Focus, Simply focus。 Be a worker in the morning, and a manager afternoon。

Henry Suryawirawan

The message sounds quite simple but surprisingly very powerful。 The one thing is about finding the most important thing that serves as the first domino。 The Focusing Question is a very powerful sentence that helps to frame your mind to answer your big and small things。 The book advocates us to live life with purpose, priority, and productivity, and to live our life to avoid regrets。 I really enjoyed reading this book and I consider it as a must-read。

Good approach to helping you focus on your core values and goals。 Highlighting the need for steady focus on your priority activity every day to make real progress。 Framework and tools not always fully fleshed out but a good set to get you started and to build on yourself。 Some free tools and blog posts on the website but also a strong push for courses, merchandise etc。

Top 5 ever!

SWE-D Book Club March 2021This is not a leadership book worth reading, there are plenty of better options available。 It did not present any new ideas and it recycled many over-used anecdotes。 The author, who is cofounder of the Keller Williams real estate company, claims that KW hit it big because the author’s “one thing” was to write a best-selling book。。。um, wrong, sorry dude, I wouldn’t use a RE firm just because someone wrote a book。 The author’s arrogant thesis that everybody should crave s SWE-D Book Club March 2021This is not a leadership book worth reading, there are plenty of better options available。 It did not present any new ideas and it recycled many over-used anecdotes。 The author, who is cofounder of the Keller Williams real estate company, claims that KW hit it big because the author’s “one thing” was to write a best-selling book。。。um, wrong, sorry dude, I wouldn’t use a RE firm just because someone wrote a book。 The author’s arrogant thesis that everybody should crave success and must make a huge impact in the world is ridiculous。 Everyone’s definition of success / happiness / achievement is different, and it is up to them to figure that out。。。it could be combating alcoholism or leaving an abusive spouse, it is not just about making more money。 。。。more

Really good with pragmatical tips on how to ruthlessly prioritise a busy routine while focusing on what matters the most。

。。。more

Tatiana Parsons

Interesting read ! Brings light on misconceptions and false beliefs we grow with about the productivity and journey to success。 Power of our habits, nature of the willpower, myths about balance。。 Loved the idea about inevitable chaos in some spheres of our life as a counterbalance 😄

Brilliant concepts simply laid out。 Felt like it was the perfect condesment of many other self help books and just enough examples to keep it interesting。 Definitely want this in print for the graphs。 Love the idea of focus and clarity to achieve more。

Great book, really got me to thinking what I want in life and what it is that's holding me back。 Though the author goes through half the book to let you know what he said in the first page, it did went into great detail on how to manage your time, your priorities and your energy。 Great book, really got me to thinking what I want in life and what it is that's holding me back。 Though the author goes through half the book to let you know what he said in the first page, it did went into great detail on how to manage your time, your priorities and your energy。 。。。more

A very insightful book that ties direction and purpose to just one thing。 The tough part, the really tough part, is determining the one thing and living it through to see results

This book presents a compelling argument to narrow focus so that we may identify the one thing we need to pursue in various areas of our lives so that we can be more purposeful and productive in our lives。。 This belongs is along the same lines as books on minimalism and essentialism。 I gave it 4 stars insted of 5 because the actual content of the book can be expressed in less than 5 pages so the additional 200+ pages (I felt) were just fluff。 Definately worth a read。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Simplify your problem/question and focus on that one thing that will help you move ahead, aka, find that one thread that will unravel the ball and pull in it。 And you need to have discipline。There。。。 You have the gist of the book。 I thought this was going to be a different book, but it turns out that it's just another self-help book telling you to have discipline, focus and to forget all other self-help tips you've heard of it followed (with its reasons)。It would be a 2 star book, but it's only Simplify your problem/question and focus on that one thing that will help you move ahead, aka, find that one thread that will unravel the ball and pull in it。 And you need to have discipline。There。。。 You have the gist of the book。 I thought this was going to be a different book, but it turns out that it's just another self-help book telling you to have discipline, focus and to forget all other self-help tips you've heard of it followed (with its reasons)。It would be a 2 star book, but it's only because of the message (first paragraph) it's got an extra star。 。。。more

Reading this book I've come to the realisation that all this time I've been living my life this way。 The chapters about focus and time blocking truly are eye-opening。 Overall this was an easy read, a self-help book that everyone could understand。-"The things which are most important don't always scream the loudest。""Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls。 The balls are called work, family, health, friends and integrity。 And you're keeping all of them in the air。 But one day Reading this book I've come to the realisation that all this time I've been living my life this way。 The chapters about focus and time blocking truly are eye-opening。 Overall this was an easy read, a self-help book that everyone could understand。-"The things which are most important don't always scream the loudest。""Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls。 The balls are called work, family, health, friends and integrity。 And you're keeping all of them in the air。 But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball。 If you drop it, it will bounce back。 The other four balls - family, health, friends, integrity - are made of glass。 If you drop one od these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered。""The secret of getting ahead is getting started。""I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody。""When you argue for your limitations, you get to keep them。""When you lift the limits of your thinking, you expand the limits of your life。" 。。。more

I have been experimenting with this idea for sometime now。 I am not sure I have implemented it well enough to know if it works。
