Summary
Katie loves skating with the Wheelas and the fact that she’s officially a superhero sidekick。 But now that school’s starting， everything’s changing。 The Mousetress is getting blamed for things Katie knows she didn’t do。 Sidekick training is NOT as exciting as she’d hoped。 Katie’s best friend Beth is back in town and Beth’s new boyfriend is always hanging around （ugh！）。 Not to mention that all of Katie’s friends are mad at her。 Fixing this will be harder than any skateboarding trick。 But with the help of 217 slightly out of the ordinary cats， Katie’s going to try！ Can she clear the Mousestress’s name， uncover the real supervillain， and become the sidekick （and the friend） she’s always dreamed of being？

I liked the first book more。 In fact， I would highly recommend the first book。 If you were to start reading from this book you would be confused， because from the cover， and from the start of the story， you would expect this book to be a typical middle-grade fiction about how friends change over the summer and make new friends， and it isn't the same any more。And yes， it is that， but throw in Owl Guy and the Mouestress， as well Stainless Steel， who are all super heroes and super villains， dependi I liked the first book more。 In fact， I would highly recommend the first book。 If you were to start reading from this book you would be confused， because from the cover， and from the start of the story， you would expect this book to be a typical middle-grade fiction about how friends change over the summer and make new friends， and it isn't the same any more。And yes， it is that， but throw in Owl Guy and the Mouestress， as well Stainless Steel， who are all super heroes and super villains， depending on who you believe， then you'll see it is a very different middle grade graphic novel， and not what you expected。Katie is the side-kick to the Mousetress， but she is bored with the training， and wants to do more。And in the meantime， everyone is obsessed with Stainless Steel， except Katie， which makes it hard to relate to everyone else。This is a cute series， and I look forward to the next story。 。。。more

While I very much enjoyed the first book in this series as did my 10 yr old daughter， I didn't like this one as much。 My 10 yr old enjoyed it because she loves Katie the Catsitter and thinks she's super funny and she also loved the cats and all their names and what they could do to help with solving crimes。 I thought it was cute and fun with the cats and with Katie officially being a superhero sidekick in this one。 It was about par for the course with Katie's best friend situation where she and While I very much enjoyed the first book in this series as did my 10 yr old daughter， I didn't like this one as much。 My 10 yr old enjoyed it because she loves Katie the Catsitter and thinks she's super funny and she also loved the cats and all their names and what they could do to help with solving crimes。 I thought it was cute and fun with the cats and with Katie officially being a superhero sidekick in this one。 It was about par for the course with Katie's best friend situation where she and Beth had spent the summer apart and grown in different ways so they changed。 So， of course， their friendship also had to change with Beth having a boyfriend。 It illustrates some good topics and things that friends have to learn to deal with and how things can change as you grow up and go in different directions than your friends with your life。 This has good potential for further installments in this world and can be helpful to be used with kids when discussing some topics and such。 The illustrations and art in this graphic novel are very well done also。Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Children's/Random House Books for Young Readers for letting me read and review this graphic novel。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 。。。more

I was not prepared for this graphic novel at all being about superheroes and villains！ I did not read the first Katie the Catsitter book so I was a little lost at the beginning - was this contemporary？ Magical？ Urban fantasy？ It’s just about superheroes and villains - unclear if any of the superheroes have “powers”， really， and also many hyper-intelligent cats。 It’s also about friendships and getting new friends and not remembering how to connect with your old ones。 It’s got really good art that I was not prepared for this graphic novel at all being about superheroes and villains！ I did not read the first Katie the Catsitter book so I was a little lost at the beginning - was this contemporary？ Magical？ Urban fantasy？ It’s just about superheroes and villains - unclear if any of the superheroes have “powers”， really， and also many hyper-intelligent cats。 It’s also about friendships and getting new friends and not remembering how to connect with your old ones。 It’s got really good art that isn’t necessarily realistic but feels relatable。 The cast is both diverse and delightful。 There are twists that I definitely saw coming， but also I am An Adult and familiar with The Tropes — a child Latitude would definitely be surprised。 Five stars！ 。。。more
