Summary

A tall, quiet gamer boy and a geeky girl whose life revolves around yaoi manga are old friends, but when they start working in the same office, they decide to date。 It's a relationship of convenience at first, but could it become something more? This manga comedy is now a hit streaming anime!

Extra-long book includes 2 Japanese volumes!

Narumi and Hirotaka are, by all appearances, a power couple。 They're young, good-looking professionals。 But they have secrets from everyone but each other: They're serious geeks! Narumi is a fujoshi, and Hirotaka's a hardcore gamer。 Their sweet, awkward love story started life as a webcomic before becoming a full-blown manga series by popular demand, and is about to become a major anime series!

Wotakoi 3A great series, but Volume 3 is very exceptionally Great! Full of laughs and pathos! Plenty of humorous situations involving Otaku Culture, friendships, and romantic relationships! The character growth is exceptional good。 Feel like I know the characters personally and would enjoy their company! Highly recommend this volume!

The romance between the leads is cute and quirky but it is such a slow burn that the Madrigals family house would've crumbled if it depended on it。 I thought by the 3rd volume their relationship would've developed a bit more in terms of intimacy and closeness。 They're still so timid around each other and pretty sure they have been dating for a couple of months now。 I get that is one of the reasons people enjoy the main couple but you can still have the slow burn with progression in the deepness The romance between the leads is cute and quirky but it is such a slow burn that the Madrigals family house would've crumbled if it depended on it。 I thought by the 3rd volume their relationship would've developed a bit more in terms of intimacy and closeness。 They're still so timid around each other and pretty sure they have been dating for a couple of months now。 I get that is one of the reasons people enjoy the main couple but you can still have the slow burn with progression in the deepness of their relationship。 I'm just waiting for a little hurdle or something, some angst really。 Right now they're just in a stagnant place for me。 This is not me hating on them because they are a cute couple and we did get sweet scenes with them, like the scene of them behind the bush hiding from that insistent guy, but I would just like a bit more。 As for Nao's blooming relationship with Ko, they're also very cute and timid, and to be honest I'm shipping them a little bit more than the main couple right now because I'm excited to see how they start their relationship and seeing Ko feel more comfortable around Nao。 That being said though, there was only one or two scenes focusing on them this entire volume which surprised me because I thought we would've gotten more considering they're the couple in the cover。 Hopefully in the next volume their relationship blossoms and we can have scenes where they're alone and not accompanied by other characters。 As for the loves of my life, my ride or die, part of the reason I'm continuing to read this manga, my dear Kabakura and Hana, I still love them will all my heart and will defend my stance until my death bed that they are the best couple in this manga as of now。 Relatively sad that we didn't get more scenes with them being the focus this time around, but I get that each volume will prioritize focus on a specific side couple。 And I cant ask for much lol considering they're the second lead basically。 And the scenes that we did get I enjoyed so I'm satisfied。 Volume 2 has been the best so far giving me that best moments of them together。 They have that engaging banter, sweetness and intimacy that you just come to appreciate when they're alone and that I would like to see from the other couples as well。 I know people always say they argue too much but most of their arguments are just dumb stuff, and also, their banter is their love language but when they're alone you can see that they have a deeper connection than the leads do at this point。 Also, they have been dating for years now and still making it work? I'm just waiting for the wedding right now lol。 The only ones I have faith right now in maybe in the near future becoming my faves would be Naoya and Ko。 When it comes to the overall volume though, it was entertaining to read with fun, sweet and cute moments。 I like that we saw more people from their work place and their suspicion as to what their relationship status was because it created more interaction with other characters in their lives。 I loved the progression in Narumis and Hanas friendship and it is so appreciated since both have little if no female friends, so I was glad they gave us a lot of moments between them。 This has technically been the first romance manga that I've seriously read because before I only used to read shounen manga like AOT online but I think that as a beginner romance manga to read its pretty good。 I feel like I enjoyed the 1st and 2nd volume more compared to this one which is why I'm giving it 3 stars but it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it or dislike it。 I'm excited to read the next volume。 In conclusion, I stan Kabakura and Hanako, adios。 。。。more

Fujita has so many references and it’s honestly difficult to keep up with so much reading for manga standards (but it’s fun all the same)。 Seeing the girls bond during Comiket is so sweet, it makes me want to find some friends and drag them to an anime expo (not happening soon, for reasons)。

