Summary

From the author of Today Tonight Tomorrow comes a magical romance in the vein of The Opposite of Always and Palm Springs about a teen girl forced to relive her disastrous first day of college—only to discover that her archnemesis is stuck in the time loop with her。

Barrett Bloom is hoping college will be a fresh start after her messy high school experience。 But when school starts on September 21st, everything goes wrong。 She can’t switch out of her Physics 101 class even after being humiliated by the awkward guy sitting next to her, and she botches her interview for the college paper。 At a frat party that night, she accidentally tips over a tiki torch and sets the place on fire。 She panics and flees, and when she realizes her roommate locked her out of their dorm, she falls asleep on a couch in the common room。

The next morning, Barrett’s perplexed to find herself back in her dorm room bed, no longer smelling of ashes and crushed dreams。 It’s September 21st。 Again。 And after a confrontation with Miles, the guy from her physics class, she learns she’s not alone—he’s been trapped for months。

When her attempts to fix her timeline fail, she agrees to work with Miles to figure out what’s going on。 They start skipping their classes in favor of the library and research trips that take them into the unexplored underbelly of the university and across state lines。 As Barrett starts to fall for Miles, the two of them must find a way to grow and change alongside the shifting fabric of the universe。 But the one question they can’t answer is what they’ll mean to each other if they finally make it to tomorrow。

This is my first RLS YA book and I can gladly say she does YA romance just as well as some of her big hits。 I loved both Barrett and Miles from the start and I couldn't help but cheer for them as they faced some of their toughest moments while stuck together on the first day of school, over and over again。 Rom coms with time travel aren't really my cup of tea, but I loved the focus on physics and science that Miles put into their situation and it helped it feel a little less of a reach。 And we L This is my first RLS YA book and I can gladly say she does YA romance just as well as some of her big hits。 I loved both Barrett and Miles from the start and I couldn't help but cheer for them as they faced some of their toughest moments while stuck together on the first day of school, over and over again。 Rom coms with time travel aren't really my cup of tea, but I loved the focus on physics and science that Miles put into their situation and it helped it feel a little less of a reach。 And we LOVE a plus sized MC! 。。。more

Every time I read one of Rachel's books, I'm always amazed how she writes such relatable characters。 No matter the characters background or situation, I always find myself feeling connected to them -- which I think is a true testament to how talented Rachel is。 I felt like in a lot of ways I could identity with Barrett。 Guaranteed my trauma around high school was very different。 But I understood her need to want to put her awful senior year behind and move forward with her life。 This wound for Barrett is so fresh and although she tries to escape it, it follows her to college。 And throughout the book, we see the more Barrett tries to bury things, the more it won't stay buried。 Barrett's arc throughout the book is so realistic at times heartbreaking, but the growth at the end is no short of amazing。 And Miles, might be my favorite YA male love interest ever。 He comes off as if he's cynical and closed-off。 But as the story unfolds, you come to realize that at Miles is an adorable, sweet young man with an impressive amount of emotional sensitivity。 Barrett and Miles's love story is a slow-burn that has twists and turns, which I loved。 When I started the book, I was like: "How is this ever going to happen with these two" and then of course, Rachel proved me wrong。 Lol。 Their story is by far one of the sweetest that I've read。 You will laugh and cry because it's so beautiful。 Also, I loved how inclusive Rachel is with this book! Barrett is a plus-size character that is dealing with PTSD and panic attacks。 Miles is a Jewish Japanese love interest。 It made my heart so happy with this rep。 Lastly。 kudos to Rachel for writing an updated Groundhog's Day story with a YA twist that felt fresh and unique。 I can only imagine the amount of work that went to doing all the time loops -- I'm so impressed! The time loops all felt unique and different, and kept me guessing。 This book is hands down a 5/5 stars。 ** Content warnings to keep in mind before reading: PTSD, panic attacks, sexual harassment (past), bullying (past)。**This story is not only for YA but for adults as well。 I can't wait for everyone to read this story! What if you keep waking up on the first day of college? Barrett and Miles are stuck together in a time loop。 This book is amazing! If you’re into romcoms then I’m sure you’re going to love it as well。 The characters are relatable and funny。 I love how there’s casual diversity。 For example: an oversized main character, Jewish characters and a sapphic couple。

