Summary

Return to the world of The Bridge Kingdom in this sensuous fantasy full of romance and intrigue that is perfect for fans of From Blood and Ash and A Court of Silver Flames

A soldier raised as heir to an empire, Zarrah is motivated by two truths。 The first is that the Veliant family murdered her mother。 And the second is that her pursuit of vengeance will put every last one of them in their graves。

The Endless War between Maridrina and Valcotta has raged for generations, leaving thousands of Zarrah’s people dead and countless more orphaned。 So when she’s given command of the contested city of Nerastis, Zarrah is prepared to do whatever it takes to destroy the Maridrinian forces who oppose her。 And to kill the Veliant prince who leads them。

Yet a chance encounter with an anonymous, and handsome, Maridrinian causes Zarrah to question whether the violence she’s perpetrated is justice or a crime。 And as she continues to meet the nameless man each night, she finds common ground - and fiery passion - in his arms。

But when identities are revealed, Zarrah must decide whether to embrace a chance at peace…or march to the drums of war。

The story overlaps the events of the second book。 Nothing new to the story till the end。

'"Peace is like a dance。 It only works if both partners are listening to the same music。 And Maridrina only knew the drums of war。"' I absolutely ADORED getting Keris and Zarrah's story。 I didn't think I would be that fussed by it, as what I really wanted was more Aren and Lara, but this was SO GOOD。 This story takes place alongside 'The Traitor Queen', so you will revisit some scenes you're already familiar with, but from a new perspective! It was great to get to know Keris and Zarrah, to see how their minds work and more of the politics of the different countries。 I thought it was great how Keris slowly stepped into his role as heir, and how Zarrah learnt to face her past predjudices and trauma。 "There is nothing I wouldn't give you。 Nothing I wouldn't do for you。" Together these two were incredible and I really need the next book now! I loved the romance, the action, the plot, the story, the characters and THE ROMANCE in this。 '"You make me believe I can be better。 You give me hope。 You are my hope。"' Danielle L。 Jensen has done it again 👏👏 Some parts of this felt like a bit of a slog, due to it being ONLY available on Audible at the moment。 I'm not a massive audio book listener, tending to dip in and out alongside physically reading the book, but even I found myself coming up to the end thinking "you can't stop there?!?!" I really enjoyed this and can't wait for the next book。 。。。more

This was too long, and I paused in the middle, but this has really cemented my love for the series。 I cannot wait for book 4。

Move over Lara and Aren! Danielle did it again。 This book has everything you can want from enemies to lovers, star crossed lovers, sacrifice and betrayal and spice。 All in perfect amounts。 Cannot wait to continue Zarrah and Keris ♥️ everything was paced well and was 🔥🔥Note: (this only has to do with audio book) I listened via audible as a physical copy is not out but I want to read further readers, there are certain sounds that may make you comfortable so proceed with caution, I was not prepared Move over Lara and Aren! A good story。 I was surprised this book revolved around new main characters even though it was book 3 of the series

Been trying to find a rebound book but no book is filling the void this book left in my heart。

I’m trying to think about what I want to write in this review because a LOT happened in this book! ⁣Once again, I listened to the audiobook。 I really enjoyed this one but I’ve also figured out that it’s much harder for me to follow what’s happening when I’m only listening to it vs reading it。 The paperback version of this book comes out soon so if you prefer reading over listening then you’re in luck!⁣⁣This book follows Zarrah who is a general and heir to the thrown of Valcotta, and Prince Keris I’m trying to think about what I want to write in this review because a LOT happened in this book! ⁣Once again, I listened to the audiobook。 I really enjoyed this one but I’ve also figured out that it’s much harder for me to follow what’s happening when I’m only listening to it vs reading it。 The paperback version of this book comes out soon so if you prefer reading over listening then you’re in luck!⁣⁣This book follows Zarrah who is a general and heir to the thrown of Valcotta, and Prince Keris who is next in line to be King of Maridrina。 This book overlaps the same timeline of book two in The Bridge Kingdom series, The Traitor Queen。⁣⁣If you want spice, this book has PLENTY of it! I honestly didn’t think it was possible to find myself as invested in Karis and Zarrah as I was with Lara and Aren, but Danielle has proven me wrong。 I love The Bridge Kingdom Series and can’t wait to see what happens in the next installment。 On my way to re-read the first two while waiting

She’s done it again! If you want political intrigue, look no further, this book is for you。 Danielle L。 Jensen is the queen of creating an interesting, fleshed out political drama。 Even though we got a lot of the same inter-country intrigue from the first two books, we get it from even more perspectives in this one。 What I was NOT expecting was for this to be a cliffhanger。 I figured it would be a stand-alone, but NOPE。 Clearly more Zarrah and Keris to come and I’m not mad about it。

