Summary

Humorous, romantic, with just enough real-world conflict to be compelling。 A fun premise (see synopsis) and one of the best meet-cute scenes I've read in a while。 Humorous, romantic, with just enough real-world conflict to be compelling。 A fun premise (see synopsis) and one of the best meet-cute scenes I've read in a while。 。。。more

Not much for romance but I love this。 “Chef’s Kiss”

This was another easy listen that was very sweet。 As usual, with any rom comy book, I loved the characters: Tiffy and Leon but especially Leon。 It didn't hurt that the actor reading for Leon was an Irish actor with a very attractive sounding accent。 I also liked how Leon’s perspective was quick short, sometimes incomplete sentences (showed his personality)。 This was one of those books you can see being a movie。 There were so many scenes that would have been perfect for the big screen, where ever This was another easy listen that was very sweet。 As usual, with any rom comy book, I loved the characters: Tiffy and Leon but especially Leon。 It didn't hurt that the actor reading for Leon was an Irish actor with a very attractive sounding accent。 I also liked how Leon’s perspective was quick short, sometimes incomplete sentences (showed his personality)。 This was one of those books you can see being a movie。 There were so many scenes that would have been perfect for the big screen, where everyone would have been laughing out loud or crying。 The anticipation of Leon and Tiffy meeting was fun。 The one thing I could have done without was a bit less Justin drama and interference, but I suppose in the end that is what brought the two main characters closer together with their shared experiences。 。。。more

This will make a super romcom!!!! Such a happy, easy, un-putdown-able read

Wow, wow, wow!! I don't know why it took me so long to pick up this book, but I am so glad I did! What an adorable premise that leads itself to so many fun adventures。 Renting a place, knowing you'll have the exact opposite schedule as your flatmate, and sharing the same bed (never at the same time, of course), who wouldn't want that? Lovely。 Perfect romcom。

The Flatshare is an adorable romance with two main characters going through really serious issues and problems。 It’s the perfect slow burn; I love a book that avoids insta-love and Flatshare definitely does!I don’t usually enjoy the friendship to lovers path, but this one is great since they have never even met! We get to see their entire relationship build from post-it notes to proposals (and not the kind of proposals you would anticipate from a romance book!)。 I love how O’Leary was able to mi The Flatshare is an adorable romance with two main characters going through really serious issues and problems。 It’s the perfect slow burn; I love a book that avoids insta-love and Flatshare definitely does!I don’t usually enjoy the friendship to lovers path, but this one is great since they have never even met! Premise seemed interesting。Very predictable。Characters not really believable

LOVED this concept and the chemistry, but the ending felt rushed and a little cliche, and the build up kind of fizzled out for me because of it。 but still cute!

I loved this book。 The romance is light and fun while deftly handling the topic of emotional abuse。 The side characters felt fully fleshed out, and I adored the way that Leon's chapters were written。 I loved this book。 The romance is light and fun while deftly handling the topic of emotional abuse。 The side characters felt fully fleshed out, and I adored the way that Leon's chapters were written。 。。。more

3。5!to put it simply, i couldn’t put this book down。 now idk if it was because i actually liked the book or if i just felt like it was short enough to just get it over with。 i did enjoy this book, but i wasn’t in love with it (if that makes sense)。 i liked several things about this book: the short chapters, the romance wasn’t the main focus, etc。 but there’s just something about it that i know if i hadn’t had it on hold from my library, i probably wouldn’t have ever read it。 it was still a fun r 3。5!to put it simply, i couldn’t put this book down。 now idk if it was because i actually liked the book or if i just felt like it was short enough to just get it over with。 i did enjoy this book, but i wasn’t in love with it (if that makes sense)。 i liked several things about this book: the short chapters, the romance wasn’t the main focus, etc。 but there’s just something about it that i know if i hadn’t had it on hold from my library, i probably wouldn’t have ever read it。 it was still a fun read!! 。。。more

I loved this romance novel。 The characters and story were just so richly complex, deeper than just the romance and some superficial side interests。 It was amazingly well plotted, all of the (numerous!) subplots eventually tied back in to the main romantic plot。 It was actually very light on romantic scenes and romantic tension compared to your typical romance, but that didn’t bother me cuz the rest of the story was still so interesting。 As I’m toying with writing my own contemporary romance nove I loved this romance novel。 The characters and story were just so richly complex, deeper than just the romance and some superficial side interests。 It was amazingly well plotted, all of the (numerous!) subplots eventually tied back in to the main romantic plot。 It was actually very light on romantic scenes and romantic tension compared to your typical romance, but that didn’t bother me cuz the rest of the story was still so interesting。 As I’m toying with writing my own contemporary romance novel I’ll be using this as a model for how it’s done。 。。。more

Cute, witty, enjoyed how the author wrote Tiffy and Leon’s perspectives in a different style。

This caught me by surprise。 By the way it started, I thought it was going to be a cute 3 star。 It took me a little to get into, but once I hit the 70 page mark I was hooked。 The premise of this book is unique and the chemistry that was developed between Tiffy and Leon from the get-go without them even meeting was brilliant and adorable。Tiffy's experience with her ex-boyfriend really resonated with me, and I think the author really understood what that kind of trauma caused by emotional abuse and This caught me by surprise。 By the way it started, I thought it was going to be a cute 3 star。 It took me a little to get into, but once I hit the 70 page mark I was hooked。 The premise of this book is unique and the chemistry that was developed between Tiffy and Leon from the get-go without them even meeting was brilliant and adorable。Tiffy's experience with her ex-boyfriend really resonated with me, and I think the author really understood what that kind of trauma caused by emotional abuse and gaslighting does to someone。 I really appreciated that, which is what bumped this book up in rating for me。Loved this overall ❤ 。。。more

Holy moly, I LOVED this book! I knew that I was going to adore it but it was even better than I was expecting, and it tackled some pretty serious issues while still being a super sweet romance。 Beth O'Leary maintained a great balance between those things and she is now going on the automatic read list。 I love you, The Flatshare! I LOVED THIS SO MUCH。 Every single character was so well thought out, and the romance was exquisite。 Also the discussion of emotional abuse and gaslighting was super on point。 Ugh。 Yes。 Read it。