*3。5 starsOverall, I had fun reading this book! The banter between the main characters was fun to read about and Miles is an absolute cinnamon roll 🙊 I have to admit it did take me quite a while to get through the book as it’s quite long and the pace is slow at times, but the mystery of the timeloop kept me motivated to continue reading (and the romance ofc)。 The ending of the book was adorable too so I’m glad I read it! 🙌🏻

What I loved most about See You Yesterday is how Beckett isn't a shy girl and we see her acting like a freshman in college instead of the usual "shy girl"。 She's loud, hilarious and goes for what she wants。 I felt like she was a well written character。 Miles is adorable as well。 You can just feel his love for physics and how passionate he is。They both have real-world issues that they work through the entire book。 Being stuck on the same day makes for some great healing and fun! Another thoughtful and entertaining coming-of-age story from Solomon, with her trademark blend of heroines with social struggles, themes about the importance of family, rocky but rewarding friendships, and smart, driven heroes who fall head-over-heels in love with the whole messy but delightful package that forms the central voice of each narrative。 Here we have the added twist of a time loop, which creates an interdependence of the central duo as they attempt to escape a first day of college th Another thoughtful and entertaining coming-of-age story from Solomon, with her trademark blend of heroines with social struggles, themes about the importance of family, rocky but rewarding friendships, and smart, driven heroes who fall head-over-heels in love with the whole messy but delightful package that forms the central voice of each narrative。 Here we have the added twist of a time loop, which creates an interdependence of the central duo as they attempt to escape a first day of college they seem to be repeating together。 It's a fun method of testing one's characters as they try out new ways to live a life without a guaranteed tomorrow。 Be good and save the world? Get revenge on people who've wronged you? Rob a bank? Have as much fun as possible? Eat a ton of junk food? Mend broken relationships? Try something terrifying? Solomon's characters run the gamut as they seek escape and develop an appreciation for the lives they were living before The Universe 。 。 。 threw them for a loop。 Anyone who started college hoping "this will be different from high school" will relate to Barrett's struggles to leave her past behind and start fresh, only to find that meaningful change takes a heck of a lot more work than stepping onto a college campus and hoping for the best。As a bit of a side note, I find this a tricky book to classify。 While it has a sci-fi setup, readers expecting a sci-fi focus might consider themselves misled。 Those looking for a category romance might also get antsy when the emotional connection between the central pair doesn't kick in until about 1/3 of the way through the book。 More notably, its college setting and voice felt more adult than YA to me, with a focus on leaving the security of a family home, forging new (hopefully long term) relationships, thinking ahead to a career plan, and otherwise moving forward into adulthood after high school has ended and a new stage of life has begun。 However, the market hasn't yet resolved its approach to New Adult as a classification, using it largely to label books with more graphic sex than most commercial YA titles。 This book wouldn't fit that category either。 I say all of this with the hopes that markets embrace more of these college set books, marketing them not as YA or as NA (if NA continues to be an umbrella term for YA + more sex), but perhaps with a new category heading。 It was lovely to read about the stage of life wherein the characters were functioning as independent adults, but still sorting out how to break away from their teen identities and anxieties and conflicts。 I'd like to see more titles written specifically for this audience, even if they don't fit tidily into existing shelves like sci-fi, romance, or YA contemporary。 Here's hoping the market catches up soon, because this book deserves to find its audience。 And its audience deserves more books targeted to their readership。 。。。more

But it was still meaningful for the 34 year old version of me。 I love Rachel’s writing for many reasons, but most especially her commitment to representation。 In every book I’ve read, she shines the light on someone not often basking in it。 There is witty banter, tough conversations, life lessons, and love flooding every page of this book。 I loved Barrett。 Gah, there were so many little bits of her that felt familiar。 Maybe that’s me being egocentric again 💅🏼Do yourself a favor and preorder this book。 Buy it。 Request it at your local library。 Give it to friends as a party favor。 Hand it out to people on the streets。 Honestly, the sky is the limit。 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 。。。more

When Barrett gets stuck in a time loop on her first day of college with the strange yet intriguing guy from her Physics class, she struggles to overcome her past and build up the courage to step into the future。 This book is like if Groundhog’s Day and Palm Springs had a baby that turned into a ya romance and I really enjoyed it。 Even though it touched on heavy topics (addiction, bullying, body shame), it still felt light hearted。 I have noticed a trend with Rachel Lynn Solomon’s main characters When Barrett gets stuck in a time loop on her first day of college with the strange yet intriguing guy from her Physics class, she struggles to overcome her past and build up the courage to step into the future。 This book is like if Groundhog’s Day and Palm Springs had a baby that turned into a ya romance and I really enjoyed it。 Even though it touched on heavy topics (addiction, bullying, body shame), it still felt light hearted。 I have noticed a trend with Rachel Lynn Solomon’s main characters: they hyper focus on one aspect of their love interest’s appearance。 For Barrett, it was Miles’s jaw; For Rowan, it was Neil’s freckles; for Ari, it was Russell’s weight。 This hyper focus pulls me out of the story every time。 I’m sure that’s not a sticking point for literally anyone else though。 。。。more

