Summary

The New York Times bestselling author of Life's Too Short delivers a refreshingly modern fairy tale perfect for fans of Casey McQuiston and Emily Henry。

After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down。 The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who’s ten years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis。 And yet their chemistry is undeniable。

While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn’t need glory or fame。 She’s fine with being a “mere” ER doctor。 And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, she’s discovering just what’s really important。 Yet letting their relationship become anything more than a short-term fling would mean turning her back on her family and giving up the opportunity to help thousands of people。

Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible, and yet she can’t just give up the joy she’s found with him either。 With so many differences between them, how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his?

Another winner from Abby!! I loved this sweet small town romance。 A fairly predictable story throughout but adorable nonetheless

I thoroughly enjoyed Part of Your World。 The characters are well-developed and highly likeable。 The fact that Alexis and Daniel come from vastly different worlds allows for each of these characters to evolve into more well-rounded individuals。 The couple meet when Alexis is driving home from a funeral and runs into a ditch swerving to miss an animal crossing on the road。 Daniel tows her out, and later the two meet up again in the bar of the small town where Daniel lives。 This small town is charm I thoroughly enjoyed Part of Your World。 The characters are well-developed and highly likeable。 The fact that Alexis and Daniel come from vastly different worlds allows for each of these characters to evolve into more well-rounded individuals。 The couple meet when Alexis is driving home from a funeral and runs into a ditch swerving to miss an animal crossing on the road。 Daniel tows her out, and later the two meet up again in the bar of the small town where Daniel lives。 This small town is charming, full of interesting characters and livestock with celebrity names。 The two are instantly drawn to one another and while Alexis doesn’t think the relationship can amount to anything besides a distraction from her everyday life, she soon falls for not only Daniel, but the lifestyle a small town offers。There are some heavier topics in this book。 Daniel was raised by his Grandparents after his mother abandoned him。 Unfortunately, this woman is also one who needs constant financial bail outs creating a stressful life for Daniel who wishes to buy the home that has been in his family for many generations。 Alexis feels the constant pressure of a lifestyle dictated by her professionally successful father and the family’s long history of providing medical care。 Alexis has also recently removed herself from a toxic relationship that effected her well-being。 Domestic abuse is discussed in multiple situations in the book。 I love how the important messaging in this book shines through while wrapped in the comfort of a romantic blanket。I enjoyed the push and pull of this relationship as Alexis is torn between her two worlds - her everyday life as an Emergency Physician in the big city and the woman she has become alongside Daniel in his small town。 As Alexis works through the conflict of this inner turmoil, her best friend Eri shines some great perspective on the situation。 I was delighted to learn that Eri’s story will be shared with readers in 2023。4。5 stars 。。。more

4。5 Stars。 This book was a lot more than I was expecting。 I have not read any other books by Abby but figured this would be a typical city girl in the country book, but this went so much further。 This book tells the story of Alexis, an ER doctor from a powerful family, who stops briefly in a small town and ends up having a one nigh stand with local hunk Daniel who is 10 years her junior。 What she meant as a one time thing turns more serious as Alexis falls in love with both Daniel and his town。I 4。5 Stars。 This book was a lot more than I was expecting。 I have not read any other books by Abby but figured this would be a typical city girl in the country book, but this went so much further。 This book tells the story of Alexis, an ER doctor from a powerful family, who stops briefly in a small town and ends up having a one nigh stand with local hunk Daniel who is 10 years her junior。 What she meant as a one time thing turns more serious as Alexis falls in love with both Daniel and his town。I really liked both Alexis and Daniel。 I’m not usually one for an age gap, especially when there is also a large socio-economic gap, but this one didn’t bother me。 I liked that both Alexis and Daniel were competent in their own life situations and it never felt like was one was cleaning up the other’s mess。 I do think the two are very compatible but I did miss the heat as this was a closed-door book。A major sub-plot in this book is abuse。 Alexis experienced emotional abuse from her ex-boyfriend and one of the side characters in the book is in a physically abusive relationship。 The book handles the subject well and, for me it never crossed the line into becoming a book about trauma。 I do appreciate that the author’s note included resources for those experiencing abuse。Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for the ARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

