OMG！ What a ride！Phenomenal！ From the first page， till those two little words， "The End"， this was a great read！First， Lennon was not the perfect lead female character。 She was overweight。 She had no friends。 She was bullied by her peers。 But she was smart。 Talented。 And in love！Phoenix。 Abused。 Troubled。 But with a heart of gold。These two were destined to be together！This book was angsty and sometimes pretty funny。 What a roller-coaster of an emotional ride this was。This was one of those books OMG！ What a ride！Phenomenal！ From the first page， till those two little words， "The End"， this was a great read！First， Lennon was not the perfect lead female character。 She was overweight。 She had no friends。 She was bullied by her peers。 But she was smart。 Talented。 And in love！Phoenix。 Abused。 Troubled。 But with a heart of gold。These two were destined to be together！This book was angsty and sometimes pretty funny。 What a roller-coaster of an emotional ride this was。This was one of those books where you cheered for every single character。 Because they all had their own story to tell and without them， Phoenix and Lennon wouldn't have made any sense。Loved it！！ 。。。more

beautiful storyI had to take a moment to collect my thoughts in order to review this book。I had a hard time putting this one down， it nearly consumed me because I was so engrossed in it。I really loved the way this book started out。 I felt so much for Lennon that my heart physically ached for her。 I felt everything she was feeling。 I was so mad at Phoenix that I didn’t know how he was ever going to redeem himself。But this story is very much about Phoenix redemption and I loved every second of it。 beautiful storyI had to take a moment to collect my thoughts in order to review this book。I had a hard time putting this one down， it nearly consumed me because I was so engrossed in it。I really loved the way this book started out。 I felt so much for Lennon that my heart physically ached for her。 I felt everything she was feeling。 I was so mad at Phoenix that I didn’t know how he was ever going to redeem himself。But this story is very much about Phoenix redemption and I loved every second of it。There was a switch near the end that made me so mad at Lennon and I loved Phoenix even more。 Lennon’s choices were so hard for me to understand。 I understood where she was coming from but at the same time wanted to shake her and tell her to wake up！ Look at what you are doing and your actions。80% on to the end of the book was where I struggled with the story。 I was just so frustrated with Lennon that I found myself putting the book down more and more。I’m glad I finished the book out though。 I really enjoyed the ride that this book was。I will say that as much as I want Memphis’ book， I really want Storms book more。 As far as side characters go， he was my favorite。 I’m very intrigued with his character and story。I look forward to reading whatever comes next by Ashley Jade。 。。。more

AddictedThere are some books that draw you in from the very 1st chapter， and this is one of those books！ I could not put this book down， nor could I go to bed without finishing it。 The emotions between these two are raw and carnal。 I felt every single thing that happened， with my gut clenched and heart hurting through most of the book。 I regret keeping this on my TBR for so long because it checked every box I needed。

w。o。w。this is the longest book i’ve read in years。 i became obsessed with the story line。 loved the plus size representation and how relatable Lennon felt。 this book is SPICY。 🌶🌶🌶🌶 it doesn’t hold back in that department。 so many other insane storylines happened too。 but wow。 hooked from the prologue to the end。 700 pages in 3 days。 yeah， new fave book。

I discovered Ashley Jade through one of my FB book clubs and this was the first novel of hers that I have read。 （I look forward to reading more）The Words （for mature audiences only） starts out in a high school setting。 Lennon is a “bigger” girl who is bullied because of her weight。 She is incredibly smart but is lacking in the friends department。 Phoenix is gorgeous and also a bit of a loner。 He struggles in school and that is how he and Lennon become known to each other。 Phoenix is struggling i I discovered Ashley Jade through one of my FB book clubs and this was the first novel of hers that I have read。 （I look forward to reading more）The Words （for mature audiences only） starts out in a high school setting。 Lennon is a “bigger” girl who is bullied because of her weight。 She is incredibly smart but is lacking in the friends department。 Phoenix is gorgeous and also a bit of a loner。 He struggles in school and that is how he and Lennon become known to each other。 Phoenix is struggling in English and just weeks before graduation Lennon is asked by a teacher to tutor him so he can pass and graduate on time。 They discover friendship through music。 He is in a two man band with his best friend and they perform amazing cover songs of famous rock bands but are lacking in original content。 When feelings start to develop between the two things come abruptly to a halt and Lennon is left heartbroken。Jumping ahead to four years later， Phoenix is again in need of help。 He and his friend actually made it big but being a rockstar is taking its toll on Phoenix。 Drugs， women， crazy antics…you know the drill。 Lennon is doing well but also struggling to keep what little family she has left together in one piece。 When Phoenix is in need of a sober nanny Lennon is approached with the opportunity。 The band manager makes her a financial proposal that she just can’t turn down and she is looking for a little revenge herself。 This book is full of the angsty drama that seems to highlight a lot of teenage / early 20’s relationships。 The push and pull of the love/hate relationship， the ups and downs of jealousy and drama， and the uncertainty of what will set the other one off next。 It is an emotional rollercoaster with lots of lusty and steamy drama。 You equally love and hate Phoenix and scream at Lennon to just get out of this chaotic relationship。 But the chemistry is undeniable and fantastic。#bookstagram@chi_book_lover 。。。more

