I think I liked this better than the first one。 I enjoyed the flashbacks and continuation of the couples stories。 Still a weird and interesting concept， but fascinating and enjoyable。

I could have read 800 more pages of this and still wanted more。 I loved going back pre tournament and seeing the story between Harto and Matthew develop。 I wasn't expecting there to be a jump forward to post tournament half way through， but I am SO glad it was included。 I am so happy that we got to see how the relationships formed during the tournament panned out。 This volume was much more detailed and it felt like more thought was put into the relationships between characters。 This is definitel I could have read 800 more pages of this and still wanted more。 I loved going back pre tournament and seeing the story between Harto and Matthew develop。 I wasn't expecting there to be a jump forward to post tournament half way through， but I am SO glad it was included。 I am so happy that we got to see how the relationships formed during the tournament panned out。 This volume was much more detailed and it felt like more thought was put into the relationships between characters。 This is definitely my favorite of the two and honestly， as I said at the beginning， I really could have read a whole 800 page book just about the development of their relationships。 10/10 。。。more

Are there plot holes in this series？ Sure， lots of them - but it doesn’t take away from how fun the story and how gorgeous the art are。 Both a prequel and a sequel - we get to see how Matthew and Harto meet， as well as discover what happened to a lot of the characters stories after the wrym tournament in the first book - I particularly enjoyed RoRos arc。A fun light hearted book - worth a read

The first （and longest） story is about how Harto and Matthew met and eventually got involved。 The rest of volume 2 checks in with all of the clan champtions in the year after。 We get some more details about the customs of some of the clans。 Alas， it did not have the chaotic energy of the first volume。
