This book is a newer version of Love You Forever。 I found this book to be very sweet and heartwarming, and reminded me the importance of our parents and how they love they display can be life changing。

"To the Moon and Back for You" by Emilia Bechrakis Serhant is a book about children and the journey to parenthood。 It discusses the thoughts of a soon to be parent through beautiful illustrations and words。 The Author of this book had fertility struggle, which is common but not talked about。 By reading this book, children can see the excitement parents/guardians feel for their child before they are born, or before they meet。 For example, the book says that "I loved you before I met you。 I felt y "To the Moon and Back for You" by Emilia Bechrakis Serhant is a book about children and the journey to parenthood。 It discusses the thoughts of a soon to be parent through beautiful illustrations and words。 The Author of this book had fertility struggle, which is common but not talked about。 By reading this book, children can see the excitement parents/guardians feel for their child before they are born, or before they meet。 For example, the book says that "I loved you before I met you。 I felt you in my arms before I could hold you (pg。 1)。 This quote does a wonderful job of setting up the tone of the book, and shows that this journey is long, hard, and has many obstacles to overcome along the way。 Although it is recommended for two to five year olds, I found this book to have higher-level vocabulary and comprehension levels, and would put it in a first or second grade classroom。 Overall, Emilia Bechrakis Serhant wrote a moving picture story book about parenthood and the thoughts of a soon to be parent。 I give this book five stars, because it was a great read and it put a smile on my face。 。。。more

Words can't even describe how much I love this book。 It really beautifully captures my journey and dedication to motherhood and is a wonderful celebration of motherhood (parenthood), love, and what we do for our children, even before they're with us! This is an amazing book showing children the struggles that some people have when trying to have a baby and become a parent。 It talks about how all people no matter their shape or size can have trouble getting pregnant。 Most children will not understand this concept if you just tell them about it but this book does a great job explaining it for children to comprehend。

I loved the colors in this book, and the story was very heartwarming。

Sometimes Mother’s Day is a celebration of a long and difficult journey。There was so much love in this story。 The main character waited a long time to become a parent, and her determination to finally be someone’s mom made me smile。 There is definitely something to be said for showing moms who are as selfless and loving as this one。 She was a good role model for young readers, and the depth of her feelings for her child were expressed well。While I completely understood the metaphorical nature of Sometimes Mother’s Day is a celebration of a long and difficult journey。There was so much love in this story。 The main character waited a long time to become a parent, and her determination to finally be someone’s mom made me smile。 There is definitely something to be said for showing moms who are as selfless and loving as this one。 She was a good role model for young readers, and the depth of her feelings for her child were expressed well。While I completely understood the metaphorical nature of the main character’s journey to parenthood, it was so abstract that the plot never really thickened into something most small children would appreciate。 The audience saw the mother climbing a tall mountain and struggling to walk in hot, dusty desert, but the storyline never explained why these challenges were necessary in order for her to be able to find her baby。 Everything was tilted so far in the favor of adult readers who can read between the lines that I’m not entirely sure how much this would appeal to the average small child unless the grownups in their lives explained some stuff in advance。One of the beautiful things about this picture book was just how open-ended it was about how the main character eventually became a mother。 Was her child conceived through fertility treatments? Did they adopt their baby? Is it possible the main character and her spouse signed up to be foster parents? Readers were free to come up with all sorts of explanations about how this baby came into her parents’ lives。 The plot could have been interpreted to include any family planning option that currently exists which makes this useful for so many different types of families。I’d recommend To the Moon and Back for You to any family who had a long or difficult journey when they decided they wanted to have a new baby。 。。。more

Lovely story for a mother who has struggled to conceive。 I appreciated the author’s notes at the back of the book。 Beautiful pictures too。

Oh this book is everything I was hoping it would be when I saw it online。 The pictures are beautiful and the words tell so beautifully and simply the feelings any parent who struggled to conceive/deliver/adopt their little ones would want their child to know。 It says, I don't just love you, I fought for you and treasure you。 You weren't a happy accident, you were wanted。 Fiercely。 So excited to give this to Dante for Christmas and read it to him for years (and someday he'll even begin to underst Oh this book is everything I was hoping it would be when I saw it online。 The pictures are beautiful and the words tell so beautifully and simply the feelings any parent who struggled to conceive/deliver/adopt their little ones would want their child to know。 It says, I don't just love you, I fought for you and treasure you。 You weren't a happy accident, you were wanted。 Fiercely。 So excited to give this to Dante for Christmas and read it to him for years (and someday he'll even begin to understand what the words mean)。 。。。more

What a lovely picture book regarding a story probably not often discussed for this reader age---infertility。 Through pictures and lovely prose, the book focuses on IVF。 I might have bought a few copies to give to friends。

Two levels to this picture book。 Kids will enjoy the simple story about how special they are。 Those who have walked a harder path to parenthood will completely relate to the analogies provided as they've struggled to reach their heart cries。 Beautiful illustrations show the outpouring of love and peace when parents are born。 Two levels to this picture book。 Kids will enjoy the simple story about how special they are。 Those who have walked a harder path to parenthood will completely relate to the analogies provided as they've struggled to reach their heart cries。 Beautiful illustrations show the outpouring of love and peace when parents are born。 。。。more

