It’s a cute book so far

Cheesey and cute typical yuri magna。 Girl, who never thought she liked girls, falls for her landlord。

i'll admit, i actually DNF'd this one。 the writing is just so, so bad。 everything is happening all at once, there's an awkward moment where a toddler tries to breastfeed on a complete stranger, and suddenly out of nowhere the characters are almost kissing when there was zero chemistry between them。 maybe it gets better, but i'm good。 i'll admit, i actually DNF'd this one。 the writing is just so, so bad。 everything is happening all at once, there's an awkward moment where a toddler tries to breastfeed on a complete stranger, and suddenly out of nowhere the characters are almost kissing when there was zero chemistry between them。 maybe it gets better, but i'm good。 。。。more

This manga was simply adorable。 Days of Love at Seagull Villa struck that perfect balance of sweet and a little mature that worked well for me。 Mayumi is a late 20’s woman that has fled the city after a dramatic breakup with her fiancé。 She hopes to start life anew in the rural countryside to get away from everything and this I could sympathize with。 Going through infidelity is hard enough, it’s even harder when it becomes the topic of gossip。Mayumi meets Rin, her landlord and an outgoing tomboy This manga was simply adorable。 Days of Love at Seagull Villa struck that perfect balance of sweet and a little mature that worked well for me。 Mayumi is a late 20’s woman that has fled the city after a dramatic breakup with her fiancé。 She hopes to start life anew in the rural countryside to get away from everything and this I could sympathize with。 Going through infidelity is hard enough, it’s even harder when it becomes the topic of gossip。Mayumi meets Rin, her landlord and an outgoing tomboy raising a child on her own。 I enjoyed the friendship that blooms between these characters as they both deal with difficult pasts, yet make each other better。 I could relate a lot to Mayumi’s anxious personality as she questions the way that others view her, the imposter syndrome that she suffers is handled well。 Mayumi recognizes that she has run away from her problems and reckons with them, which was refreshing as most characters in these sorts of plots are childish and frustrating。Rin was a wonderful foil to Mayumi, although their initial encounters are awkward and a bit excessive。 While not instant, Mayumi develops feelings a little too fast。 I appreciated Rin’s thoughtfulness, showing greater maturity despite her seeming immaturity。 There is some fan service in the first volume but it is toned down greatly later on which I think was good。 My favorite character was very easily the baby of the family, Hinata! Her sweet toddler hijinks reminded me so much of raising my two daughters, scenes with her were just so funny it struck my tender motherly heart。What I couldn’t get behind however was the side plot between two middle school characters。 While they were both fun supporting characters to the main two, their incestuous relationship was too much and is jarring for what is otherwise a fairly wholesome story。 The final character feels a little bit like she was thrown in as the last challenge, but it is still handled pretty well。 One of the greatest criticisms I’ve seen is that readers wanted more answers as to why this character did the things that they did, but I didn’t mind it。 Even from my experiences with similar people, sometimes you just won’t ever get the closure of why they did what they did, and that is fine with me, it’s part of moving on。Despite my reservations about the taboo side romance, this manga was exactly the kind of heartwarming doki doki love story that I needed to cheer me out of my reading slump。 The romance between Mayumi and Rin was surprisingly mature, presenting a gay awakening between two adult women that I could appreciate。 。。。more

So firstly, this manga is adorable。 I love how it is a story about two women who, through their own hardships, start to fall in love。 The characters are really cute and I am inveted in what will come of them。 There are some uncomfortable aspects of how everyone interacts, especially in terms of sexual inuendos, but I think that is just either part of the yuri genre (which I have not read much of) or it is simply a cultural thing。 It was not enough to turn me off from the manga, though, and the r So firstly, this manga is adorable。 I love how it is a story about two women who, through their own hardships, start to fall in love。 The characters are really cute and I am inveted in what will come of them。 There are some uncomfortable aspects of how everyone interacts, especially in terms of sexual inuendos, but I think that is just either part of the yuri genre (which I have not read much of) or it is simply a cultural thing。 It was not enough to turn me off from the manga, though, and the relationships between the characters have me eager enough to continue reading。 。。。more

There are to many plotlines and none of them are going really deep。 Why do they like each other? There is just no chemistry and everything just went way to quickly and the passing is way off。 The complete unnecessary focus on boobs were a little cringy, but not as cringy as the kiss between the half sisters? Not sure what was going on there tbh。The art style on the other hand is really gorgeous。 But the story doesn't have a clear focus and it feels really rocky for a first volume。 There are to many plotlines and none of them are going really deep。 Why do they like each other? Very cute; the pacing was a little weird, and it was a little short, but I will definitely be buying the next one!

