At the end of part 2, Villanelle decides not to kill Eve and instead the pair fake Eve’s assassination and take off together on a motorcycle。We pick up pretty much straight away but this time, Eve is our narrator so we see Villanelle only through her eyes and mind。 It’s interesting to see what eve makes of Villanelle; she loves this clearly psychopathic killer but she also muses on whether Villanelle can possibly, really, love her。This volume lacks the black humour and glamour of parts 1 & 2。 Mo At the end of part 2, Villanelle decides not to kill Eve and instead the pair fake Eve’s assassination and take off together on a motorcycle。We pick up pretty much straight away but this time, Eve is our narrator so we see Villanelle only through her eyes and mind。 It’s interesting to see what eve makes of Villanelle; she loves this clearly psychopathic killer but she also muses on whether Villanelle can possibly, really, love her。This volume lacks the black humour and glamour of parts 1 & 2。 Mostly this takes place in the grim shadows of the Russian underworld and, understandably, Eve spends most of the story in a state of terror。Eve does grow during the story into a stronger, tougher woman, and Villanelle sort of turns a bit more human – both rubbing off on each other (in more ways than one。。)。However, the fun mutual cat and mouse of parts 1 & 2 has gone – this is a straighter story (but with some twists) of our heroines trying to escape from and then getting caught up in nasty conspiracies。 It’s hard to see where Jennings wanted to go with this。 It ends because it has nowhere else to go but it’s hard to say it’s a satisfying ending。A must read if you’ve enjoyed Parts 1 & 2, and Jennings handles the tension of the big finale well, but I can’t say it does much more than just finish the story off。 。。。more

Well, this book is written from a different perspective unlike the first two books。 Again it's a gripping spy story, but the characterisation is really pesky, some parts are written so weirdly。 But i'll admit events taking place in this book are pretty gripping。 I want to say the love that's been building between the two characters doesn't make sense in the books because of the lack of conplexity and evolvement。 I read it with the tv show perspective, but really you better watch the show before Well, this book is written from a different perspective unlike the first two books。 Again it's a gripping spy story, but the characterisation is really pesky, some parts are written so weirdly。 But i'll admit events taking place in this book are pretty gripping。 I want to say the love that's been building between the two characters doesn't make sense in the books because of the lack of conplexity and evolvement。 I read it with the tv show perspective, but really you better watch the show before judging it by the books。 The tone is really really different between show and the triology。 。。。more

I mentioned that the first book of the series was underwhelming and was in need for some spice and this book really provided that spice to an extent of feeling uncomfy but overall it was amazing and juicy and thrilling and I loved it and I'm sad I finished it I mentioned that the first book of the series was underwhelming and was in need for some spice and this book really provided that spice to an extent of feeling uncomfy but overall it was amazing and juicy and thrilling and I loved it and I'm sad I finished it 。。。more

It really was unputdownable。 Fast-paced, brutal, eveything you'd expect from this series。 And a powerful ending too, if slightly guessable。 It really was unputdownable。 Fast-paced, brutal, eveything you'd expect from this series。 And a powerful ending too, if slightly guessable。 。。。more

or has the influence of villanelle caused her to become a bad person?i personally believe eve always had it in her, that’s why villanelle liked her so much from the beginning。 villanelle knew they were the same。 after they kill someone for dasha, they have everything they need to leave- passports and fake ID。 but as they are leaving, someone shoots dasha’s assistant - who is wearing eves coat。 it was lara。 (who now goes by they/them)。 lara was with the twelve, the shot was obviously supposed to get eve。 i kinda like how a gender-fluid character was introduced, i’m not sure if it felt forced or not。。 but i actually thought it was quite nice to see。。 anyways。。then oxana and dasha try fight away the twelve, and eve also tries to help but ends up getting shot (not badly), but the twelve don’t go anywhere。 they want oxana to kill eve, but she refuses。 she refuses to go anywhere or do anything without eve。 we see, at this point, oxana is obviously very attached to eve, whether it’s just a hyperfixation or not is unknown, but i personally believe oxana cares about eve in her own way- she just has a sick twisted way of expressing it sometimes。 after oxana refuses to kill eve, the twelve decide to take her on for a big, finale kill。 they go somewhere to prep for the kill。 while prepping for the kill, oxana and she’s relationship intensifies。 after telling eve she loves her, oxana is being blunt with eve, ignoring her and even cheating on her with charlie (lara)at one point。 but after eve kills anton, villanelle’s handler after she killed konstintain, oxana and eve make up。 in some oddly romantic way, disposing of a body together。but it doesn’t go exactly as planned - well。 it does exactly the way the twelve and the FSB planned it, but not the way eve was told it was going to go。 after the kill, eve is lead to believe oxana is dead。 and she is absolutely devestated。 oxana was her whole world。 i personally believe the book should’ve been left there。 but she was then brought back to life and then her and eve got their happy ending。 even though villanelle/oxana was my favroute character, and i desperately wanted her and eve together, i didn’t like the ending。 i mean i liked it, as a lesbian, rooting for the 2 girls to live their cute happily ever after。 but actually, i think the book would’ve been better if oxana stayed dead。 i just feel like it would’ve had a better effect。 but i can’t complain really, i did think the ending was cute and did actually make me quite happy - even if it did seem very rushed and undetailed。 all in all, i loved all of the books together and would definitely read them again as i have became very attached to them and was very sad to see them end。 it was really interesting to watch eve and villanelle’s relationship grow。 and to watch the power dynamic switch up。 i truly believe they have a certain balance in power and personality, making them soulmates- or twinflames。 i strongly recommend these books。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 It was good, but weird。I was thrown off by the sudden shift to First Person POV, and even more so by the 180 that Eve underwent。 In the previous book, at the end, she is scared when she confronts Villanelle, even after discovering the truth and the betrayal。 Now, she’s like a lovesick pup。It’s weird。Besides, is she not even a little sad about leaving her husband behind? Or did the tensions die to her job render their relationship irretrievable in her eyes? absolutely fantastic。 so much better than the other books - it flowed much better, and felt so authentic that i'm actually a little bit emotional to have finished it。 perfect ending。 and very different from the tv series, so far, so do take a look!also, i enjoyed the non-binary representation - which acknowledged the prejudice which some people might feel towards they/them pronouns, but nevertheless showed clear acceptance in the consistent use of them by eve throughout the narrative。 very impre absolutely fantastic。 so much better than the other books - it flowed much better, and felt so authentic that i'm actually a little bit emotional to have finished it。 perfect ending。 and very different from the tv series, so far, so do take a look!also, i enjoyed the non-binary representation - which acknowledged the prejudice which some people might feel towards they/them pronouns, but nevertheless showed clear acceptance in the consistent use of them by eve throughout the narrative。 very impressed。 。。。more

A satisfying conclusion to the books, which differ pretty significantly to the TV series (which is also very good)。

Sooooo much better than the first two books! I could not believe the way this turned。 The difference between this and the tv show was immense。 This book was completely different to the rest of the series, it flowed better, it was an all round better story and it was definitely my favourite instalment。 Again some of the chapters were long which frustrated me a bit but overall this book was really enjoyable and just all round so much better than the rest of the series。 The plot, the story itself, Sooooo much better than the first two books!