I love everything about this book from its whimsical retelling of a tumultuous journey to parenthood and all the hardships and hurts along the way; I love how gripping and real the story is。 The pictures resonate with those who have struggled along the road of infertility (for whatever reason) and has an uplifting message for the reader and listener alike。 My husband bought this book for me, hunting it down after finding it at Target, going back to buy it, and finding it gone。 He was lucky to ha I love everything about this book from its whimsical retelling of a tumultuous journey to parenthood and all the hardships and hurts along the way; I love how gripping and real the story is。 The pictures resonate with those who have struggled along the road of infertility (for whatever reason) and has an uplifting message for the reader and listener alike。 My husband bought this book for me, hunting it down after finding it at Target, going back to buy it, and finding it gone。 He was lucky to happen upon this book again at a bookstore in Connecticut and I am incredibly lucky to have him and our son。Happy reading to all! 。。。more

The journey to becoming a mama is so different for every woman。 For some it is very difficult with multiple fertility treatments, adoption processes, and some celebrate the birth of a rainbow baby that was long hoped for。 This book is the perfect read for anyone who has a struggled to gain the title of a Mama。 I definitely became teary-eyed reading this one to my little one。 This book would also make a phenomenal shower gift。

Great subject matter that you don't often see in children's books。 But it didn't seem like something children would easily grasp or understand。 Maybe if it had different artwork? Nonetheless, a subject matter we should be seeing more of in picture books, as it is not always easy to create a family。 We should be normalizing that。 Great subject matter that you don't often see in children's books。 But it didn't seem like something children would easily grasp or understand。 Maybe if it had different artwork? I was really excited about the premise of this book as there are few books like it, though it was so brief and fell a little short。 I'm grateful that Bechrakis Serhant wrote this book, but Matthew Cordell's _Wish_ remains the book I gift to friends who (like me) have gone through a tough road to build their families。 I was really excited about the premise of this book as there are few books like it, though it was so brief and fell a little short。 I'm grateful that Bechrakis Serhant wrote this book, but Matthew Cordell's _Wish_ remains the book I gift to friends who (like me) have gone through a tough road to build their families。 。。。more

There was a mix of emotions when it came to this book, mainly because of the meaning behind it。 Yes, it was moving, and had a lot of what I felt when I was able to have my little ones。 But, even so, this didn't seem to be a story for everyone。 It's one that might work perfectly for those who have gone through similar situations, an easier and heart-warming way to tell our little ones their beginnings。 For others though, it won't be as appealing。That's having to do with the fact that this story i There was a mix of emotions when it came to this book, mainly because of the meaning behind it。 Yes, it was moving, and had a lot of what I felt when I was able to have my little ones。 But, even so, this didn't seem to be a story for everyone。 It's one that might work perfectly for those who have gone through similar situations, an easier and heart-warming way to tell our little ones their beginnings。 For others though, it won't be as appealing。That's having to do with the fact that this story isn't as much for the child, as it is for the parent。 Like I said, more geared towards those with similar stories。 Because, if we go back to whom these books are for, it's not one a child would really enjoy, or understand (without explanations)。 For that reason, I can't quite say it's the best book to pick up for a child。 It will be a nice addition for some, but not for others。 It all depends on your story。***I received this copy from Random House Books for Young Readers, in exchange for an honest review。 All opinions are my own。*** 。。。more

Okay let me start by saying that I read through some of the reviews after reading this book and I strongly disagree with some of the analysis that say that this isn’t for children and that they wouldn’t understand and that the author just wrote it for herself。 First, unless you’ve been through the process of struggling to have a child it’s easy to write off the content of this book。 Second, I don’t think it was the authors intention for the child to understand the purpose of this book right away Okay let me start by saying that I read through some of the reviews after reading this book and I strongly disagree with some of the analysis that say that this isn’t for children and that they wouldn’t understand and that the author just wrote it for herself。 First, unless you’ve been through the process of struggling to have a child it’s easy to write off the content of this book。 Second, I don’t think it was the authors intention for the child to understand the purpose of this book right away。 I think that it’s about teaching our children that as mothers we’re willing to go to the ends of the earth for them。 I think when they are older this book will serve as a good place for a conversation opener about the fertility process。 I’m all about being mindful of what content we share with growing children; however, I’m also very much about being honest to our children in ways that they can understand。 This book doesn’t need to explain the fertility process to a child, it is meant to show the love that a mother has for her child。 I think people get bogged down in the idea that you can’t use picture books for older children and that’s just not true。 This book is versatile and can be used for a variety of ages。 The conversations that are developed around this book can be changed and tailored to the age of the child。 Anyway, I really enjoyed it。 I wish it was a little longer but the abstract artwork and beautiful colors fit the story brilliantly。 I’m slowly becoming a fan of picture books that appear to use some form of watercolor for the basis of the artwork。 The language is poetic and beautiful。 And while I didn’t have fertility issues in conceiving my daughter I did have to give birth to her alone as a single mother and it was the most difficult thing I went through but I would do it all over again just to have her。 I really connected to this author and I look forward to seeing more of her work。 。。。more

This is the book you gift to the new mom who has had a long journey to her baby。 It was written by a mom who struggled through years of infertility but I think it could also work with an adoption journey。 It is a gorgeous book that I wish I could have read to my twins when they were babies。 The words are powerful and poignant, the illustrations are luminous and stunning。 You can feel the heart of the mother pounding on these pages。 A gift。