4。5 stars! Well that was a delightful new installment from Abby Jimenez。 Daniel and Ali are basically from totally different worlds but both are living out the family legacies that they’ve been set up to carry on。 But their casual arrangement seems to be turning into something more even though Ali doesn’t see a way for Daniel to ever be part of her world。 This definitely has some spicy scenes but is also about being true to yourself and breaking out of abusive, controlling relationships。Trigger 4。5 stars! Wow。。。。 this book had it all for me, made me laugh, cry & everything in between。 Such a good book for any reader。 The characters are from 2 different worlds but figure it out in the end。 I don't know about others but I laughed out loud during the breakfast scene during the girls weekend & the picture tips from Daniel's friends。。。。SO good!! Sex happens but nothing overly explicit if that's a thing for you。 Highly recommended read! Abby has done it again。 A 4th book I could not put down。 Part of your world is beautifully written and I can not say enough about her willingness to write about the tough things in this world。 As someone who suffers from some of the experiences she writes into this book, she captures most of those feelings straight on point。 Thank you Abby for this exceptionally wonderful book filled with all the emotions!

All hail Queen Abby Jimenez!! She truly can do no wrong。 Even though I am not the biggest romance reader, her books are the BEST。 I cannot get over how wonderful Alexis and Daniel’s story was。 The book also covers abusive and toxic relationships (both physical and emotional) with poise。 Definitely a top read this year!

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed Part Of Your World! This was my first time reading Abby Jeminez, and it certainly won’t be my last。 I really liked both of the main characters Alexis and Daniel。 Daniel seemed to bring out a lighter side of Alexis who seems to be carrying a lot of pressure from her family and friends about not only her career but the current state of her relationship with her former partner。 While her “friends” Gabby and Jessica royally suck, Bri was a total rockstar! The side characters were great, especially Doug, the D pic scene was hilarious! The writing flowed really well and I appreciated that it wasn’t all just fluff and rainbows, that there were more serious topics like domestic violence and emotional abuse included, and that they were well executed。 There was also a few nods to Disney in there and a touch of magic in the town。 I would definitely recommend! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Sooo good。 How are all of her books so good!? Loved the chemistry in this one and the kind of opposites attract vibe。 Clearly I can’t resist it because this is the second book with that trope in a row where I read 60% or more of it in one sitting。 Super cute setting and an excellent romance mixed with some serious content as well。 I can’t wait to be back in this world with Bri’s book! It better go the direction I’m hoping ;)

4th trip on the Jimenez roller coaster of hearts tabby romcom。 You laugh, you cry, and you definitely come through feeling some kind of way。 This one hit different for me than the first three。 Maybe it was because it took me so long to read。 I was thrilled to be blessed by the NetGalley Gods with an ARC in September 2020, but then I was drowned by Covid forever (I'm a school nurse)。 By the time I could finally sit down and read, my own long-covid made it hard to focus。 I definitely didn't get it 4th trip on the Jimenez roller coaster of hearts tabby romcom。 You laugh, you cry, and you definitely come through feeling some kind of way。 This one hit different for me than the first three。 Maybe it was because it took me so long to read。 I was thrilled to be blessed by the NetGalley Gods with an ARC in September 2020, but then I was drowned by Covid forever (I'm a school nurse)。 By the time I could finally sit down and read, my own long-covid made it hard to focus。 I definitely didn't get it done in a day like the last three books。 I cannot wait for the audiobook on 4/19。 Apparently Audible can't wait either, since it has to remind me at least once a week that I can't preorder a book more than once and to calm the hell down。 It's basically giving me the curt service professional "ma'am, you've already paid for the book。 you don't need to order it again。 we'll send it as soon as it's released ma'am。" And to be honest, I have genuinely forgotten and freaked out that I haven't ordered it more than once, so that's on me Audible, that's on me。Jimenez writes female characters that are strong, but flawed。 They have to come to terms with their flaws to meet their goals, and while it's sometimes agonizing to go through it with them, it's so satisfying。 Her males are equally well rounded, and always incredibly delicious。 And while Hunter is only "loosely based on Tess," don't tell me you didn't see that shaggy beard and those yellow eyes in your mind every time she talked about that dog。 C'mon。 It's Tess。 I could hear her rooing through the damn Kindle App。 I mentally replaced all the "Hunter's" with "Tess's" as I read。 Sorrynotsorry。 Bottomline- I will read anything you read Abby, because I friggin love your sass。 Keep 'em comin' lady! 。。。more
