Summary

Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone。 Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon。 Knox doesn’t tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded runaway bride。

Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding。 She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way…with fists and beer。 Usually in that order。

Too bad for Naomi her evil twin hasn’t changed at all。 After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected。 The niece Naomi didn’t know she had。 Now she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home with an 11-year-old going on thirty to take care of。

There’s a reason Knox doesn’t do complications or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones。 But since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam。 And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble he can leave her alone and get back to his peaceful, solitary life。

At least, that’s the plan until the trouble turns to real danger。

Exceedingly poor artistryA shallow money grab by an author with a very limited vocabulary。 There is no artistry to the writing whatsoever。 A waste of time。

Things We Never Got Over by Lucy ScoreRating: 5 starGenre: RomanceOkay…we both read this one and loved it! It’s romance between two characters who are healing broken pasts。 It’s family fiction with a side of suspense。 Now my only question is when do we get book 2 in this series and whose story will be next? Nash? Lucien? I can’t wait!I will say this book is really long and VERY steamy! Just be warned!! Ugh。 I was really hoping this was going to be the first book I actually liked (and finished) by this author, but at 25% in, I’m calling it quits。 I just don’t think her stories are for me。 I’ve tried a few and always DNF。 This book is looooong。 500 pages long and after the first 125, I feel like I’ve been reading it forever and losing interest more with every swipe of the page。 I don’t get it。 Twins, Naomi and Tina, grew up on Long Island in a seemingly good family with money。 Tina, the “bad” tw Ugh。 I was really hoping this was going to be the first book I actually liked (and finished) by this author, but at 25% in, I’m calling it quits。 I just don’t think her stories are for me。 I’ve tried a few and always DNF。 This book is looooong。 500 pages long and after the first 125, I feel like I’ve been reading it forever and losing interest more with every swipe of the page。 I don’t get it。 Twins, Naomi and Tina, grew up on Long Island in a seemingly good family with money。 Tina, the “bad” twin runs off after high school and cuts off her family。 She ends up living in Virginia and becomes trailer trash in every sense of the word。 She’s a liar, a thief, a slut, and is despised by everyone。 She names her poor kid, Waylay, for crying out loud! Why did she turn out like this??? How??? This is never explained, at least not in the first 125 pages。 It just makes zero sense how someone from a good upbringing ends up as such a terrible, low class human being。 Naomi irked the crap out of me。 Naomi has what seemed like the perfect life in NY。 She has a house, a good job, and was about to marry a millionaire, but runs away on her wedding day after realizing he did not appreciate her or love her enough。 Then she ends up getting swindled by her sister who steals her car, cash, and credit cards。 Her cel phone was broken on the drive down to Virginia, so she has no way to call anyone she knows for help。 BUT on her first day in town, she is given an adorable story book cottage to live in rent-free, a job, free babysitting, she makes a dozen new friends, and is taken on a shopping spree where a new phone is purchased for her, along with a bunch of expensive underwear。 Oh, and her niece, who was just abandoned by her mother and doesn’t even know her, just loves her right away。 OMG, could this story be any more unrealistic or ridiculous?! Wait, it can, because there’s growly, grumpy Knox, who hates Naomi merely because he’s mad at himself for thinking she’s pretty (eye roll x 1000), but is wealthy because he was the winner of an 11 million dollar lottery and owns half the town。 He’s 40 years old and has the emotional maturity of a 10 year old boy…teasing Naomi and being mean to her because he secretly likes her。 Gag。 All of the sidekick characters are stereotypical caricatures and somehow every single person Naomi comes across is wealthy and just can’t wait to buy her stuff or give her things for free because they adore her the minute they meet her。 How convenient。 I can’t。 I just can’t read any more! 。。。more

Surprisingly Interesting My First book by her and I wasn't disappointed but it was a lot。 Twin vs Twin, from enemies to lovers, to "opposite attracts"。 The story will keep you going just enough to get to the ending。 I love the fact that it Naomi ended up with Way (her niece) in the end and that Knox finally "Manned" up and be with Naomi。 However Tina who's Naomi twin just frustrated me how can you just abandon your child after "suckering" your twin into town to take care of Way with no explanati Surprisingly Interesting My First book by her and I wasn't disappointed but it was a lot。 Twin vs Twin, from enemies to lovers, to "opposite attracts"。 The story will keep you going just enough to get to the ending。 I love the fact that it Naomi ended up with Way (her niece) in the end and that Knox finally "Manned" up and be with Naomi。 However Tina who's Naomi twin just frustrated me how can you just abandon your child after "suckering" your twin into town to take care of Way with no explanation 😒。 I wouldn't mind reading more about the other characters especially Lucy and Sloane what is it with them that made them "Hate" each other。 But the SPICY 🌶 parts of this book made it worthwhile。 Overall easy read。 。。。more

I absolutely love when a hyped book lives up to its hype。I had seen so many 5 star reviews for this from friends I really trust。 Which I think scared me even more because they weren't just strangers screaming about a book, it was people who I know I share a lot of opinions with。Starting it I was a bit dubious。 The vibes I was getting was not what I thought a lot of my friends would give 5⭐️'s to but I think I was overthinking it。 After a bit of reassurance from @fierce。heroine I powered through I absolutely love when a hyped book lives up to its hype。I had seen so many 5 star reviews for this from friends I really trust。 Which I think scared me even more because they weren't just strangers screaming about a book, it was people who I know I share a lot of opinions with。Starting it I was a bit dubious。 The vibes I was getting was not what I thought a lot of my friends would give 5⭐️'s to but I think I was overthinking it。 After a bit of reassurance from @fierce。heroine I powered through the first 20% and by then I was fully in love with this story and especially the characters。This story had so much humour and great characters。 The chemistry between the sunshine and the grump really stole the show。 I would absolutely recommend if you haven't read it already 🌼 。。。more