So many things about this were gross that I don’t know where to start… but it also was dumb enough that it’s not even worth the energy to explain why。 How does this have 3。94 rating?

It just wasn’t for me personally。

Disclaimer: review contains minor spoilers as it is for the whole series。This was a nice series but ultimately too short (gah this is the second time I've had this problem with a Kodama Naoko manga)。 Probably needed like five volumes to flesh it out a bit more 。 The ending was sweet but it didn't feel earned, the last volume felt like it was rushing to get to a conclusion。 In particular Mayumi's old "friend" seems to have been written as just pure evil, a controlling monster who only seemed to w Disclaimer: review contains minor spoilers as it is for the whole series。This was a nice series but ultimately too short (gah this is the second time I've had this problem with a Kodama Naoko manga)。 Probably needed like five volumes to flesh it out a bit more 。 The ending was sweet but it didn't feel earned, the last volume felt like it was rushing to get to a conclusion。 In particular Mayumi's old "friend" seems to have been written as just pure evil, a controlling monster who only seemed to want to ruin Mayumi's life, and was only there to inject some drama into the final volume。 She could have been given some better characterisation but there was clearly just not enough time。Perhaps the mangaka was working with a fixed chapter limit or something and this would have indeed been better if she had the choice。 Still, I love stories of found family (especially ones with queer characters), so I still found the series very enjoyable。 If only we'd had more time to get to know the characters; what we got was really nice but left me wanting more。 3。5*, I'll round that up on the actual rating。 。。。more

This series has so much potential, I love the characters and it seems like the overall storyline is going to be interesting。 This was a good introductory volume and I look forward to the next volume。

If this is longer and explored the complicated stuff I would have given it a 4 star but it seemed rushed in the end (although it's a happy one, even for that one particular person who didn't deserve it)。 There are lots of things (issues) that needed to be discussed or straightened out。 And I wonder why Mayumi didn't tell her whole shebang to Rin since there's a lot to unpack there。3 stars for the Citrus side story。 If this is longer and explored the complicated stuff I would have given it a 4 star but it seemed rushed in the end (although it's a happy one, even for that one particular person who didn't deserve it)。 There are lots of things (issues) that needed to be discussed or straightened out。 And I wonder why Mayumi didn't tell her whole shebang to Rin since there's a lot to unpack there。3 stars for the Citrus side story。 。。。more

Rating: 4。6This whole book was just so adorable and intriguing。 I’m so glad I picked it up at random from the bookstore。 I simply cannot wait to see what happens next, especially because that last part left me speechless。 Everyone grew on me so quickly and the illustrations are just chef kiss。 Maybe the story and plot seem obnoxious in some bits, but in the end, the story is just a fluffy blanket wrapped around you。Writing style ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Characters ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Plot development ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Originality ⭐ Rating: 4。6This whole book was just so adorable and intriguing。 I’m so glad I picked it up at random from the bookstore。 I simply cannot wait to see what happens next, especially because that last part left me speechless。 Everyone grew on me so quickly and the illustrations are just chef kiss。 Maybe the story and plot seem obnoxious in some bits, but in the end, the story is just a fluffy blanket wrapped around you。Writing style ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Characters ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Plot development ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Originality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Engagingness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌈this is just my opinion please respect it🌈 。。。more

