This book is like a really bad wreck that you know is terrible and horrible， but you have to keep looking。 It was one that I finished in a day， primarily because I had nothing better to do。When I read the summary， it sounded like a bad Wattpad book but it was published so I assumed it would be far from that。 That really was why I kept reading because it my mind there could be no way that a cringe-worthy Wattpad book would be published。 I was so wrong。To start， you have the POV of Olive as a 7 ye This book is like a really bad wreck that you know is terrible and horrible， but you have to keep looking。 It was one that I finished in a day， primarily because I had nothing better to do。When I read the summary， it sounded like a bad Wattpad book but it was published so I assumed it would be far from that。 That really was why I kept reading because it my mind there could be no way that a cringe-worthy Wattpad book would be published。 I was so wrong。To start， you have the POV of Olive as a 7 year old， but she uses large words and thinks like an adult。 The moment she sees Jason， she is head over heels in love with him。 This is when Jason coins the pet name， "little one"。 If I ever hear/read that pet name again， I will projectile vomit。 It gives me such icky vibes。 Then you experience when she is 13 and Jason is 17。 For whatever reason， he's kind of flirting with her。 As a 13 year old， I would have found it cool to have an older guy flirt with me。 As a 17 year old， I was not interested in 13 year olds， so I'm a little confused why he was even doing that， but whatever。The next portion of the book is fine， besides a few weird moments like when （view spoiler）[ she gets a hot smoothie （why was it specifically a smoothie and not a coffee？ Who drinks a hot smoothie） and Jason insists on her removing her shirt in the parking lot so he can look at her burns。 Like wtf was that even about？ Then he criticizes her bra？ That's a no from me dawg。 （hide spoiler）]The rest of the book goes downhill and is messy。 （view spoiler）[ I literally don't understand the point of him getting married and how that was supposed to help him out。 Lucy sucks as a friend for encouraging her to do it because Olive brought up the valid point that her hard will be broken when the divorce happens in a few years。 Then we don't even get to experience the wedding？ Isn't that the whole point of the book？ （hide spoiler）]What really upset me was the way Ella Raise chose to write their first sexual encounter。 I was extremely disturbed that she was （view spoiler）[ sexually assaulted by Jason （hide spoiler）] （trigger warning） and it is never talked about。 She never knows it happens and continues to think this gross man is the most incredible person in the world。 I think the author intended it to be romantic but it's not。 There is no way to frame it to make it romantic。 It is another example of why this book is terrible。I don't feel like putting more energy into this review because it's not worth it。 This book is just a published fangirl type book where the characters have 0 chemistry but you are to believe they have feelings for one another but it isn't discussed until literally the last chapter after pages and pages of pet names and smut。 。。。more
