing happens to Aru and she feels really bad about it。Over all this book definitely deserves 5 stars and good job, Roshani! 。。。more

Yay! So far, this seires is great。 It took me a short while to get into it, because I wasn't very interested in Hindu mythology, but it's super interesting! In this book, I love how confusing it was, with Aru not really knowing what was right in the situation, which kept everyone on their toes! I also love the new characters, and how they interact with each other is halarius。 Can't wait for Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes。 Yay! I am continuing to love this series! It is still laugh out loud funny and I love the new characters。 I truly wish that I had encountered this series as a child, but I'll take what I can get and read it as an adult。 And actually, I'm not sure if a child would be able to get all of the humor from this book。 They would have to know and have watched as many movies as Aru。 I am continuing to love this series! There were some nice additions to the narrative here and I can see this building toward a cool arc for the third book。 I love all of the mythology and this makes me want to pick the bahagavad gita back up after dnf ing it some years ago。

This book was great。 I love that they were dilemmas and doubts about the right choices。 The characters are more fleshed out and we got to see interesting backstory。 I felt bad for Aru at several points throughout the story - she was frequently embarrassed。

Absolutely LOVED this book! Even more fast paced and enjoyable than the first (and the first was amazing!)

Cassie VanGorder

Fun fun fun! The second book to the Pandava Quartet is even better than the first! I’m really enjoying this series! This whole novel was a fast paced adventure- literally from the get-go! I also liked it because it gave a little more explaining to some of the Hindu mythology elements as you went along (compared to the first)。 I’ve been recommending this series left and right! Thanks for the great read!! 🐍
