Five-star fabulous! What a powerful infusion of support, reassurance, and can-do confidence for readers of all ages, especially those who get caught up in the brambles and thickets of “thinky thoughts”! The whimsical illustrations add multiple dimensions to the story, drawing on characters and settings from many well-known fairytales in creative and imaginative ways。 Bravo!

A little too bland/vague for me, but not bad。

Nancy Tillman continues her gorgeous mixed-media illustrations in a new book that celebrates life’s accomplishments big and small, I Knew You Could Do It。 No matter what goal you set out to achieve, this book knows the gumption of staring down the dragon, or being the star of your own fairytale。 If someone needs that added reassurance, strength or applause, this book has it all, because, in the end, you knew they could do it!For more reviews and body paints of book covers please visit my instagr Nancy Tillman continues her gorgeous mixed-media illustrations in a new book that celebrates life’s accomplishments big and small, I Knew You Could Do It。 No matter what goal you set out to achieve, this book knows the gumption of staring down the dragon, or being the star of your own fairytale。 If someone needs that added reassurance, strength or applause, this book has it all, because, in the end, you knew they could do it!For more reviews and body paints of book covers please visit my instagram page: https://www。instagram。com/amy_forthel。。。 。。。more

After reading, I Knew You Could Do It! by Nancy Tillman I felt true joy。 The book conveys a beautiful message that someone believed the child the entire time they were completing a diffcult task。 The story goes beyond that message by acknowledging the challenges that could have been faced and the persistence endured。 The book places significance on the fact the child should be proud of themselves for completing a task by calling them the “star of their own fairytale” and in the line “You should After reading, I Knew You Could Do It! by Nancy Tillman I felt true joy。 The book conveys a beautiful message that someone believed the child the entire time they were completing a diffcult task。 The story goes beyond that message by acknowledging the challenges that could have been faced and the persistence endured。 The book places significance on the fact the child should be proud of themselves for completing a task by calling them the “star of their own fairytale” and in the line “You should be awfully, awesomely proud”。 I believe this is such an important message to articulate to children so to raise their self-esteem and put worth in their talents。 The book continues by reminding children they have many more battles to win and although it will be diffcult, they have the strength to complete them。 Furthermore, along all those battles once the child completes them, the book reminds the children the reader will be there saying, “I knew you could do it!” in the end。 In addition to the message, I love the illustrations of the book。 Nancy illustrated the book through colorful digital images。 The pictures related to the message on the page next to it, which helps the children follow along。 Overall, the images enrapture the reader because they are different on every page, very fantastical, and poetic。 For example, one image has a child riding a loin, which conveys a metaphorical message of bravery。 Often the background within the images are faded to place emphasis on the focus of the message the text and image create combined together。 I appreciate the rhyming within the book as well because it creates a flow。 This promotes the calming and reassuring tone of the story。 It should be noted that this story is meant for an adult, such as a parent or teacher, to read to a child。 Overall, I believe the message of this story is crucial to articulate for children to understand the significance of their effort。 I believe it can be a great story to teach a moral to a classroom of students or for a parent to read to a child at bedtime。 。。。more

If you know Nancy Tillman's work, it's more of the same。 That means a positive, uplifting message for kids - in this case, obvious from the title - and colorful artwork。Some people will get every book for the kids in their life, and others will find it maybe too sweet。 Certainly worth checking her out to see which camp you belong in。 (I'm personally not that sweet, but I appreciate positive messages for kids。) If you know Nancy Tillman's work, it's more of the same。 That means a positive, uplifting message for kids - in this case, obvious from the title - and colorful artwork。Some people will get every book for the kids in their life, and others will find it maybe too sweet。 Certainly worth checking her out to see which camp you belong in。 (I'm personally not that sweet, but I appreciate positive messages for kids。) 。。。more

I give this five stars as this book let's you know you are the holder of your destiny。 Yes, things will not always go your way but how you react to them and what you do after shows your courage。 Although not a real fan of the illustrations, this book should be shared with not only young children but those graduating high school and moving on!! In the style of Tillman。 Some interesting interpretations of folktales in the art。

I love the illustrations。

I love this illustrations in this book。 They are fabulous。 The story assumes that the child will come out on top, but also promises (and encourages through) difficulty。
