The Complete Book of Ford Mustang by Mike Mueller is everything I hope for in a book like this: great pictures， enough technical info to understand the differences between models， and plenty of history to better understand the longevity of the model。I have become hooked on these types of books。 Large format， just enough information for someone like me， who only ever owned two Mustangs in my life （one of which I try not to hold against them）， to appreciate the entire history。 I think there is eno The Complete Book of Ford Mustang by Mike Mueller is everything I hope for in a book like this: great pictures， enough technical info to understand the differences between models， and plenty of history to better understand the longevity of the model。I have become hooked on these types of books。 Large format， just enough information for someone like me， who only ever owned two Mustangs in my life （one of which I try not to hold against them）， to appreciate the entire history。 I think there is enough technical information for those more mechanically inclined。I don't write book reports like some people， I gave that up in elementary school， I'm more interested in giving you some idea whether you might like the book。 Because of the wonderful photographs and history of each model， I think even the casual Mustang admirer or car lover will find a lot to enjoy。 Those more mechanically inclined won't mistake this for a Chilton's but will， I think， find enough technical info to keep them happy as well。Reviewed from a copy made available by the publisher via NetGalley。 。。。more

The Mustang is the most iconic pony car of all time and it came in different variations。 The mustang embarked on the Youth market in 1964 as a new car built on the ford falcon chassis using a 260 V-8 in a convertible or a 2-dr hardtop however the mustang became a favorite with many young car shoppers both male and female loved the mustang for its styling and performance 。 The 1965 model year saw the addition of the new 2+2 fastback and the new 271 horsepower HI-PO 289 V-8 wich was found the hood The Mustang is the most iconic pony car of all time and it came in different variations。 The mustang embarked on the Youth market in 1964 as a new car built on the ford falcon chassis using a 260 V-8 in a convertible or a 2-dr hardtop however the mustang became a favorite with many young car shoppers both male and female loved the mustang for its styling and performance 。 The 1965 model year saw the addition of the new 2+2 fastback and the new 271 horsepower HI-PO 289 V-8 wich was found the hoods of a lot of mustangs like the GT-350 wich came with a 4-spd manual transmission and extra performance goodies like suspenion and brakes plus driveline the car was also offered as the GT-350 H wich was the Hertz rental car that ford built specifically for Hertz rental car agencies 。 The mustang underwent other changes to exterior as well as engine upgrades like the new 428 CJ found under the hoods of 1968 mustangs and new package offerings were on hand however in 1969 the mustang introduced the boss 429 a semi hemi engine with hemispherical cyclinder heads similar to the Chrysler hemi 426 V-8 。 The mustang in 1970 introduced a boss 302 wich competed in transam and was a good performer both on the streets and on race track but also created a lot of showroom traffic as well 。 The mustang for 1971 introduced a new body style and interior and also gained a grander package and a boss 351 package for buyers seeking traditional mustang performance the new car came with some new color hues and new interior options 。 The 1974 mustang was a downsized car with a trimmer wheel base and a smaller package it was a different kind of mustang as ford moved towards fuel efficiency and the 5-mph bumper rule though this was a time when performance took a back seat to safety and fuel requirements 。 The mustang of 1979 was the beginning of the new fox body platform gone was the traditional falcon platform and a host of changes and new introductions to the options list would be included in sales catalogs like the tuned 302 V-8 and the 2。3 liter 4-cyclinder engine mated to either a manual or automatic however the fox body would last well into the 1990s as the car would receive changes and upgrades yearly to keep mustang ahead of GM。 Ford Motor Company in 1994 readied a new mustang that was modern but borrowed some styling cues from the 1964-66 mustang and brought that theme into the interior like the dash design and overall interior appearance fords new car could be had with the 5。0 liter 302 or a new 3。4 liter V-6 mated to a mandatory manual transmission or optional automatic 。 Ford offered high performance packages like the cobra and rousch and saleen offered there high performance packages like wide bodys and race track performers with modified engines with superchargers 。 The ford motor company introduced the best mustang yet for the 2005 model year this new car was like the 1964-66 mustang orginal inside and out it offered a new V-8 the 5。0 liter 302 was gone and a new 4。6 liter modular V-8 was introduced this engine was the best modern V-8 in mustang history and would be used for years to come the engine started towards the end of the fox body and would progress through out the years with mechanic al changes ford again played around with performance packages and rousch and saleen and steeds introduced track packages for the new mustang the car would again receive a round of changes and a new GT500 package that came with racing stripes and supercharger。 The ford Motor Company introduced a new mustang in 2015 a completely redesigned car with new trim levels and customer preferred packages plus new interior and options and standard Equipment plus new performance packages like a cobra package and GT however the mustang also celebrated its 50th anniversary and to mark the occasion ford brought a new 2015 mustang to the top of the empire state building just like they did with the orginal mustang 50 years earlier。 。。。more
