This was essentially a collection of Instagram photos, which, hey, I bought it on kindle sale for the pictures。 So kind of what I expected。 I did expect actual writing, though, not just a response to the previous book (here's a bulleted list of what our audience thought of it) and photo captions。 The book is 255 pages。 I checked out the audio to listen to while I looked at the ebook and it was less than 3 hours long。 That's so few words。 Honestly, the amount of pictures could have been upped, to This was essentially a collection of Instagram photos, which, hey, I bought it on kindle sale for the pictures。 So kind of what I expected。 I did expect actual writing, though, not just a response to the previous book (here's a bulleted list of what our audience thought of it) and photo captions。 The book is 255 pages。 I checked out the audio to listen to while I looked at the ebook and it was less than 3 hours long。 That's so few words。 Honestly, the amount of pictures could have been upped, too - the most prevalent thing in the book is empty white space。 。。。more

I'm not going to lie, I just the read the beginning of the book and the sections that applied to areas of my life that need better organization。 I got some great inspiration from the descriptions of how to organize and the beautiful photos。 I'm not going to lie, I just the read the beginning of the book and the sections that applied to areas of my life that need better organization。 I got some great inspiration from the descriptions of how to organize and the beautiful photos。 。。。more

I love the way they display everything by rainbow! Such a cool concept!

This was a real fluff piece full of beautiful spaces with ridiculous amounts of storage space to creatively store excessive amounts of stuff。 This is in no way a practical book for normal people who need advice on how to store/organize things with limited space。 Not everyone has an entire closet to store nothing but napkins in ROYGBIV order。

Cori

Lots of pretty pictures of organized cabinets and closets and shelves, but too much name dropping and self-congratulating-while-I’m-pretending-to-insult-myself to be a truly helpful How To book。 Would be much more useful if there was more practical guidance to accompany the photos。

I loved the ideas and pictures in this。 But unfortunately we don’t all have the resources to be this organized all the time 😂。

4* Happened to pick this up from the library。。。 read it cover to cover and loved it! I felt so encouraged by the authors' permission that "it's okay to own stuff when you。。。" Your possessions just need to be edited and stored properly。 The rainbow color organizing got a bit old after a while。 4* Happened to pick this up from the library。。。 read it cover to cover and loved it! It is nice to look at the pictures, guilty pleasure! But not really realistic for an average family。 The do give some tips, but it is mainly just a nice book to check the pictures of their work。

Gives great surface level ideas and guidance for organizing various spaces。 I appreciate the emphasis they place in creating categories and containing belongings。 Rainbows are fun。All that being said, this is not a "how to organize everything" book that will not guide you step by step in how to organize your pantry or closet。 It's an idea or aspirational book。 The photos are beautiful but a lot of what's shown here might be out of reach for the average person who doesn't have several hundreds of Gives great surface level ideas and guidance for organizing various spaces。 I appreciate the emphasis they place in creating categories and containing belongings。 Rainbows are fun。All that being said, this is not a "how to organize everything" book that will not guide you step by step in how to organize your pantry or closet。 It's an idea or aspirational book。 The photos are beautiful but a lot of what's shown here might be out of reach for the average person who doesn't have several hundreds of dollars to spend on matching containers。 Many of the spaces in the book belong to celebrity clients who have an abundance of space and money to invest in perfect organizational products。 。。。more

My very organized heart loved the pictures! I love organizing closets, drawers, pantries, etc。, so the book made me inspired to do even more projects around the house。 If you haven’t watched the show, or love organization in general, there wasn’t a ton of information to be gained from the book。

Liliana Andrade

The best part of the book: the pictures。 Going through all these perfectly rainbow-organized spaces is visually satisfying。 However, there’s no much about organizing tips and I don’t think this is attainable for an average household。 You can get some inspiration, though。 And enjoy the photos!

