Summary

Could one split second change her life forever?

Hannah and Si are in love and on the same track - that is, until their train divides on the way to a wedding。 The next morning, Hannah wakes up in Paris and realises that her boyfriend (and her ticket) are 300 miles away in Amsterdam!

But then Hannah meets Léo on the station platform, and he's everything Si isn't。 Spending the day with him in Paris forces Hannah to question how well she really knows herself - and whether, sometimes, you need to go in the wrong direction to find everything you've been looking for。。。

The best word to describe this: wholesome!

I feel confused after reading this book。 It was not good。The characters are annoying, the book is boring, the plot is senseless… And don’t get me started on the dialogue because … ???I was so excited to read this book thinking it would bring me the ‘witty and heartfelt love story’ it promised, but this book is anything but。It was depressing: how dependent on Simon Hannah was; how she seemed so unaware and innocent; how we get fifty thousand scenes of Hannah and Léo driving around Paris and eatin I feel confused after reading this book。 It was not good。The characters are annoying, the book is boring, the plot is senseless… And don’t get me started on the dialogue because … ???I was so excited to read this book thinking it would bring me the ‘witty and heartfelt love story’ it promised, but this book is anything but。It was depressing: how dependent on Simon Hannah was; how she seemed so unaware and innocent; how we get fifty thousand scenes of Hannah and Léo driving around Paris and eating and then back to driving and more eating without it baring any importance; how he takes her to his friend’s house and she just humbly lets her borrow her shower, clothes, perfume, laptop… what?; how UNREALISTIC this story is。I thought about DNF’ing this because the back and forth and the dialogue were so terrible, so bland…It was a two-star book for me。 。。。more

This book was nothing at all like what I expected, but I enjoyed it nonetheless。 It was a great story of self discovery, girl power and realising you don’t need a man to look after you, but with the right person in your corner, you can be the best version of yourself。 I was gutted about the distinct lack of any real romance in this, although Leo and Hannah were still really sweet and good for each other。 The descriptions of Paris were really beautiful too。

Alice

Oh this was so cute。 I loved it, just loved hannah。 And how she was , really funny too。

Alison

I’ll admit I did skim about half of this book - I’m not sure romances are my thing anymore - but I did think the end was cute。 It would make a cute rom com。

Ebony

Amazing。 I couldn’t put it down I was so hooked!!! So recommend

This book made me miss Paris so, so much。 I felt like I was walking through the past and reliving my own experiences on the streets of Paris。

Ok, so I really tried to like this book。 I really, really did。 But。。。there were just some things that I just couldn't ignore that made me not like it as much as I thought I would。 First, I liked Hannah, Simon, and Léo, but I didn't like them as characters。 I really didn't like how Hannah was such a klutz and always losing things all the time and not paying attention to things, and I get that a character like that is part of most romance tropes, but it was waaaayyy too much。 Simon was just so con Ok, so I really tried to like this book。 I really, really did。 But。。。there were just some things that I just couldn't ignore that made me not like it as much as I thought I would。 First, I liked Hannah, Simon, and Léo, but I didn't like them as characters。 I really didn't like how Hannah was such a klutz and always losing things all the time and not paying attention to things, and I get that a character like that is part of most romance tropes, but it was waaaayyy too much。 Simon was just so condescending, so of course, I didn't like him, and Léo was good, but his and Hannah's connection was too fast and it all felt too rushed at the end。 What I did enjoy about the book were the setting descriptions。 The Paris of the book sounded incredible and magical。 Because of that, I am giving this book three stars。 But overall, it was ok。 。。。more

i adored hannah and léo! it was an amazing slow burn and a life-changing way of self discovery

Denise Tannock

This book was okay for a light read with some romance in it。

Catherine

The story line featured not only the uncoupling of a train (part heading to Paris and part to Amsterdam) it led to the uncoupling of a relationship。A joyous, charming story。

isabella

it’s a really cool concept i just feel it wasn’t executed as well as it could be。 like the characters i felt didn’t have much depth

Enjoyed for the most part。 Took a long time for me to get going with this book as it didn’t grab me from the get go but I loved the ending… very romantic!

This was an ok read! I needed pure Paris escapism and this did do that a bit。 My main thing with this book was that it is the epitome of slow burn and so I did find it slow, the story was quite slow-paced。 The last 30 pages really picked up and I couldn’t put it down, the action really picked up by the end。 I also felt that there was stereotyping of French people and culture which I think is outdated and unnecessary。 The MC was very judgemental and defensive at first, which I found super irritat This was an ok read!

Surprised how fast it was to read。 Characters ok and a bit predictably and unrealistic but cute。 Best part was describing Paris though。

RomCom。 Met on Feb。 29th then agreed to meet again on Feb。 29th。 WTF

I really loved the environments and cities described in this book。 Venice, Paris and Amsterdam。 To travel by train through Europe 。。。 To meet a mysterious French man in the city of love and fall in love 。。 A winning concept indeed。 The downside is that the book sometimes felt a bit drawn out。 And that the end was so predictable。 Had wished me a stronger ending to such a good story。

3。5 Stars- more thoughts to come。

Such an easy fun loving read so good

Cute & quick little little read。 Makes me want to travel Paris。 & A good reminder to never settle for something that doesn’t feel completely right。 “It’s funny how you could meet a perfect stranger, be thrown together and begin to share things that you hadn’t told your closest friends & probably never would。”

i loved hannah and léo!! they were so cute but it was suchhh a slow burn and i would’ve liked to see them together more at the end

Mariella Venrooy

Fun easy read

Raven

A cute little contemporary with a hint of romance, exactly what I needed at the time of reading。 There is a hint of travel, we are shown some of the tourist attractions of Paris however this is not the focus of the book, the main story is the connection between our two main characters and how bad luck can sometimes turn out for the best。

I wanted to love this book。 I really did。 I tried reading it and only got to Chapter 4。。。。I could not finish it。 I am a lover of all things romcom, Paris, Europe, traveling but this one did not peak my interest。 The storyline was meh and I really didn't care how it ended。 Was not a fan of the characters either。 I wanted to love this book。 I really did。 I tried reading it and only got to Chapter 4。。。。I could not finish it。 I am a lover of all things romcom, Paris, Europe, traveling but this one did not peak my interest。 The storyline was meh and I really didn't care how it ended。 Was not a fan of the characters either。 。。。more