When Mayumi's two-timing fiance decides to marry the other woman, she gets as far from Tokyo as she can, taking a teaching position at a little country school。 In the little seaside village, she encounters Rin, a boisterous young woman who's raising her sister's child while trying to keep the family business running。 It's nice to see the two of them finding comfort in each other's company, but oooh, there's drama afoot。 When Mayumi's two-timing fiance decides to marry the other woman, she gets as far from Tokyo as she can, taking a teaching position at a little country school。 In the little seaside village, she encounters Rin, a boisterous young woman who's raising her sister's child while trying to keep the family business running。 It's nice to see the two of them finding comfort in each other's company, but oooh, there's drama afoot。 。。。more

Check out this cover! It's so sweet, right? BAM: A few pages in and there is an alarmingly gratuitous amount of nudity。 Thankfully, after these first few pages, it switches gears and becomes more story-focused than bosom-focused (although there are a lot of reference to boobs) - but there are a few more fan-service scenes throughout。I suppose this is what I get for just trying random #1s without knowing anything about them。 Check out this cover! Mayumi decides to move to the countryside on a whim after she finds out that her boyfriend cheated on her and got her best friend pregnant。 When she arrives she meets a lot of interesting characters and many of her assumptions/biases of country life are slowly being corrected。 Mayumi meets Rin, her landlord, and assumes she's a delinquent based on her appearance but after spending time with her, she realizes that she's actually a kinder person than she initially assumed。 By far the best Yuri I'v Mayumi decides to move to the countryside on a whim after she finds out that her boyfriend cheated on her and got her best friend pregnant。 When she arrives she meets a lot of interesting characters and many of her assumptions/biases of country life are slowly being corrected。 Mayumi meets Rin, her landlord, and assumes she's a delinquent based on her appearance but after spending time with her, she realizes that she's actually a kinder person than she initially assumed。 By far the best Yuri I've read so far (mainly because I can relate to them more since I am not a teenager anymore and most Yuri is about teenagers)。 I love the characters。 The only thing I don't particularly enjoy is the self deprecating language the main protagonist, Mayumi, uses。 Though I've noticed that, that seems to be common in Yuri manga。 (If anyone has any recommendations where this isn't the case, please share。 I'd really appreciate it)Another thing that didn't really vibe with me was the decision to make her best friend the antagonist。 I hate it when books make women out as the antagonist but then don't explain their behavior or show things from that woman's point of view。 Not all women are innately catty or passive aggressive。 You can't vilify a woman without giving them at least some depth because it just end up making the story misogynistic。 To be fair this is only the first volume。 I want to believe that we'll get more depth in the following volumes (I believe there are 3 in total) I will update my review after reading all 3 volumes 。。。more

ugh。 maybe I've been reading too much really, really good yuri lately or something, but this manga fell super flat for me。 there's an excessive amount of unnecessary nudity and a big fascination with boobs that got old real fast。 at one point the child character latches onto a woman she barely knows and starts sucking on her breast??? there was no purpose to this scene, it was just another chance to focus on boobs。the story is rushed, there's a kiss that feels very forced and it's unclear why ei ugh。 maybe I've been reading too much really, really good yuri lately or something, but this manga fell super flat for me。 there's an excessive amount of unnecessary nudity and a big fascination with boobs that got old real fast。 at one point the child character latches onto a woman she barely knows and starts sucking on her breast??? there was no purpose to this scene, it was just another chance to focus on boobs。the story is rushed, there's a kiss that feels very forced and it's unclear why either of these women feel the way they do about each other。 there's no deeper commentary or exploration of being an unmarried working woman in a patriarchal society, or a woman who loves women, or really any kind of deep discussions at all。 that may seem an unfair critique for a first volume of a manga, but when yuri like Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon and How Do We Relationship? are being made, there's really no excuse。I also feel like there was waaaaay too many plots shoved in here。 we've got the main character and her moving to a new town, the love interest and her grief, a teenage girl being bullied because she's a "bastard child", an ex-best friend forcing herself back into the picture and half-sisters that may or may not be romantically interested in each other and apparently like to kiss when no one is looking。 incest aside, it's just too much going on which leads to flattening of characters to fit everything in。I don't think I'll be continuing in this series。 there's just too much superior yuri out there now to cling to a series that's only saving grace is that it's gay。 。。。more
