This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I started reading this series maybe 5 years ago after I watched the movie。 And yes you normaly shouldn’t watch the movies inspired by the books but to late。 Anyway I really enjoyed the first three books。 They were so much better than the movie and had a lot more details (yes I know every book has more details than the film)。 After I finished the first three books I started the fourth。 And gosh I was so disappointed。 I really did not like it。 Yes I know Emma and the rest needed to learn how to in I started reading this series maybe 5 years ago after I watched the movie。 And yes you normaly shouldn’t watch the movies inspired by the books but to late。 Anyway I really enjoyed the first three books。 They were so much better than the movie and had a lot more details (yes I know every book has more details than the film)。 After I finished the first three books I started the fourth。 And gosh I was so disappointed。 I really did not like it。 Yes I know Emma and the rest needed to learn how to interact with the modern world but it was just weird。 And then finding Abe’s bunker。 No it just didn’t feel right。 Jake was finally over trying to be like his grandpa and then he convulsively tries AGAIN to be like Abe。 Just didn’t feel right to me。 I really enjoyed reading about Lily and Millard but that just ended in a dead end。 Noor and Jakes relationship was kind of weird。 He saw her。 Thought she was beautiful or what ever。 And was in love with her。 Yes boys (especially young one) fall easily love but COME ON。 Then the fifth book was published and I was super exited。 Read it super fast。 But mhm。 I think it was better than the fourth but I can’t really tell why。Now I just read the sixth book and yeah no。 I have to say I read them in German so not the original。 There are sooo many grammar and spelling mistakes I can’t even enjoy the books。 And it isn’t just the last book。 All of the German books have f***ing grammar mistakes。 I have to say I’m a little bit of a perfectionist so I now have a pencil next to my book and always correct things。 But that’s not what I want to do! I don’t want to sit here reading and doing the job of an other person。 And let me not get started on the story mistakes。 I remember clearly Addison was there in book three when the library of souls crashed。 But now in book six Emma and co。 have to explain to him what happened。 What?! And my favourite mistake is a scene where Emma and Bronwyn clearly leave with some Ymbrynes and like two lines later Emma is saying something that sounded like Enoch would say it。 Also Betham is Burnham and so much more mistakes。 Sorry but the editor(s) did a terrible job there。 All in all I would say the story wasn’t bad。 But also not good。 Jake being a hollow for three to five pages was a twist and I really liked that he again had control over a lot of hollows (there was a numbers mistake, but okay)。 The last 3 to 5 were really good。 Then getting back to Crainholm was sooo good。 But there is one question still open for me。 If they go back into the loop won’t there be at one point the same problem as before?? Wont they depend again on the loop after some time?? I would like to rate different aspects of the story。 Cause the story all in all was kinda good。 But there where just some things that bothered ne extremely。 So I’m thinking about changing the rating to four stars。 Cause I rated the fourth book with three stars (for me it was the weakest)。 。。。more

I feel like it kind dragged on, but very action packed。

I loved this ending。 Unlike other books, I don't feel like this was a cliffhanger。 I wouldn't mind another, but if this was the last of the series, it was an excellent way to finish the books off。 I loved this ending。 Unlike other books, I don't feel like this was a cliffhanger。 I wouldn't mind another, but if this was the last of the series, it was an excellent way to finish the books off。 。。。more

Rating: 4/5 starsIt's over :'( I grew up enjoying the peculiars' stories and it's finally time to put this series to rest。This was certainly action-packed it didn't leave any room for me to breathe。 But I'm not complaining。 I breezed through this 503-page giant just under 3 days and not even one chapter I found boring。 Much like the previous books in the series, there's plenty of running between time loops in this one - which I certainly didn't mind at all。Read this while listening to the Audibl Rating: 4/5 starsIt's over :'( I grew up enjoying the peculiars' stories and it's finally time to put this series to rest。This was certainly action-packed it didn't leave any room for me to breathe。 But I'm not complaining。 I breezed through this 503-page giant just under 3 days and not even one chapter I found boring。 Much like the previous books in the series, there's plenty of running between time loops in this one - which I certainly didn't mind at all。Read this while listening to the Audible and the narrator did a marvellous job in imitating the characters' voices。Thank you, Ransom Riggs。 Now let's see if I'm willing to resume back the wifey Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me series。 。。。more