We're now getting past the storylines that the anime covered - I wonder why it didn't get renewed for a second season? - and while not a lot of real progress is being made on any of the relationship fronts, it's still just as enjoyable to read as ever。 There are some really sweet moments for Koyanagi and Kabakura this time around, with a constantly increasing sense of why they fit so well together。 As readers (and their friends) get to know them better, the bickering takes on that affectionate, We're now getting past the storylines that the anime covered - I wonder why it didn't get renewed for a second season? - and while not a lot of real progress is being made on any of the relationship fronts, it's still just as enjoyable to read as ever。 There are some really sweet moments for Koyanagi and Kabakura this time around, with a constantly increasing sense of why they fit so well together。 As readers (and their friends) get to know them better, the bickering takes on that affectionate, intimate feel that's harder to understand when you're a stranger to their dynamic。 It's also nice to see a little bit more of Kabakura's struggles at work - he's solidly rising up the management ranks because he's a hard worker who has a lot of trouble saying no to additional responsibilities, which makes him valued at work but also worn pretty thin - something you wouldn't expect from his tough exterior。There's also more about Koyanagi and Narumi's friendship, although honestly I wasn't as interested in a lot of their storyline, because cosplay is the one thing I've never been particularly into。 There were some cute and funny moments, and it's fun to see them building such a strong, honest friendship, but Koyanagi continues to be the character I relate to the least, really。Now that Naoya has finally discovered that his new gamer friend Ko isn't a guy, he has to deal with。。。very little change in their relationship, actually, which I liked。 He's such a sweetheart, and he went out of his way to apologize to her for making her cry when he would never, ever want to make that happen。 He insistently picks their friendship back up and starts folding Ko into the rest of his life, too - not just his college friends but with his older brother and that whole friend group。 It's really sweet and I wonder how long it's going to take for this to shade into the romantic, because Ko's too anxious and Naoya's too innocent, so it might be even more difficult than his big brother's childhood friends-to-kinda-lovers deal。I love the game-playing interludes; I'm not a huge gamer myself and am probably a lot more in the Naoya camp (enthusiastic to spend time with friends but really bad at strategy and action games), but I've played enough with friends to recognize the settings and the game lobbies, etc。 It's so fun to see their personalities come across in their characters, and to watch Hirotaka starting to kinda bond with his little brother's (girl)friend。 The second longer-running storyline in this volume, with the company trip to the hot springs, was great on a number of fronts (although that kind of trip sounds like an actual nightmare to me)。 Narumi takes an active step back and actually succeeds at getting Hirotaka to bond with some of his other male coworkers。 (I loved the running gag of him having no ability or inclination to remember their names, and the two of them stubbornly hanging out with him anyway)。 There's a little bit of sweetness between Hirotaka and Narumi, too, with their coworkers gradually starting to realize that they're interested in each other, although the fact that they're dating is still a secret。 I wonder how long it's going to take before the two of them really sort out their relationship and take things further, because it seems like Narumi's falling in actual romantic love, too, and they may finally be on the same page。 I'm not in a hurry, though; I'm enjoying the story as it's being told, and all the different dynamics in this friend group。 Kodansha Comics is also really, really good with the end notes; they have a way of translating and clearly explaining all the otaku terms and memes so it feels like English-language readers are still solidly included。 Between this and Princess Jellyfish 2-in-1 Omnibus, Volume 1, I think they may be the best manga translation publisher out there right now。。。I should look through some of their other titles。 。。。more

This book is a part of a series and each book contains the progression of four friends and more。 It includes comedy, wholesome moments, and just shows how these characters interact on a daily basis。 The third book (which is the one I read) contains a lot of funny and witty interactions which some readers may find relateable or enjoy reading。 I would recommend this book if you like progression and reading books that include how people go about in friendships and office relationships。 I suggest st This book is a part of a series and each book contains the progression of four friends and more。 It includes comedy, wholesome moments, and just shows how these characters interact on a daily basis。 The third book (which is the one I read) contains a lot of funny and witty interactions which some readers may find relateable or enjoy reading。 I would recommend this book if you like progression and reading books that include how people go about in friendships and office relationships。 I suggest starting on the first book so you can get a general idea about this specific series。 。。。more

By far this might have been my favourite volume from the Wotakoi series! It was so nice watching Narumi and Hirotaka’s relationship develop。 Also, I have to say that we were blessed with so many beautiful panels of Hirotaka (I’m referring to the sauna scene👀👀👀)。 Can’t wait to continue reading this series :)
