Summary

نقرأ النسخة العربية من كتاب The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying

This took me a long time to read - there was a lot to unpack。 I love the idea of treating our clothes as if they had 'feelings' and wanted a special place to 'rest' - I have noticed when I do that little 'thank you for keeping me warm today' thing when I put a sweater back in the drawer I tend to (feel silly, yes) but also take better care of it。 It's strange。 This is one of those books where you won't apply every single principle to your life, (I will always have more than 30 books) but the one This took me a long time to read - there was a lot to unpack。 I love the idea of treating our clothes as if they had 'feelings' and wanted a special place to 'rest' - I have noticed when I do that little 'thank you for keeping me warm today' thing when I put a sweater back in the drawer I tend to (feel silly, yes) but also take better care of it。 It's strange。 This is one of those books where you won't apply every single principle to your life, (I will always have more than 30 books) but the one or two things you do take away becomes a part of your daily life。 I think that's amazing。 It's a NYT best seller for a reason。 。。。more

I didn't want to write a review until I used the Konmari method on my own room。 It has been two weeks since finishing her book and I am finally ready to write my thoughts。 First, I just love Marie Kondo, she seems so sweet。 Second, it is so refreshing to see the way she describes objects so beautifully, keeping in mind the way they feel。 Oh and something about the writing made me feel so relaxed, it was great! After doing a tidying session that lasted two whole days, I can say that I really like I didn't want to write a review until I used the Konmari method on my own room。 It has been two weeks since finishing her book and I am finally ready to write my thoughts。 First, I just love Marie Kondo, she seems so sweet。 Second, it is so refreshing to see the way she describes objects so beautifully, keeping in mind the way they feel。 Oh and something about the writing made me feel so relaxed, it was great! After doing a tidying session that lasted two whole days, I can say that I really like her method。 I tried holding my possessions near my heart and determining whether or not to keep it solely on the feeling I got from it however this did not work for me。 Maybe I did it wrong, who knows? but I tried。 Instead, I just looked at it and based my decision off of my own knowledge。 I am pretty confident that I know what truly sparks joy for me without having to hug the items the way she describes, so changing this part wasn't a big deal for me。 I really liked the whole idea of only keeping things that spark joy, instead of focusing on just getting rid of things and minimizing (which I have done in the past)。 I also did like her method of folding but I decided against using it for my entire wardrobe because I have a big closet compared to the size of my actual wardrobe。 If I were to do her method for all my clothes my closet would look so empty and pathetic。 I'm also a fan of the idea of having every item have their specific spot, it just makes sense。 Obviously I'm hoping that my room stays as beautiful as it is right now, I trust Marie Kondo, so I'm sure it will。。。 。。。more

Very overrated book。 Basically, the author says if you want to tidy up, get rid of clutter or stuff you don’t use。 No life-changing magic here at all, just very basic common sense。 There you go, I just saved you both time and money, now you don’t have to buy or borrow the book。

Non scritto benissimo, ma illuminante per molti aspetti。

Sure it’s a good book with a lot of helpful tips and insights on organizing your belongs and by that extent your life。 But to me it sounded more like a smart kid who nurtured her introverted nature and hobby into something productive to the point where she was able to turn it into a fruitful career and help other people clean up their cluttered lives。 Neat!

I'm waaaay late to the #konmari party but recently discovered her series on Netflix。 I enjoyed listening to this book and her journey of how she created this method of tidiness。 I would love to implement this method and all of her ideas in my home but I wish there was more information about how to get other members of your family on board。 Ultimately I think you would all have to be on the same page in order for this to work successfully。 Yes, you can start with your own things but my home has s I'm waaaay late to the #konmari party but recently discovered her series on Netflix。 I enjoyed listening to this book and her journey of how she created this method of tidiness。 I would love to implement this method and all of her ideas in my home but I wish there was more information about how to get other members of your family on board。 Ultimately I think you would all have to be on the same page in order for this to work successfully。 Yes, you can start with your own things but my home has several "common areas" that remain the downfall because they don't have everyone on board。 Regardless I have seen some improvement in my daughter after watching the show and we do love the folding technique。 It was also encouraging to learn that I've been doing some of her techniques and suggestions naturally and organically before ever reading the book。 。。。more