This series has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, twists and turns。 This book by far has changed the way I think about the world。 I will never be able to go back to these pages and be surprised by what I read。 For those of you who are able to somehow able to forget these books, I'm begging you please read them again。 I have fallen deeply in love(platonically) with so many of these characters, I loved seeing their character development and growth。 From Jacobs's realization of the peculiar w This series has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, twists and turns。 This book by far has changed the way I think about the world。 I will never be able to go back to these pages and be surprised by what I read。 For those of you who are able to somehow able to forget these books, I'm begging you please read them again。 I have fallen deeply in love(platonically) with so many of these characters, I loved seeing their character development and growth。 From Jacobs's realization of the peculiar world to figuring out his family, powers, and new life and so many more。 I applaud Ransom for the adventures he has been able to take so many of us on and I hope you guys have enjoyed this series as much as I have! To my fellow peculiars who are looking for a group to fit in with, and just barely surviving。。。someone is always cheering you on, hoping you can keep on pushing, keep challenging yourself, and trying new things, there's someone out there perfect for you, romantically or platonically! “Sometimes it's better not to look back。” “I had just come to accept that my life would be ordinary when extraordinary things began to happen。”“。。what an unchallenging life it would be if we always got things right on the first go。”“To have endured horrors, to have seen the worst of humanity and have your life made unrecognizable by it, to come out of all that honorable and brave— that was magical。”“If you must fail," he said grandly, "fail spectacularly!” 。。。more

I had mixed feelings about this book。 In the end, I decided I enjoyed it, but not enough to put on my favourites shelf, like the first trilogy。 It was good, but it had some issues。I like Ransom Riggs writing style and the little one-liners and references Jacob and his friends make and I found myself chuckling at a few of them。 The storyline was entertaining, but I counted 7 small mistakes, several of which impact the story。 (Things like Horace talking when he is actually not in the room。) I also I had mixed feelings about this book。 In the end, I decided I enjoyed it, but not enough to put on my favourites shelf, like the first trilogy。 It was good, but it had some issues。I like Ransom Riggs writing style and the little one-liners and references Jacob and his friends make and I found myself chuckling at a few of them。 The storyline was entertaining, but I counted 7 small mistakes, several of which impact the story。 (Things like Horace talking when he is actually not in the room。) I also felt like Jacob was forced into scenes he didn't belong in。 Some things seemed a little out of place too, built and fixed unrealistically quickly, like [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] at the end of the story and Horace's woolen jumpers。The Desolations of Devil's Acre had me asking more questions about the Peculiar world than any other Miss Peregrine's book, and not in a good way; some of the new lore contradicts the old lore。 If open past exists past the boundaries of an ymbryne's loop, why don't some looped trapped peculiars live there? Is it just the thought of being loop-free is better and safer than actually being loop-free?I was ultimately reasonably satisfied with the book and happy with the ending and despite its new flaws, I love the world。 I almost rated this 3 stars, but ended up with four, due to my love for the story。 。。。more

I can across this thinking it was the 4th book in what I thought was a completed trilogy。 I think reading the books out of order was a bad idea, so I may revisit this one。 As always, Riggs is very creative, but I thought certain relationship felt forced。 Also, there were so many characters introduced it was a little hard to track。 I was satisfied with the ending, but would have gotten more out of this is I had read books 5 and 6。

A masterful ending to this unique series which ends in the same location it began - Florida。 Jacob and Noor test their peculiarities to their limits to overcome constant battles and save their fellow peculiars。 Close shaves and devastating losses but a really good conclusion。

In this final book of The Peculiar Children's series, a lot of chaos is going on。 I have to admit, the beginning of the book was incredibly slow but once you get to about the halfway point things picked up considerably。 Jacob and his gang have been through a lot and the final battles are going to be intense but they know that if they don't fight, they'll never find peace。 A great series with a solid ending。 Enjoyed it immensely In this final book of The Peculiar Children's series, a lot of chaos is going on。 I have to admit, the beginning of the book was incredibly slow but once you get to about the halfway point things picked up considerably。 Jacob and his gang have been through a lot and the final battles are going to be intense but they know that if they don't fight, they'll never find peace。 A great series with a solid ending。 Enjoyed it immensely 。。。more

This book is the perfect ending to the series。 I’ve seen people saying the series should’ve ended after the 3rd book but I couldn’t disagree more。 This novel completes the cycle that the first novel started。
