Summary

Katie loves skating with the Wheelas and the fact that she’s officially a superhero sidekick。 But now that school’s starting, everything’s changing。 The Mousetress is getting blamed for things Katie knows she didn’t do。 Sidekick training is NOT as exciting as she’d hoped。 Katie’s best friend Beth is back in town and Beth’s new boyfriend is always hanging around (ugh!)。 Not to mention that all of Katie’s friends are mad at her。 Fixing this will be harder than any skateboarding trick。 But with the help of 217 slightly out of the ordinary cats, Katie’s going to try! Can she clear the Mousestress’s name, uncover the real supervillain, and become the sidekick (and the friend) she’s always dreamed of being?

Katie and the Catsitter: Best Friends for Never both cracks me up and entertains me to the max。 I don’t know I will wait til the next release in this graphic novel series, but I am SO there for it!

My daughter (Katie) and I eagerly awaited the release of the second book in this series, and it did not disappoint! The plot was crisp, fun, and often times hilarious。 The humor was on point - funny for me AND for her (she's six) proving that the author can appeal to a wide range of audiences。 We can't wait for book number three! A very cute sequel! We get more superhero and supervillain shenanigans, which get even bigger and better than in the first book! Katie's real life type challenges also continue, as she begins to try to navigate a new world where her best friend returns from camp with a boyfriend, and Katie is navigating having made new friends while her friends were away。 Just like in real life, this wasn't a quick, easy, or smooth transition, and it was on all parties to try to figure out the way forward。 Very A very cute sequel! Hilarious!!!!!!! I truly loved this book because it's truly hilarious and I just wanted to say that I loved the way that sometimes you could tell the tiniest bit who the different superheroes really were。 (I have known that Beth's mom is Stainless Steel sense I started this book because of that。) Hilarious!!!!!!! I liked the first book more。 In fact, I would highly recommend the first book。 If you were to start reading from this book you would be confused, because from the cover, and from the start of the story, you would expect this book to be a typical middle-grade fiction about how friends change over the summer and make new friends, and it isn't the same any more。And yes, it is that, but throw in Owl Guy and the Mouestress, as well Stainless Steel, who are all super heroes and super villains, dependi I liked the first book more。 In fact, I would highly recommend the first book。 If you were to start reading from this book you would be confused, because from the cover, and from the start of the story, you would expect this book to be a typical middle-grade fiction about how friends change over the summer and make new friends, and it isn't the same any more。And yes, it is that, but throw in Owl Guy and the Mouestress, as well Stainless Steel, who are all super heroes and super villains, depending on who you believe, then you'll see it is a very different middle grade graphic novel, and not what you expected。Katie is the side-kick to the Mousetress, but she is bored with the training, and wants to do more。And in the meantime, everyone is obsessed with Stainless Steel, except Katie, which makes it hard to relate to everyone else。This is a cute series, and I look forward to the next story。 。。。more

Great follow up to the first book with this character。 I just love spunky Katie。 We meet up with her again at the end of the the summer。 While she is having fun with her new skateboarding friends and being an official superhero sidekick, things start to go wrong。 Moustress is being blames for crimes she didn't commit and she is having trouble with her old friends。 Katie sets out to find the real villain and depends once again on the usual 217 cats in the story。 Great follow up to the first book with this character。 I just love spunky Katie。 We meet up with her again at the end of the the summer。 While she is having fun with her new skateboarding friends and being an official superhero sidekick, things start to go wrong。 Moustress is being blames for crimes she didn't commit and she is having trouble with her old friends。 Katie sets out to find the real villain and depends once again on the usual 217 cats in the story。 。。。more