I ADORED this book! It was so so cute! It's the perfect light-read; don't get me wrong, it does deal with some heavier topics, but it handles it very gracefully。 I was very interested in the time loop plot with 2 people stuck in it, but I was nervous because I HATE the movie "Groundhog Day!" Luckily, this book never bored me with its repetition, and I really really liked the main character! I love Barrett Bloom with my whole heart! And Miles deserves the world。 <3I loved all the little "You Only Live Once" trips Miles and Barrett took together。 And maybe (just maybe) I'm biased because I live in Washington state, but I loved all the things they did in Seattle and even in Oregon and Vancouver。 There were moments when I was like, "omg, I've been there!" Many elements of this book are a love letter to the PNW。 Also, I loved that Barrett and Miles went to the University of Washington! I have a friend who goes there, so I visit the UW campus all the time, and it was so cool to read about them exploring UW。 I enjoyed that the main characters were both in college and dealing with everyday college stressors (weird new classes, roommate issues, funky dining hall food, comfort mozzarella sticks, and being nervous about joining new clubs)。 Barrett also talked about joining Hillel at UW, which I thought was super cool because I've attended Yom Kippur services there。 Also, as always with Rachel Lynn Solomon's books, the Jewish representation was PHENOMENAL! Barrett is a plus-sized Jewish girl whose mom is bisexual and dating a woman。 Her love interest is Jewish (and he's patrilineal, which makes me so happy), and Japanese and his parents are both professors at UW! The way they talk about their Jewish identities with each other is so beautiful。 I especially liked the way Miles talks about being a patrilineal Jew because it was very relatable。 His relationship with his mom ALSO! There is a very, very sweet scene involving a private Shabbat dinner, and it was so beautifully written and such a lovely moment between Miles and Barrett。 <3 Getting to see Jewish college students being Jewish in college was so amazing。 I, a Jew in college, have decided that I need to read more books about Jews in college!!! I want this book to be a movie so badly! The montage in the middle of all their antics they get up to trying to live each day to the fullest and slowly falling for each other would be the best thing ever。 I will use as few words as possible to avoid spoilers, but: building a ball-pit on campus! Icecream truck! Tattoos! Adopting dogs! I loved it! Reading about Miles and Barrett slowly, slowly falling for each other was so much fun, and this book brought me so much joy! Thank you to the publisher for providing me (a Jewish reviewer) with an ARC of this book via Netgalley! All opinions are my own。 Content warnings provided by the author: PTSD, panic attacks, sexual harassment (past), bullying (past)Content warnings I'd add: there are some conversations about a family member who struggles with addiction, and a brief instance of fatphobia in a fraternity 。。。more

I have read some pretty fantastic books this year, but this one-- this one right here-- has made me feel on a whole other level。It was perfect。I was so impressed by the writing, and also so *feeling* of it。 I went through a whirl of emotions-- goosebumps and teary eyes featuring heavily in the last half of the book。 I just felt this book so much。 The time loop really was more of a fun background feature that centered Barrett and Miles on twining journeys of self-discovery。I felt this book so muc I have read some pretty fantastic books this year, but this one-- this one right here-- has made me feel on a whole other level。It was perfect。I was so impressed by the writing, and also so *feeling* of it。 I went through a whirl of emotions-- goosebumps and teary eyes featuring heavily in the last half of the book。 I just felt this book so much。 The time loop really was more of a fun background feature that centered Barrett and Miles on twining journeys of self-discovery。I felt this book so much, and it had everything to do with our protagonists。 For as unreal as the situation they found themselves to be-- Barrett and Miles were such real-feeling character。And with her narration to lead us, Barrett felt real to me。Every feeling Barrett experienced felt like I was experiencing it as well-- her confusion as she entered her time loop, her confidence in her passion for journalism, her insecurity with her weight, her hurt as she unpacked what happened to her in High School, her rage when she let it all come out, her fear of the day just infinitely repeating。。。。and her love。 She's a very loving character behind her quick wit and jokes, but her wall is high and mighty, but funnily enough it starts to come down thanks to a boy who is just as guarded and weary。 Mile。 Beautiful, sweet Miles。 I won't talk too much about him so you can discover him as Barrett does, but what a fantastically layered character was he as well。 I can't imagine any other character partnering with Barrett in this crazy time loop they find themselves in。 I felt it so much, and it felt so deeply real。 This book was simply magical。Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for providing me an arc in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

