The first thing that I noticed about this book is the front cover。 There are children of all races wearing shirt with slogans and holding posters with slogans。 "Every voice matters。" Each double spread was the same color, for instance the first double spread was purple, the next was yellow, then blue and so on。 The book was colorful and spoke with words and actions。 Each page had speech bubbles。 Your voice doesn't have to be loud to be heard。 Just speak up, be there when someone needs you, get c The first thing that I noticed about this book is the front cover。 There are children of all races wearing shirt with slogans and holding posters with slogans。 "Every voice matters。" Each double spread was the same color, for instance the first double spread was purple, the next was yellow, then blue and so on。 The book was colorful and spoke with words and actions。 Each page had speech bubbles。 Your voice doesn't have to be loud to be heard。 Just speak up, be there when someone needs you, get creative, be brave and stand up to bullies if someone needs help, make flowers from dirt, use your words on paper, use your words to express your feelings when you are misunderstood, and being grateful for being alive。 As long as it comes from your heart it doesn't have to be loud。 I like the last page as the speech bubbles are empty。 This suggest that children can fill it in with their own words。 。。。more

I thoroughly enjoy these Peter H。 Reynolds books because they have such a good message for young readers。 This book talks about saying something when you see someone being treated unfairly, which is so important to teach in schools these days。 The pictures are fun and entertaining and the kids I teach really enjoy it。 This would be a good book to build a lesson plan around!

happy read across america week 2022! going to be reading this to elementary schoolers in honor of this week, and i love it。 there are many ways to say something -- not just through spoken language。 we all have many voices that need to be heard in their own unique ways and "say something" is a really nice picture book that illustrates that perfectly to younger audiences。 :) happy read across america week 2022! going to be reading this to elementary schoolers in honor of this week, and i love it。 there are many ways to say something -- not just through spoken language。 we all have many voices that need to be heard in their own unique ways and "say something" is a really nice picture book that illustrates that perfectly to younger audiences。 :) 。。。more

Peter J。 Reynolds creates a dynamic narrative for children to realize that their voices count and they have valid offering to make to our society。 With vibrant illustrations and "what if" scenarios, children are offered concrete examples and means of what they can do to execute change within their world。 Peter J。 Reynolds creates a dynamic narrative for children to realize that their voices count and they have valid offering to make to our society。 With vibrant illustrations and "what if" scenarios, children are offered concrete examples and means of what they can do to execute change within their world。 。。。more

Text-to-World ConnectionThis book was a great read。 It stirred up so many memories about all the things that has taken place over the last three years。 with the Voter’s Right act protest all the way to the BLACK LIVES MATTER protest。 These were particularly important acts in our world today。 The book talks about speaking up simply say something。 I know children see all the world events and do not understand it fully。 This book will open the conversation and help explain what it means to Say Some Text-to-World ConnectionThis book was a great read。 It stirred up so many memories about all the things that has taken place over the last three years。 with the Voter’s Right act protest all the way to the BLACK LIVES MATTER protest。 These were particularly important acts in our world today。 The book talks about speaking up simply say something。 I know children see all the world events and do not understand it fully。 This book will open the conversation and help explain what it means to Say Something。 in the book it shows that their voice matters no matter how loud or how low。 In our world there is a saying (Closed mouths do not get feed) which simply means if you do not speak up you will not be heard。 It is particularly important children know that their voice matters, and change cannot happen without movement。 That movement could be as simple as Saying Something。 。。。more

The paperback edition is available in my book fair currently (November 2021), and I revisited this。 I think we all need this book, especially in today's political climate and the overall state of the world。 The paperback edition is available in my book fair currently (November 2021), and I revisited this。 I think we all need this book, especially in today's political climate and the overall state of the world。 。。。more

Your voice matters! This book helps get that point across。 I know this is written as a children's book, but really, it would be helpful for any and everyone to read。 Your voice matters! Our family read this book together and read this book in our back to school stack。 This book works better as an activity book where you read it and then do an activity related to the message in the book。 I would recommend this as a classroom read aloud。

I love everything Peter Reynolds writes and illustrates。 Sweet book about using your voice。

This books gives different examples of how we all can say something whether through our voice, written words, actions, art, etc。 There is no voice too small and any of our voices can make a difference。 Reading this, I was reminded of myself when I was very young and very shy。 This book would have encouraged me to find my "voice" and use it。 This books gives different examples of how we all can say something whether through our voice, written words, actions, art, etc。 There is no voice too small and any of our voices can make a difference。 Reading this, I was reminded of myself when I was very young and very shy。 This book would have encouraged me to find my "voice" and use it。 。。。more

My favorite part was the introduction where the author says the "world needs your voice" and then it talks about the many ways to say something。 We came up with 2 more ways to say something--with puppets and with theater。 I remember at the March for Racial Justice that we took a knee like Colin Kaepernick (Mom adds that youth can say something with fabric in Social Justice Sewing Academy blocks) My favorite part was the introduction where the author says the "world needs your voice" and then it talks about the many ways to say something。 We came up with 2 more ways to say something--with puppets and with theater。 I remember at the March for Racial Justice that we took a knee like Colin Kaepernick (Mom adds that youth can say something with fabric in Social Justice Sewing Academy blocks) 。。。more

3 1/2 stars。 Not a story; more a pep talk encouraging you to let your voice be heard。 Good message, if a bit generic。 I didn’t love that it says to be grateful to the universe instead of grateful to God。

Great book about speaking up for yourself and what you believe in。 Highlights about how your voice is very powerful and part of what makes you who you are。 Great book to read to children of all ages especially early in the school year to highlight the importance of voice。 Great illustration with great details。
