Summary

A wedding planner left at the altar。 Yeah, the irony isn’t lost on Carolina Santos, either。 But despite that embarrassing blip from her past, Lina’s managed to make other people’s dreams come true as a top-tier wedding coordinator in DC。 After impressing an influential guest, she’s offered an opportunity that could change her life。 There’s just one hitch… she has to collaborate with the best (make that worst) man from her own failed nuptials。

Tired of living in his older brother’s shadow, marketing expert Max Hartley is determined to make his mark with a coveted hotel client looking to expand its brand。 Then he learns he’ll be working with his brother’s whip-smart, stunning —absolutely off-limits — ex-fiancée。 And she loathes him。

If they can survive the next few weeks and nail their presentation without killing each other, they’ll both come out ahead。 Except Max has been public enemy number one ever since he encouraged his brother to jilt the bride, and Lina’s ready to dish out a little payback of her own。

But even the best laid plans can go awry, and soon Lina and Max discover animosity may not be the only emotion creating sparks between them。 Still, this star-crossed couple can never be more than temporary playmates because Lina isn’t interested in falling in love and Max refuses to play runner-up to his brother ever again。。。

3,5⭐️Phew, I don't exactly know what to say。 The book was beautiful。 Shallow。 A bit too shallow, maybe。 The plot was good and I really liked the idea behind it, but the enemies-to-lovers trope that was teased with the blurb somehow wasn't really picked up。 Yes, Lina and Max were always bickering and pranking each other in the beginning, but somehow they also hit it off right from the start。 It all happened too quickly, too uncomplicated。 I just somehow missed the spark。 Nevertheless, quite a nic 3,5⭐️Phew, I don't exactly know what to say。 The book was beautiful。 Shallow。 A bit too shallow, maybe。 The plot was good and I really liked the idea behind it, but the enemies-to-lovers trope that was teased with the blurb somehow wasn't really picked up。 Yes, Lina and Max were always bickering and pranking each other in the beginning, but somehow they also hit it off right from the start。 It all happened too quickly, too uncomplicated。 I just somehow missed the spark。 Nevertheless, quite a nice book for in between。 。。。more

This definitely lived up the hype of tiktok! This has such an interesting plot and characters that I was hooked from the first chapter。 ALSO MAX?? he was my favourite part that man knows his way with words and I ate up every single thing he said。 Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is I didn’t love the whole “I like you but I can’t be in a relationship” thing that happened。 But overall, absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read book 2!

This was a cute romance and fun to listen to but it wasn't anything ground breaking。 The male voice wasn't my favorite but it wasn't enough to make me stop listening。 This was a cute romance and fun to listen to but it wasn't anything ground breaking。 The male voice wasn't my favorite but it wasn't enough to make me stop listening。 。。。more

Light hearted and funny even though I just admit the whole "were almost in-laws" threw me off therefore manning it awkward and cringe for me to read so I couldn't quite get into the romance with that at the back of my mind。 But other than that, I love books where food play a part in it all and I was drooling when some dishes were mentioned。 I, personally felt Max didn't deserve the hate from Lina, sure I heard her reason behind it but he was never at fault。 Light hearted and funny even though I just admit the whole "were almost in-laws" threw me off therefore manning it awkward and cringe for me to read so I couldn't quite get into the romance with that at the back of my mind。 But other than that, I love books where food play a part in it all and I was drooling when some dishes were mentioned。 I, personally felt Max didn't deserve the hate from Lina, sure I heard her reason behind it but he was never at fault。 。。。more

4。5/5 This book had all the elements that make a good romance for me - enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed trope, spice。 There were some instances where the writing was completely cheesy, but I still enjoyed it all the same。 I listened to the audiobook and the female narrator was quality perfection, the male narrator on the other hand, left something to be desired。。。