That CAN NOT be the ending!!!So now I have to wait a year or more to find out what will happen next?!?! This is so unfair! The third installment of The Bridge Kingdom DID NOT disappoint。 Full of action, betrayal, passion (smut) and intrigue this book pulled me in early! The parallels between this book and The Traitor Queen (as certain things were happening in tandem as they were happening in the last book) was a plus。I can't wait for the next book。4。5 stars That CAN NOT be the ending!!!So now I have to wait a year or more to find out what will happen next?!?! I really wasn’t sure how much I was going to love the fact that the main characters were switching to Zarrah and Keris。 I really wanted more Lara and Aren。 To be honest, I was also wary because this book started around the halfway point of the second book, The Traitor Queen。 It was just being told in a different POV, and I was afraid I would be bored。 I could not have been more wrong on every level。 Danielle Jensen has the rare ability to make a reader completely fall in love with a second set o I really wasn’t sure how much I was going to love the fact that the main characters were switching to Zarrah and Keris。 I really wanted more Lara and Aren。 To be honest, I was also wary because this book started around the halfway point of the second book, The Traitor Queen。 It was just being told in a different POV, and I was afraid I would be bored。 I could not have been more wrong on every level。 Danielle Jensen has the rare ability to make a reader completely fall in love with a second set of characters from a series。 Quickly, I found myself completely absorbed in Zarrah and Keris’ story。 This book was LONG, but there was never a dull moment。 Keris, dare I say it, make her even more swoon worthy than Aren。 Zarrah’s sense of duty and honor is breathtaking and perfectly balances with her ability to love passionately。 If you are seeking a book that checks all the boxes, you’ll love this so much。 You’ll get: action, adventure, battles, royalty, lust, love, rebellion, grand schemes, evil, enemies to lovers and forbidden love。 Danielle Jensen did it again and I absolutely hate that I have to wait for the next book。 。。。more

I love Danielle's use of dual perspective and how she made this book overlap with the last。 This author has the enemies to lovers troupe down to a science and I already can't wait for the next book。 I love Danielle's use of dual perspective and how she made this book overlap with the last。 This author has the enemies to lovers troupe down to a science and I already can't wait for the next book。 。。。more

I just wasn’t as big of a fan of this one than the first two。 Keris doesn’t grab me like Lara and Aren。

I had forgotten a lot as it had been awhile since I’d read the first two。 It also didn’t help that this one was mostly about new characters。 However, it all came back to me and I enjoyed it。 I’m truly rooting for Caris and Zara。 I did not, however, love the narration。 I didn’t hate it。 I’d still listen to the next one in the series, but this one was stylistically different。 The splat sounds and other random accoutrements could be distracting。 And duets in general aren’t my favorite。 I hate the c I had forgotten a lot as it had been awhile since I’d read the first two。 It also didn’t help that this one was mostly about new characters。 However, it all came back to me and I enjoyed it。 I’m truly rooting for Caris and Zara。 I did not, however, love the narration。 I didn’t hate it。 I’d still listen to the next one in the series, but this one was stylistically different。 The splat sounds and other random accoutrements could be distracting。 And duets in general aren’t my favorite。 I hate the changing voices for the same characters。 And while these two had pleasant voices and did a good job overall, neither made the older characters sound very old。 It was confusing。 Idk。 It was fine。 But not amazing。 Overall a good follow up to this series。 Recommend。 。。。more

I was really prepared not to love this one as much as I had loved the other books。 I could not imagine switching away from Laura and Aren。 I especially did not think I wanted to cover the same time from a different perspective。I was so wrong! I loved Keris and Zarrah so much。 In fact, I liked them MORE。 And I loved the storyline from their perspective。 An excellent forbidden lovers adventure romance。

4。5 stars。 I listened to the audiobook。 It was racy, fast paced, and so good。 I want to already be reading the next one!!! My one complaint is the random inclusion of sound effects, one in particular, that kept pulling me from the book。 They were uneven at their entry and sometimes seemed to distract from the narration as they were not constant throughout

So good。 So so good。 Even better if you read it along side The Traitor Queen, after you've already read both of them。 I love how she did this, how they all weave together to create a clearer picture of what happened to all of the characters。 This has been an amazing journey and I am hoping (hoping hoping hoping) there will be a book 4。 So good。 So so good。 Even better if you read it along side The Traitor Queen, after you've already read both of them。 I love how she did this, how they all weave together to create a clearer picture of what happened to all of the characters。 This has been an amazing journey and I am hoping (hoping hoping hoping) there will be a book 4。 。。。more