CW: panic attacks, bullying (past), family member battling addiction, car accident -Okay, this is officially my new favourite RLS book! I had a *blast* reading this。 Rachel knows how to draw out every emotion out of you。 I genuinely couldn’t stop smiling, I was so giddy reading about hese two fools。I’m always excited for a new RLS book, but I was a little apprehensive going into this one。 With it being a time loop story, I was slightly worried I’d get bored if it was too repetitive。 I did not ha CW: panic attacks, bullying (past), family member battling addiction, car accident -Okay, this is officially my new favourite RLS book! I had to come back and edit this review a bit。 My goodness the typos! I stayed up one night until after 2 am trying to finish the book and then wrote the review the next day on very little sleep。 I am so grateful I was sent an ARC of this book。 And I plan to buy several copies for the library at my school and can't wait for students to read it!This is the third book I've read by Rachel Lynn Solomon。 And all of her books are now on my TBR list。 There is something so warm and endearing about her w I had to come back and edit this review a bit。 My goodness the typos! Rachel Lynn Solomon's See You Yesterday follows Barrett Bloom on her first day of college, which she hopes will be a chance to change her life and reinvent herself。 Instead, her high school nemesis is her surprise roommate, she blows her interview for the school paper, and she sets a frat house on fire。 And then she wakes the next day。。。to live the whole day again。 She soon realizes that she isn't alone, but that Miles, a rude guy from her Physics 1o1 class is also stuck in a time loop--and has Rachel Lynn Solomon's See You Yesterday follows Barrett Bloom on her first day of college, which she hopes will be a chance to change her life and reinvent herself。 Instead, her high school nemesis is her surprise roommate, she blows her interview for the school paper, and she sets a frat house on fire。 And then she wakes the next day。。。to live the whole day again。 She soon realizes that she isn't alone, but that Miles, a rude guy from her Physics 1o1 class is also stuck in a time loop--and has been stuck even longer than her。 Miles and Barrett work hard to break out of the time loop and eventually their begrudging alliance blooms into something more。 Honestly, I didn't love this book。 The premise feels overdone, the storyline sits in a weird place between young adult and new adult fiction because the characters are emotionally very young, but there is a lot of sex, and the story felt like it dragged。 Several chapters only existed to briefly describe moments from the relived day and many of them could have been omitted。 There were also some egregious writing errors。 In one scene, we meet Miles' roommate, Ankit, who is described as wearing a UW t-shirt。 In the exact same scene, Ankit asks if Miles has seen his UW t-shirt because it was lost after he did laundry。 The overwhelming grammar errors I can forgive because it is an ARC, but major revision errors like this are a really big deal and heavily disrupt the story。 。。。more

Barrett Bloom is ready for a fresh start。 After being an outcast for most of high school, she had hoped her freshman year at the University of Washington would be a turning point in her lonely life。 Except by the end of her first day, she's already certain that College Barrett is doomed to be the same friendless social pariah High School Barrett was。 So, when she wakes up on September 21st for the second time, Barrett is thrilled to have another chance to become a new person。 It soon becomes cle Barrett Bloom is ready for a fresh start。 After being an outcast for most of high school, she had hoped her freshman year at the University of Washington would be a turning point in her lonely life。 Except by the end of her first day, she's already certain that College Barrett is doomed to be the same friendless social pariah High School Barrett was。 So, when she wakes up on September 21st for the second time, Barrett is thrilled to have another chance to become a new person。 It soon becomes clear however, that Barrett is trapped, forced to relieve the same day over and over。 And it appears that she's not the only one。This was such a unique and humorous read! I loved the time travel/loop concept and I loved how real the characters felt。 Barrett is such a funny, wise, and sarcastic old soul who I would love to hang out with (despite her negative opinion of Colin Firth as Mr。 Darcy)。 And Miles, oh sweet, rational, caring, Miles。。。 I definitely have a bit of a crush。 Watching these two people open up to each other, fall in love, and help the other see themselves in a more positive way was deeply satisfying。**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more