I wanted to feel “inspired” after reading this book。 But it just didn’t do it for me。 She simplifies everything to “does it spark joy?” Not everything I own sparks joy。 But I have a system that I think works。 It was an easy read but I don’t see myself using this technique。

The author gives tips on how to declutter your accommodation。 This action helps you assess priorities, leave the past behind and head into a bright future。 Written in a fun, quirky and honest manner。

Was recommended the book as part of a habit building collection, and ended up prioritizing it since I have an apartment move coming up。 I liked the book a lot。 Has really helped me get into a good throw away mindset and focus on the things I use and enjoy。

It's a very radical way to go minimalistic, but at the same time it has good points to organize and feel the flow of your place and create a very harmonious environment。 It has important steps of how to decide what to keep and reason behind it so you can select properly what to keep and what to discard。 I won't be able to see my clothes and other materials objects at home with the same perspective after I readthis book。 It's a very radical way to go minimalistic, but at the same time it has good points to organize and feel the flow of your place and create a very harmonious environment。 It has important steps of how to decide what to keep and reason behind it so you can select properly what to keep and what to discard。 I won't be able to see my clothes and other materials objects at home with the same perspective after I readthis book。 。。。more

I could only read about the first 20 pages of this book before I gave up。 She sounds obnoxious, spoiled and bougie。 Saying things like ‘if you don’t find joy in something, throw it away, if you need it later you can buy it again‘ (paraphrased)。 Seems pretty wasteful to me。 So if my Tupperware container doesn’t spark joy, I should throw it away, but when I need one tomorrow just buy a new one? Hard pass on this book。

Key point: Only keep items that give you joy。 What I got from it: 1。 When folding clothes try and organize them vertically。 If you pile shirts, for example, in a cupboard one on top of the other then you'd rarely see/use the shirt on the bottom of the pile。 By folding them and then aligning them vertically (stacking them side by side) then we can always see what shirts we have available。 2。 The way to keep a clean room/house is to discard items that don't bring joy。 Then, once you have only item Key point: Only keep items that give you joy。 What I got from it: 1。 When folding clothes try and organize them vertically。 If you pile shirts, for example, in a cupboard one on top of the other then you'd rarely see/use the shirt on the bottom of the pile。 By folding them and then aligning them vertically (stacking them side by side) then we can always see what shirts we have available。 2。 The way to keep a clean room/house is to discard items that don't bring joy。 Then, once you have only items you want, ensure that each item in your room has a specific place。 Putting items back in their specific place (ie when come from work) is a good way of ensuring your room never gets messy。3。 Respect your clothes and items you own。 Thank them for what they've done for you。 Don't be afraid to discard items (even if you feel guilty for not using them)。 。。。more

Although I’ve definitely heard about this book and keeping only things that spark joy, I am pleasantly surprised to find how spiritual this book is。 First by deep diving into why a tidy house or a feminine style or whatever reason is important to you, makes perfect sense。 Then to declutter by going category by category, item by item, only keeping what sparks joy。 The items that no linger spark joy, to thank them and let them go is such a nice closing ritual。 I especially loved the appreciation f Although I’ve definitely heard about this book and keeping only things that spark joy, I am pleasantly surprised to find how spiritual this book is。 First by deep diving into why a tidy house or a feminine style or whatever reason is important to you, makes perfect sense。 Then to declutter by going category by category, item by item, only keeping what sparks joy。 The items that no linger spark joy, to thank them and let them go is such a nice closing ritual。 I especially loved the appreciation for the house when entering or clothing after using, as I know how nice that feels。 I love the idea of asking the house what needs yo be done, or allowing the clothing to speak to you。 I appreciate the extension of spirit through these physical items as the communication is always there if we are open to it。 As someone who has traveled a lot and lived abroad and now permanently living in a country other than the one I grew up in, I have ruthlessly decluttered more times than I can count。 Even now with my own family, I regularly declutter。 There is one major exception to this which has been my journals。 I appreciated Marie Kondo’s question of reluctance of letting go of sentimental items as a way of holding on to the past, or of clinging to a future and will keep this in mind next time I tidy。 :) 。。。more