Cute, easy lifestyle read

Great photos for ideas, but I find I have an overwhelming urge to go arrange my books by color on the bookshelves。

The first book was very useful, this one not so much。 It is fun to read the witty writing and banter from the ladies we love and enjoy and respect, but it wasn’t really a huge help like the one before。 The only reason I appreciated flipping through it was to just get more ideas, as this one had more photos and they had even more experience with their craft。 Not necessary though。 The first book gives you all you need。

This kind of book definitely has an audience and I'm glad some people can get inspired by content like this。 Even if I can't。 I'm not going to go into all the reasons why I didn't like this book, as I generally like to keep my reading reactions light-hearted。 That being said, I feel like I have to point out one thing for the benefit of child/parent relationships everywhere: I don't care how much you might want a stocked cupboard, if your child receives a gift you don't particularly like, please This kind of book definitely has an audience and I'm glad some people can get inspired by content like this。 Even if I can't。 I'm not going to go into all the reasons why I didn't like this book, as I generally like to keep my reading reactions light-hearted。 That being said, I feel like I have to point out one thing for the benefit of child/parent relationships everywhere: I don't care how much you might want a stocked cupboard, if your child receives a gift you don't particularly like, please please do not 'take it from them when they're not looking and add it to the regifting collection'。 I actually had to read this piece of advice three times because I thought I read it wrong。 If your child finds out later that you stole from them in order to "grow your gifting collection", that could seriously scar their trust in you。 I know some people get addicted to the labeled Tupperware life, but please stop short of damaging family relationships。 I can't believe this needs to be said。 As I said above, content like this certainly has its audience, and I'm glad these authors have found theirs。 。。。more

I watched the Netflix series and fell in love with The Home Edit。 As a perfectionist I love organising every part of my home but it never seems to look like theirs, and I was hoping that this book would help。 Mixed feelings on this one。 On one hand the book is filled with beautiful pictures of organised homes, gives solutions for all parts of the house and has funny anecdotes from Clea & Joanna。 However, all the beautiful homes pictured belong largely to celebrities and those with a large dispos I watched the Netflix series and fell in love with The Home Edit。 As a perfectionist I love organising every part of my home but it never seems to look like theirs, and I was hoping that this book would help。 Mixed feelings on this one。 On one hand the book is filled with beautiful pictures of organised homes, gives solutions for all parts of the house and has funny anecdotes from Clea & Joanna。 However, all the beautiful homes pictured belong largely to celebrities and those with a large disposable income。 Whilst some of these organisation practises can be brought into smaller, less grand homes, it would have been nice had they shown some more realistic homes。 7/10 because the pictures truly do make your heart sing, if you’re into organisation, but just think it’s wildly unrealistic for the majority of people。 。。。more

A lot of what was included was a reminder of things I already know and believe。 I'm a visual person so I would have loved pictures and more practical examples of what it looks like in various places。 (I did the audio book, so, to be fair, the actual book may have included these things。 😂🤷🏻‍♀️) A lot of what was included was a reminder of things I already know and believe。 I'm a visual person so I would have loved pictures and more practical examples of what it looks like in various places。 (I did the audio book, so, to be fair, the actual book may have included these things。 😂🤷🏻‍♀️) 。。。more

Great pictures and some good organisational ideasI really liked some of the ideas in this book for organising your spaces, but as some other reviewers say a lot of the ideas involve having large spaces available for storage or display。 It is predominantly a US book so maybe that's why but I know few people in the UK who have a pantry or a walk-in wardrobe。 Nevertheless I have been convinced by the colour-coded organising and like that they don't bully you to go minimalist。 The best thing I imple Great pictures and some good organisational ideasI really liked some of the ideas in this book for organising your spaces, but as some other reviewers say a lot of the ideas involve having large spaces available for storage or display。 It is predominantly a US book so maybe that's why but I know few people in the UK who have a pantry or a walk-in wardrobe。 Nevertheless I have been convinced by the colour-coded organising and like that they don't bully you to go minimalist。 The best thing I implemented was colour-coding the apps on my phone- it does actually help me to find things quickly。 I think it was worth the 99p I paid for it on a kindle deal but I learnt more practical ideas from one episode of tidying up with Marie Kondo than this entire book。 I did enjoy reading it though, hence the 3 stars。 。。。more