Where do I even begin?! I fell in love with the characters in this book & by the end, I felt like I was a resident of Knocketmout。 The tension, the buildup, the romance, the family drama, I loved all of it。 So well written and incredibly hard to put down。 Looking forward to reading more by Lucy Score this year。

Laughed and CriedI was in a dark romance phase when I decided to pick this little gem up for a change of scenery and I couldn't be happier that I did。 In some parts I laughed so hard I nearly woke my toddler and in others I needed to fumble around for a tissue to dry my eyes。 Fantastic book with great characters, love Knox & Daze (I prefer Witty tbh) 。 Can't wait for the second book, which I have everything crossed its Lucy's because !?! Really enjoyed this book - and liked both main characters - but while I love a happy ending, this one was just a bit (extremely) cheesy and overdone。 Also - just in case Lucy Score is ever reading this, please rethink Nash and Lina! I love love love what’s building between Sloane and Lucius, but Lina’s character was really unlikeable。

This story had me from when Knox was trying to kick Naomi out of town。 Although he was mistaking her for her infamous twin Tina, who apparently caused quite the ruckus in Knockemout。 This story was so much more than just a simple story。 So very much more! I felt such a kinship with Naomi because I am just like her; I am always trying to please everyone before I even think of myself。 And then when I do focus on me, I won't ask for help by the people in my life who always offer to help。And Knox。 F This story had me from when Knox was trying to kick Naomi out of town。 Although he was mistaking her for her infamous twin Tina, who apparently caused quite the ruckus in Knockemout。 This story was so much more than just a simple story。 So very much more! I truly hope there will be more! 。。。more

One sad star。This book has an average goodreads rating of 4。5 of which I am truly baffled and do not understand - did I read a different book than everyone else?! Unless I am just too mature for my age (24), these characters are way too immature and read as if they were in their late 20's or early 30's at best。I am very comfortable with reading spicy scenes, so I had no issue with that, but I did however think it was super odd that in all the spice scenes the characters were having a chatty side conversation WHILE doing it。 It was super distracting and irritating as a reader。The ending - don't get me started。 There is nothing I hate more than ruining a romance, just to give the characters a 2 minute scene where they confess their deepest secret, and suddenly everything is right in the world and *shocker* the story then proceeds to wrap up in one single chapter。Also couldn't understand how the adult characters really expected the 11 year old to not swear, when all they did was swear around her/while talking to her。In short, I was not invested or attached to any character。 Maybe the dog, Waylon, but that's a stretch too。 *apparently there's a future second book set in the same town 'Knockemout', which I also don't understand* 。。。more

:')))))))))))))))))))))))I loved it。I decided that I'd seen this book twice on booktok and was going to hop on reading it before the rest of booktok stuck their talons in it and warped my impression on it。 I'm so glad I did。 Going into this book with very little expectations and information worked in my favour because I truly expected NOTHING。 I didn't know what was going to happen next or what the possible end goal was going to be but I was in no way disappointed。 Naomi blew into town fresh out :')))))))))))))))))))))))I loved it。I decided that I'd seen this book twice on booktok and was going to hop on reading it before the rest of booktok stuck their talons in it and warped my impression on it。 I'm so glad I did。 Going into this book with very little expectations and information worked in my favour because I truly expected NOTHING。 I didn't know what was going to happen next or what the possible end goal was going to be but I was in no way disappointed。 Naomi blew into town fresh out of running out on her wedding and she is not surprised that the first thing she's faced within her minute of being in Knockemout was a consequence of her delinquent twin sister's mess。 Knox is not interested in mess, especially ones that come dishevelled and with a psycho twin who is an even bigger pain in his ass。 His wishes are thwarted quick when this girl he'd just been yelling at reveals a string of messes that, even when they seem like they're done, keep on coming。 He can blame it on the nice guy in him, but one look at Naomi's face when one shitty thing after another land in her lap has him sticking by。 Him and the rest of this town。 Naomi is down a job, house, husband, car and now twin sister。。。 but she now has an eleven-year-old niece she never knew about and an angry viking with a lot of attitude breathing down her neck。Nothing about being here is what she had in her next step but she rolls with the punches and goes where help is needed but what happens when Naomi is the one that needs help?Listen to me very carefully, read this book。I think when Naomi called Knox Knoxathan is when I knew this book was going to be special and I was right。 I loved everyone。 Naomi's instant support system from this town made me so emotional and I was so happy that she finally was being looked after in a way she's deserved for so long。 Her sister was a real piece of work but she did not let anything affect the way she was about to change Waylay's life for the better。 She'd be the best aunt/guardian for her and nothing was going to get in her way。 Knox was all macho man and no reasoning and I think in real life I'd find this infuriating but I LOVED HIM。 I think I highlighted 3 different quotes and just said "ily" because he was being perfect so of course I loved him。 How could you not。I want more。 Lucy Score, this is not the end。 I will be back for another and I will once again prepare myself for none of it。 。。。more
