Summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn comes the story of Benedict Bridgerton, in the third of her beloved Regency-set novels featuring her charming, powerful Bridgerton family, now a series created by Shondaland for Netflix。

BENEDICT’S STORY

Sophie Beckett never dreamed she’d be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton’s famed masquerade ball—or that “Prince Charming” would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother。 But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty。 Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight。

Ever since that magical night, a radiant vision in silver has blinded Benedict to the attractions of any other—except, perhaps, this alluring and oddly familiar beauty dressed in housemaid’s garb whom he feels compelled to rescue from a most disagreeable situation。 He has sworn to find and wed his mystery miss, but this breathtaking maid makes him weak with wanting her。 Yet, if he offers her his heart, will Benedict sacrifice his only chance for a fairy-tale love?

I expected more from the plot, they were kinda cute at times, but most of the times, Benedict acted like a dick

Literally read this after watching Bridgerton S2 because I was too impatient to wait for S3 lol。 I enjoyed the Cinderella theme and it had its funny moments。 The romance was nice and I liked that there was also friendship between the two and not just strictly lust。 My only complaint is that I didn't like how forceful Benedict was sometimes。 He didn't seem to care about what Sophie wanted and he always found a way to convince her to do something she doesn't want to do。 Literally read this after watching Bridgerton S2 because I was too impatient to wait for S3 lol。 I enjoyed the Cinderella theme and it had its funny moments。 The romance was nice and I liked that there was also friendship between the two and not just strictly lust。 My only complaint is that I didn't like how forceful Benedict was sometimes。 He didn't seem to care about what Sophie wanted and he always found a way to convince her to do something she doesn't want to do。 。。。more

3,88 ⭐ to be preciseWhy? I don't know。 I started this book around one o'clock today (AM) and read all afternoon。I also decided that I really wanted to have Benedict's story as 3rd season story of Bridgerton。 3,88 ⭐ to be preciseWhy? Very disappointing。 This book ruined Benedict Bridgerton。 In the show he is the sarcastic, fun, artistic brother everyone loves。 In the book they pretty much removed all of his good characteristics and replaced them with manipulative, self-centered, sexist, and just down right annoying traits。 And then Sophie, had a compelling backstory but ultimately was such a flop of a character。 Almost the entire book she complains about NOT being treated like a servant and how she doesn't deserve anything。 Very disappointing。 This book ruined Benedict Bridgerton。 In the show he is the sarcastic, fun, artistic brother everyone loves。 In the book they pretty much removed all of his good characteristics and replaced them with manipulative, self-centered, sexist, and just down right annoying traits。 And then Sophie, had a compelling backstory but ultimately was such a flop of a character。 Almost the entire book she complains about NOT being treated like a servant and how she doesn't deserve anything。 She lets people, mostly men push her around and doesn't ever really think for herself。 I am for sure blaming the men more than her but why Julia Quinn must you write female characters so poorly? The main plot of these books is always the romance, but even that can't be done well。 Half of the "romance" is literally kidnapping, blackmail, and lack of consent。 Also zero build up or chemistry between Sophie and Benedict。 The one good thing about this book, earning it that 1 star is, Hyacinth Bridgerton。 I love her。 Please continue throwing scones at people。 。。。more

This one and The Duke and I are tied for first。 Without a doubt in my mind。I loved Benedict! This was similar to a Cinderella retelling, which I am not usually a fan of-but I loved this。 Sophie is just trying to get her life together and Benedict is an ass。 But, for the life of me, I do love me a good Alphahole hero。 Sophie has no issue standing up for her self and telling Benedict where to stuff it。Honestly, pretty sure that I loved this book solely because I loved Sophie。 I started reading thi This one and The Duke and I are tied for first。 Without a doubt in my mind。I loved Benedict! It has a Cinderella theme at the start which for some reason really irritated me, but they quickly drift from that into a much better/darker, more Julia Quinn-esque type of plotline。 Overall, a fantastic and gripping read。

Loved going through Benedict’s story! I really love this series because of the historical factor。 You really have to see the relevance of the things the characters are doing, given the time period!

Benedict saw a charming woman in silver at his mother's masquerade ball and never forgot her。 The feelings she triggered in him - he thought he would never feel that again。 Until Sophie enters his life。 But there is an obstacle, Sophie is a maid and he is a Bridgerton。 But maybe appearances do matter? The third part reminds at the beginning of Cinderella, which I personally liked very much and so I was already under the spell。 This magic lasted until the end。 With the third part of Bridgerton, J Benedict saw a charming woman in silver at his mother's masquerade ball and never forgot her。 The feelings she triggered in him - he thought he would never feel that again。 Until Sophie enters his life。 But there is an obstacle, Sophie is a maid and he is a Bridgerton。 But maybe appearances do matter? I really enjoyed it。 I loved the Cinderella elements of the story, as it's one of my favourite Disney movies, i couldn't help but enjoy it。 I really loved Sophie, she was so kind and sweet despite being mistreated - she deserved every bit of happiness Benedict and the Bridgerton's showed her。 I also really loved the epilogue with Posy。 It felt like I got two books in one which was nice。 I really enjoyed it。 I loved the Cinderella elements of the story, as it's one of my favourite Disney movies, i couldn't help but enjoy it。 I really loved Sophie, she was so kind and sweet despite being mistreated - she deserved every bit of happiness Benedict and the Bridgerton's showed her。 I also really loved the epilogue with Posy。 It felt like I got two books in one which was nice。 。。。more

Could not put it down After 2 seasons and 2 books of bridgerton, I was excited to read about a child that hasn't been shown on TV and once again Julia didn't disappoint。 It was obvious from the start that this was going to be something of a Cinderella story, but I do love a good fairytale, and once again I had trouble putting the book down (my children thank you, my housework does not)。 Another stunningly romantic novel from an amazing writer。 Would highly recommend again and again Could not put it down After 2 seasons and 2 books of bridgerton, I was excited to read about a child that hasn't been shown on TV and once again Julia didn't disappoint。 It was obvious from the start that this was going to be something of a Cinderella story, but I do love a good fairytale, and once again I had trouble putting the book down (my children thank you, my housework does not)。 Another stunningly romantic novel from an amazing writer。 Would highly recommend again and again 。。。more

I read this in one sitting, which hasn’t happen in god knows how long。 Somehow, it managed to be both stupider and smuttier than expected。 Dunno how I feel about it。 Anyway。 Will I read this again? No。 Will I binge the thing when it comes out on Netflix? Yes。 Will I read the sequels? Perhaps。 Depends on how long this flu lasts。

This is my second favorite in the series so far。 I really enjoyed Benedict’s and Sophie’s characters and how they interacted with one another。 Benedict had me swooning at times。 I only wish he would’ve treated Sophie better at times and I also wanted him to realize her worth sooner。 Like he shouldn’t have made such a big deal that she was a servant, tf does that matter。