As summer and school vacation comes to a close, Katie is confused by what she perceives as changes in her best friend Bethany--call her Beth--who wants to spend time with her boyfriend Ben, leaving Katie to feel like a sidekick。 And as a sidekick to the Mousetress, Katie is frustrated by her own training and how little action she's getting to be a part of。 Plus, someone is dressing up like the Mousetress and leaving her being blamed for plenty of problems and crimes。 Strangely, the Mousetress se As summer and school vacation comes to a close, Katie is confused by what she perceives as changes in her best friend Bethany--call her Beth--who wants to spend time with her boyfriend Ben, leaving Katie to feel like a sidekick。 And as a sidekick to the Mousetress, Katie is frustrated by her own training and how little action she's getting to be a part of。 Plus, someone is dressing up like the Mousetress and leaving her being blamed for plenty of problems and crimes。 Strangely, the Mousetress seems more interested in watching baking shows and refining her culinary skills than returning to her crime-fighting ways。 It's up to Katie to figure out what's going on, but she'll need help from the more than 200 cats that live with the Mousetress。 Fans of the original Katie the Catsitter will enjoy this outing with its unlikely feline heroes and the skills they boast, just as sharp as their claws。 But I suspect readers will wish for more focus on those various cats。 I loved all their names, their special talents, their appearances, and their cattitude。 Here's hoping the third installment of this graphic series features more of those cats。 While Katie is certainly relatable, it's the cats that make this series something special。 。。。more

While I very much enjoyed the first book in this series as did my 10 yr old daughter, I didn't like this one as much。 My 10 yr old enjoyed it because she loves Katie the Catsitter and thinks she's super funny and she also loved the cats and all their names and what they could do to help with solving crimes。 I thought it was cute and fun with the cats and with Katie officially being a superhero sidekick in this one。 It was about par for the course with Katie's best friend situation where she and While I very much enjoyed the first book in this series as did my 10 yr old daughter, I didn't like this one as much。 My 10 yr old enjoyed it because she loves Katie the Catsitter and thinks she's super funny and she also loved the cats and all their names and what they could do to help with solving crimes。 I thought it was cute and fun with the cats and with Katie officially being a superhero sidekick in this one。 It was about par for the course with Katie's best friend situation where she and Beth had spent the summer apart and grown in different ways so they changed。 So, of course, their friendship also had to change with Beth having a boyfriend。 It illustrates some good topics and things that friends have to learn to deal with and how things can change as you grow up and go in different directions than your friends with your life。 This has good potential for further installments in this world and can be helpful to be used with kids when discussing some topics and such。 The illustrations and art in this graphic novel are very well done also。Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Children's/Random House Books for Young Readers for letting me read and review this graphic novel。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 。。。more

A lot of things I liked。 The plot, the conflict the humor。 I predicted the stainless steel identity pretty quickly too。 I appreciated how Madeline aka the mousetress showed her faults。

This is a graphic novel with wonderful illustrations。 I enjoyed the first story more than this one。 Some of the ideas were a bit extreme。 I like how there are super heroes that do good things to help the earth and others。 But the people being evil were out there, The creativity was good as far as the cat’s names and what their talent was, and the tools they used to solve the crimes。 The story line just didn’t do it for me。 I work with students ages 2-21。 I feel ages 8-12 would really like this b This is a graphic novel with wonderful illustrations。 I enjoyed the first story more than this one。 Some of the ideas were a bit extreme。 I like how there are super heroes that do good things to help the earth and others。 But the people being evil were out there, The creativity was good as far as the cat’s names and what their talent was, and the tools they used to solve the crimes。 The story line just didn’t do it for me。 I work with students ages 2-21。 I feel ages 8-12 would really like this book。 I can also see how the author can keep going with this series。 。。。more

I was not prepared for this graphic novel at all being about superheroes and villains! I did not read the first Katie the Catsitter book so I was a little lost at the beginning - was this contemporary? Magical? Urban fantasy? It’s just about superheroes and villains - unclear if any of the superheroes have “powers”, really, and also many hyper-intelligent cats。 It’s also about friendships and getting new friends and not remembering how to connect with your old ones。 It’s got really good art that I was not prepared for this graphic novel at all being about superheroes and villains! Who's bad? Who knows!) and the plot was pretty fun。 She felt that the first part of the book was a little slow, but the pace picked up as she read further。 She enjoyed seeing some of her favorite characters f We received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review and I handed it off immediately to my 10-year-old graphic novel loving kiddo who thought Book 1 was fantastic。 And she says。。。 She'd really give this 4。5 stars if possible。 She loved the twists and turns in the book (Who's good?