Ashley Jade took me on one hell of a roller-coaster ride ❤️💔Phoenix and Lennon were so intense， I'm pretty sure I was breathless a few times throughout their journey。 Their pure magnetism jumped off the pages， I felt their connection。 The love， passion and fire between them was off the charts。 But， there were times I wanted to strangle them both。A lot happened in this book。 The back and forth between Phoenix and Lennon was exhausting at times。 I understood the reasons "why，" but it played like a Ashley Jade took me on one hell of a roller-coaster ride ❤️💔Phoenix and Lennon were so intense， I'm pretty sure I was breathless a few times throughout their journey。 Their pure magnetism jumped off the pages， I felt their connection。 The love， passion and fire between them was off the charts。 But， there were times I wanted to strangle them both。A lot happened in this book。 The back and forth between Phoenix and Lennon was exhausting at times。 I understood the reasons "why，" but it played like a broken record at some point。 There were situations and parts I loved， but things I really didn't。I enjoyed the supporting characters and given the rock star theme， it's no surprise we'll be getting more shenanigans from this crazy band。 Overall I'm happy I spent time with them， but didn't love it as much as I hoped I would。 。。。more

Unbelievable Storyline with Painfully Disgusting Lead Male Character The lead male character was so off putting that I continually considered not finishing the book。 I understand the need for a “bad boy” lead， but this guy bordered on abusive as he navigated his relationships。 There’s a difference between “sexy， fun bad boy” and “crude， rude， self-centered bad boy。” The plot was another issue。 The storyline took absolutely， unbelievable twists and turns。 The premise of the book was good， but the Unbelievable Storyline with Painfully Disgusting Lead Male Character The lead male character was so off putting that I continually considered not finishing the book。 I understand the need for a “bad boy” lead， but this guy bordered on abusive as he navigated his relationships。 There’s a difference between “sexy， fun bad boy” and “crude， rude， self-centered bad boy。” The plot was another issue。 The storyline took absolutely， unbelievable twists and turns。 The premise of the book was good， but the execution of characters and plot development was extremely disappointing。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 3。5 ⭐️ I was all over the place w/ this book so I’ll break it down: The Good: - The characters。 I loved most of them 。 The H & h especially。 Miss Jade’s writing highlighted main & secondary characters personalities & stories so well that I felt it I knew them。 I was never confused & followed them well。 Ashley Jade is very strong with that in all her stories…。 It’s good writing。 - Early Phoenix & Lennon。 I wouldn’t change a thing with that part of the story。 It set an excellent stage of what’s t 3。5 ⭐️ I was all over the place w/ this book so I’ll break it down: The Good: - The characters。 I loved most of them 。 The H & h especially。 Miss Jade’s writing highlighted main & secondary characters personalities & stories so well that I felt it I knew them。 I was never confused & followed them well。 Ashley Jade is very strong with that in all her stories…。 It’s good writing。 - Early Phoenix & Lennon。 I wouldn’t change a thing with that part of the story。 It set an excellent stage of what’s to come。 I loved how their relationship developed。 It was very age appropriate esp given their circumstances。 It’s exactly how I feel that the high school seniors should’ve been in those situations。 A lot of authors are challenged in that area。 - Parts to point out that I liked: relationship w/Skylar， Quinn， bond between Phoenix & Storm， accurate depiction of what it’s like to be a sexy curvy girl with more insecurities than u can count， Phoenix adoration of Lennon & their chemistry， the sex but… I’ll get to that。 - Quinn。 I love her character。 I love that she was added & the relationship w/ her brother。 It was an added touch that built his character。 Lennon & Quinn ground him。 - Phoenix stopping his party & selfish ways。 He is fully dedicated to Lennon & I felt that。 The not so good: - First & foremost… the initial sexual encounter （bus） after Phoenix & Lennon reconnect。 Ugghhh it couldn’t have been any more anti-climatic。 I get it - both of their pent up frustration broke through & that might be what Miss Jade was trying to convey but that was still a let down。 Lennon deserved it to be perfect given what she went through （virginity loss， the big steal， & giving up herself to the tour）。 - the trailer fire 🔥 … wtf？ I personally didn’t think it was necessary as it was never mentioned again。 - The big steal I mentioned before。 Stealing her lyrics for his own personal gain & lying about it。 We get it 。。 he f’d up but as smart as Lennon is， at some point she would’ve understood there was nothing he could do about it。 He waited waaaay too long to apologize & it only dragged out the story longer。 If that would’ve been done， I think that the end of the story could’ve been better。 At the end of the book， it was at the point where it had to stop bc it was too many pages。 It felt too rushed & unresolved。 Sure it was a HEA/HFN but didn’t feel final。 - The big mystery & tiptoe around Skylar in regard to both Memphis & Chandler。 Setting the stage for their book … which is both good & bad。 Good bc I want to read it。 Bad bc it was frustrating bc it was brought ip so much I found myself saying “Just someone blurt it out！！” - the proposal。 I liked the story。 It’s not my favorite by this author as I do like a lot of her work but I wasn’t as enthralled by it。 She put a lot of passion into this story I can tell so I hate typing that。 I would still highly recommend it as the writing is excellent。 Which is the reason I indicated 4 stars。 。。。more
