4，5/5Wow！！ This volume was intense。 Thoroughly enjoyed and it seemed a fit ending， considering we don’t whether it’ll be more chapters in the future， for these characters。 As a whole， I liked “Nana” much better than “Paradise Kiss”。 Because， here the characters act more maturely and less cartoonish（which was one of my issues with ParaKiss， especially regarding Caroline）。 I also think that Yazawa blended the setting with the plot more organically。 Making it more grounded， specifically the hindran 4，5/5Wow！！ This volume was intense。 Thoroughly enjoyed and it seemed a fit ending， considering we don’t whether it’ll be more chapters in the future， for these characters。 As a whole， I liked “Nana” much better than “Paradise Kiss”。 Because， here the characters act more maturely and less cartoonish（which was one of my issues with ParaKiss， especially regarding Caroline）。 I also think that Yazawa blended the setting with the plot more organically。 Making it more grounded， specifically the hindrances of being famous and how to conciliate private and public lives。 My issues with the series relies on the portrayal of some ideas and romantic dynamics。 Yazawa often brings some heavy subjects to her stories but I don’t think she succeeds in concluding them。 For me， it never feels satisfying。 Regarding the romance， sometimes was hard to go through because of how melodramatic they’re。 Mainly Hachi’s， which annoyed me a lot。 Nevertheless， I’m glad that I finally got to pick it up。 It’s a very unique story that， even without a “proper” end， manages to leave a solid impression。 。。。more

It's not perfect。 It's not properly paced。 I am not even that much of a fan of the style。 I watched this series called Nan when I was 16。 It was something completely different to what I was used to watch。 I was aware it wasn't marketed for me， which made it more exciting。 I remember binging it like no other show。 I was still confused， about a lot of things。 What drew me in wasn't the punk like style， （even though it turns out I really like punk） it was the between friends interactions， the roman It's not perfect。 It's not properly paced。 I am not even that much of a fan of the style。 I watched this series called Nan when I was 16。 It was something completely different to what I was used to watch。 I was aware it wasn't marketed for me， which made it more exciting。 I remember binging it like no other show。 I was still confused， about a lot of things。 What drew me in wasn't the punk like style， （even though it turns out I really like punk） it was the between friends interactions， the romance， the angst。 I always wanted something like what is in Nana， that closeness。 I was a kid who was stuck in his room， for the most part。 That show made me ecstatic。 Younger me couldn't get over the ending。 So sudden。The manga goes beyond that and still， so sudden。 I know this is unfinished， it really doesn't matter。 Reading this made me go back 10 years， I caught up on things I forgot even where there。 I was prepared to hate this， memories are scary， thing we really treasure we put things on a pedestal。 Funny to me to say， when I've done something horrible to someone related to that。 Let's call it A。 A loved this movie and watched it a million times as a kid， it helped him in many ways。 I， being naive and extremely self-centered， driven by my quest to truthfulness， gave A my thoughts on the movie。 I say thoughts mostly to justify myself。 I was bland， whatever came out of my mouth held no meaning， it could even be reused in a different occasion。 Why would I do that？ I really don't know， we sometimes act for no reason。 Bad habits， perhaps I wanted to sound smarter than I am。 Some thinking and nothing bad would have happen。 However why did it happen in the first place？ This is what Nana is about。 That interaction could be an event in Nana。 it's common。 It's reality。 In many scenarios I was unhappy with the development of the story， but I was hooked anyway。 I am sad it's over。I feel vulnerable。 I want to sing。 。。。more

For the sake of sanity， I'm going to call Nana Komatsu 'Little Nana' and Nana Osaki 'Big Nana'。Well， the major plot point of disaster has finally hit。 Ren wrecked in car trying to get Reira to return to Trapnest and died 。。。 and all on Big Nana's birthday。 All that's left is the mourning and Big Nana disappearing （how and why aren't yet specified， but from the timeskip parts， we can assume this is the cause）。 Meanwhile （sometime during the time skip） Little Nana and Takumi have some sort of fall For the sake of sanity， I'm going to call Nana Komatsu 'Little Nana' and Nana Osaki 'Big Nana'。Well， the major plot point of disaster has finally hit。 Ren wrecked in car trying to get Reira to return to Trapnest and died 。。。 and all on Big Nana's birthday。 All that's left is the mourning and Big Nana disappearing （how and why aren't yet specified， but from the timeskip parts， we can assume this is the cause）。 Meanwhile （sometime during the time skip） Little Nana and Takumi have some sort of falling out， Satsuki is born， and we still don't know anything more about the little boy at Takumi's place （Satsuki's big brother）。And these questions will probably never be answered because Nana has been on hiatus since 2009 with no sign of restarting。 So， we'll probably never know how this drama plays out。This series is currently on hiatus at 21 volumes。 。。。more

I've been reading and re-reading this series since the mid-2000s。 I suspect that it'll never be finished。 It might be why I prefer "Paradise Kiss" which is short and completed。That said， this is a series that hooks me if I give it too much of a look。 The characters， all of whom are different levels of likable and terrible， suck me in as any good soap opera would。 Since HIDIVE is currently airing 2 episodes a week of the anime and I'm all caught up， I am re-reading again。 This time， I'm reading i I've been reading and re-reading this series since the mid-2000s。 I suspect that it'll never be finished。 It might be why I prefer "Paradise Kiss" which is short and completed。That said， this is a series that hooks me if I give it too much of a look。 The characters， all of whom are different levels of likable and terrible， suck me in as any good soap opera would。 Since HIDIVE is currently airing 2 episodes a week of the anime and I'm all caught up， I am re-reading again。 This time， I'm reading it backwards。 From the last volume to the first volume。In this volume， there are elements that I love of the series。 In later parts of the series， I felt like Yazawa brings in characters and storylines that were unnecessary， but Vol 21 focuses on the core group。 It also hits because the tragedy is fresh。 Even after all these years of knowing what happens in this volume， I still find bits and pieces that I missed。That's the gift of Yazawa in this series。 NANA is ， for lack of a better phrase， a soap opera but it is one where my younger self recognizes familiar terrain。 The -algia in nostalgia is bittersweet while reading it and these characters and their fates， which may always be left open ended， fascinates me still。 。。。more