Not what I was expecting。 A lot of celebrity rooms that are in no way a reality for most people。 Also, everything was organized by color, in rainbow order。 Just odd。

Read the first book first!I would have enjoyed this more if I had read the first book。 I appreciated the examples, but needed to understand the system better to fully appreciate this。

If only by reading this book my house would organize itself。

Wherever I’ve lived, I’ve always tried to make the most of all the space, including heights and nooks, and anything that helps to make the chaos of enjoying owning things easier to comprehend。 Did I insist on watching Frasier when my children were both babies for the beauty of the huge streamlined, minimalist apartments, whilst the japes/scrapes comedy brothers are constantly tracing and buying things that they long for。 My dreams of a Nile’s style wrapping room can always make me smile as a long term personal aim, and in the last month I have finally treated myself to more my lifesize suitable wrapping paper organising boxes so I can enjoy the presentation part of gifting (one for day to day, one for Christmas natch)。These factors are what made this book appeal - like two friends nattering whilst showing photos and heat magazine feature projects all around the tidying and organising of lifestyles - some of it could be viewed as shallow, and I’m still not at the roygbiv stage… but today might be the day that I start considering the approach for a bit more fun, and maybe I should treat myself to those battery organisers…? You’ve got to have a system! 。。。more

3-4Some of the things in this book tend to be unrealistic, but I found the book really interesting。 But I do agree with the "workout? what's that?" Lots of pictures and (some) good explanations。 Funny stories and such, so it isn't too boring, either。(Well, I enjoy reading certain nonfiction。 Unless it gets repetitive。 This book, gladly, wasn't repetitive。)The more reviews I read, the more I start to agree with this book is mainly pictures and explanations。 The only way anyone in their right mind could do this is HARD work, dedication, lots of containers, and valuable time to do this。 If you are a hot mess and you really need this work done, why not just keep it simple? Although I do think it looks nice, it is really unrealistic。 Most people don't have that kind of time (and amount of labels/containers。)Unrealistic? Yes。Inspiring? Of course!Interesting? Yes!So unless you're desperate for some organizing inspiration, this book won't actually TELL you how to get the job done。 It has some vague instructions。 To be clear, it was an INTERESTING but FAR-FETCHED book。 I didn't get this book to actually DO organizing。 I got the book to READ and get INSPIRATION to organize in my life。 So in my opinion, this book deserves a solid 3-4。5 stars。 。。。more

The writing frustrated me (so many sidenotes) (always in parenthesis), it felt like a big ad for purchasing containers, and my general conclusion is that organizing using this philosophy comes from a huge place of privilege。 I like the idea of, for organizing to be sustainable (not eco-friendly… bc of the containers on containers on containers), you should only fill 80% of your space in order to leave yourself room to breathe and grow。 That was about the only part of the book I agreed with。 And The writing frustrated me (so many sidenotes) (always in parenthesis), it felt like a big ad for purchasing containers, and my general conclusion is that organizing using this philosophy comes from a huge place of privilege。 I like the idea of, for organizing to be sustainable (not eco-friendly… bc of the containers on containers on containers), you should only fill 80% of your space in order to leave yourself room to breathe and grow。 That was about the only part of the book I agreed with。 And yeah, it might have to do with the fact that I have no idea who this women are, never watched their show, cannot relate to celebrity homes, and reject the idea that you should talk about your family like they’re an inconvenience, but idk… not a huge fan。 I feel like two stars was generous (because when I saw that they put books that didn’t fit in their color scheme backwards on the shelf, I almost reduced it to a one star read)。 。。。more

I don’t know who the authors are。 I haven’t seen their show and felt like I was missing something。 I don’t care about hearing how they organized celebrity’s homes。 There were some funny moments。 “If the kids are screaming you know they are breathing。” Disappointed by the lack of helpful advice regarding organizing。 I do feel compelled to “rainbow” my book shelf though。