I really liked this! Excited to read th enext book in the series。

4 stars! I loved both the plot and all of the characters, minus awful Andrew of course。 The banter, humor, and romance was everything I wanted and the spice was an added bonus that I of course enjoyed。 This book has it all! Enemies to friends to lovers, one bed trope, AND a dash of fake dating… I mean what more could you want! I loved Dean and I can’t wait to read his book next! I do wish it would of had an epilogue though, I know this is personal preference but I always feel an epilogue that fa 4 stars! LISTEN。 i don't like to try and rate my pleasure reads because i'm genuinely reading them to turn my brain off and experience romance vicariously, so no rating will go here lol。The Worst Best Man holds up really well with the other contemporary romance novels i've read。 I think this was the best banter i've ever read because i had many genuine outbursts of laughing or gasps。 It takes a lot for me to giggle or throw the book across the room, but we did it joe! I honestly love trope-y romance too LISTEN。 i don't like to try and rate my pleasure reads because i'm genuinely reading them to turn my brain off and experience romance vicariously, so no rating will go here lol。The Worst Best Man holds up really well with the other contemporary romance novels i've read。 I think this was the best banter i've ever read because i had many genuine outbursts of laughing or gasps。 It takes a lot for me to giggle or throw the book across the room, but we did it joe! I honestly love trope-y romance too (: its so fun to have that familiar anticipation of what's to come and so i thoroughly enjoyed the one bed and enemies (?) to lovers situation here。 both Lina and Max had incredibly good character arcs with a lot more depth。 it made their dynamic incredibly lovely and healthy (display of communication in this book is fantastic) and their journey was simply so sweet。 i would love to see this become a romcom because i believe that a good adaptation can singlehandedly begin a revival of good romcoms。 i also didn't expect max to have this much appeal? its refreshing to see a man that has insecurities, respects women (the bar is, in fact, in hell) with a dose of pining and yearning, family troubles, actual complex thoughts, and an almost concerning love of cake。 man i wish men were real <3 also i read this book in about 2 days, take of that what you will。 It also may just be a better indicator of my mental state。 def read this tho! its funny and full of color, culture, and cake! 。。。more

I found the introduction to Brazilian culture fascinating, and I liked that it was important to the main character without changing the book from being a romance novel。 I also liked both halves of the main couple--I found both of them to be flawed, interesting people and I think the split narrative really helps with this book。 I have to say that Max's brother (sorry, I've already forgotten his name) is an absolute dick and I don't get how Lina ended up there anyway, but that's by the by。 It's a I found the introduction to Brazilian culture fascinating, and I liked that it was important to the main character without changing the book from being a romance novel。 I also liked both halves of the main couple--I found both of them to be flawed, interesting people and I think the split narrative really helps with this book。 I have to say that Max's brother (sorry, I've already forgotten his name) is an absolute dick and I don't get how Lina ended up there anyway, but that's by the by。 It's a book that reminds us that what we think we need is often not what we actually need, and definitely isn't always what we want。 。。。more

I loved this one。 It was light and funny, and at times ridiculous in a delicious way。This is the first of Sosa's books that I've read, but I will look for more。 I loved this one。 It was light and funny, and at times ridiculous in a delicious way。This is the first of Sosa's books that I've read, but I will look for more。 。。。more

I can easily see this as a chick flick movie! It's hilarious and romantic at the same time。 Cliché but it works! Sometimes you need a good combination of innovation and cliché to make a good story。 Love this book! I can easily see this as a chick flick movie! This was sooooo cute and sweet。 There was pining, sort of forbidden romance, cute flirting and great spice。 Such a cute read!

This was disappointing。 I absolutely loved the beginning of this, the writing was so good and I loved the set up for this but around 25% in I was bored。 There really wasn’t much connection between Max and Lina。 It’s great to have a diverse romance but some things were too overly explained and there was no nuance。

it was sweet

love love love。 all my favourite tropes - enemies to loves, only one bed。 and both protagonists were as lovable on their own as they were together - the chemistry was undeniable。

I actually liked this book a lot, and loved the tension that the two main characters had。 It was also very nice to read the book with a Brazilian female lead and it was fun to read about a culture i'm not familiar with。 Loved the characters and the story and defiantly excited to read her next book。 I actually liked this book a lot, and loved the tension that the two main characters had。 It was also very nice to read the book with a Brazilian female lead and it was fun to read about a culture i'm not familiar with。 Loved the characters and the story and defiantly excited to read her next book。 。。。more
