Summary

From the internationally bestselling author of The Simple Wild comes the story of a woman at a crossroads in her life, struggling between the safe route and the one that will only lead to more heartbreak。

Veterinarian Marie Lehr knows unrequited love all too well after pining for her best friend, only to watch him marry another woman。 It’s a mistake she will never make again, especially not when she can practically hear the clock ticking on her childbearing years。

The trouble is, she can’t seem to find anyone who appeals to her even a fraction as much as that burly bush pilot did。 Competitive musher Tyler Brady certainly doesn’t, especially not after the heated altercation with the handsome but arrogant, spiteful man。

Or so she thinks。

While volunteering at the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, Marie discovers that first impressions may have been false, and her attraction to Tyler is very real。 But his heart belongs to someone else, leaving him with nothing to offer but friendship。 Marie’s been down this road before and knows how that ends。 Yet, no matter how hard she works to keep from falling for Tyler, it seems she’s doomed to follow her own trail once again。

Marie volunteers for the famous Iditarod and becomes acquainted with recent Alaska transplant Tyler Brady。 His spouse was from a famed mushing family in Denmark and passed away in childbirth two years prior。Their attraction is hampered by his grief process and guilt of moving on。 This is a more mature relationship than explored in the previous books, tinted by previous heartache。 And hope。I enjoyed Running Wild even more than I expected to - its comforting being back in a setting so previously enjoyed, with a mix of new and old characters。 The elements of dogs and racing were super interesting as well, a welcome new slant on the franchise。 Thank you Kathleen Tucker, for taking us back! I absolutely hope there is more to come。For fans of the series (and if you haven't read it yet, get on that!), recommended! For release on Jan。 25。 。。。more

(Love him) Running Wild made me so very happy。 I love being immersed in that very special world that KA Tucker created with characters I feel like I know。 It was like coming home。 And I loved the trip back so much。 。。。more

Come back to alaska for another exciting novel based in the wild series。 While this story doesn’t focus on Calla and Jonah ther is a few appearences from them but i feel like this is more of a redemtion story for Marie。 I was really excited to see a story about her and a new love interest that wasnt Jonah。 i felt like she deserved one even though she appeared to be more of a villain in previous novels。 This story can be read as a standalone but it does spoil a lot of the previous stories in the Come back to alaska for another exciting novel based in the wild series。 While this story doesn’t focus on Calla and Jonah ther is a few appearences from them but i feel like this is more of a redemtion story for Marie。 I was really excited to see a story about her and a new love interest that wasnt Jonah。 i felt like she deserved one even though she appeared to be more of a villain in previous novels。 This story can be read as a standalone but it does spoil a lot of the previous stories in the series。Running wild covers Maries point of view and life after the events of the other novels。 After acussing the new kennel of abusing dogs, Marie starts a bit of a war with the owner Tyler only to get to know him better and learn that maybe they just might be on the same sides after all。 In a enemies to lovers theme, this novel builds a ahrd to put down story that i just could not get enough of。 I think this may be my favorite novel of K。A, Tuckers yet。 This is one not to miss。Thank you to the author for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review。 。。。more

I really enjoyed the direction that this story went as well。 When it was announced that this would be Marie's story, I was curious just how Kathleen would make the story and the settings just different enough to not feel like it was reliving The Simple Wild or Wild at Heart, while still making it obvious that it was the same place and moment, and I think that including so much of the sport and setting part of the book on the Iditarod trail was a really fun way to do just that! It felt separate from Trapper's Crossing, but still left plenty of room for Marie to head back to the places and characters that we already know and love。 Now let's talk about the new characters that we get in this book。 We really get to deep dive into Marie's family, and I loved some of them more than others (looking at you, Liz。 You know what you did。) but the dynamic of all of them together was so fun, and so relatable to me! I have a few older brothers, and it's always been a bit overwhelming for guests when you get all of us in the same room, so the weekly family dinner scenes were honestly some of my favorites。 And Tyler Brady。 Obviously swoon worthy。 Not much to say except wow and that I will read more about him, thank you。 I also fell in love with Marie's friend/office mate Cory。 She was so playful and sassy, and she really stood out to me! Overall I loved this book。 I devoured this book。 If stupid things like eating and sleeping and going to work hadn't gotten in the way, then I would have just sat down and read the entire thing in a single sitting。 And I would absolutely recommend it to friends。 I would say that the best way to read this book would be curled up under a blanket on a snowy afternoon with a glass of wine or a hot toddy。 But no light beer。 Sorry Marie, Tyler might not be judging your drink of choice, but I sure will。 。。。more

Her family play a big supporting role and I loved every time her dad appeared on the page (not so much her ignorant brother-in-law)。 Wild favourites like Calla and Jonah make brief appearances as well, which made this feel like a full-circle moment。Overall, I really liked Running Wild and getting Marie's point of view。 This was definitely different to other books in the series but Tyler is bound to find his way into your heart。 So the next time you feel the need to escape to Alaska, check out Running Wild and this entire series。Thank you so much to the author and Valentine PR for the ARC in exchange for this honest review。 。。。more

Received a arc for a honest review。 。。。more

This is a slower paced story that I ended up connecting to in an unexpected way。 ~All the characters both primary and secondary are in the midst of figuring out their next steps in life, as things haven’t gone for them as they expected。 It’s about their journey forward, with all the mixed emotions, messiness and mistakes that life brings。 I think that made it so very relatable and gave it a sense of realism that really hit home for me personally。 Marie is a character from previous books in the m This is a slower paced story that I ended up connecting to in an unexpected way。 ~All the emotions, messiness and mistakes that life brings。 I think that made it so very relatable and gave it a sense of realism that really hit home for me personally。 Marie is a character from previous books in the much loved series, it would be easy to go into this book disliking her, I made sure I had an open mind。Her previous bouts of jealousy and a bit of interfering with Jonah and Calla’s relationship (main characters in the previous books) are very basic and human shortcomings that I could understand in this story because it’s from her perspective。 I’m not justifying, I just Iunderstand。 I didn’t find it very hard to feel for her, that was a relief to me。 She had disappointments and perceived failures in her life that made me sympathetic to her。Her struggles AND her accomplishments made me respect her。She’s a second generation country veterinarian in Alaska。She really goes the extra mile for animals, it’s a very endearing quality that BOTH main characters possess。She’s a caring, generous and sometimes selfless person。 Sometimes to her detriment。Now, enter Tyler。 The hot shot, mysterious guy who’s new to the small Alaskan town and he’s fresh off a big European dog sled racing win。Rumors precede his introduction。 He’s the talk of the community。 His dogs are said to be very talented and special。 His arrival stirs the racing and breeding community up。 Both in a positive and negative way。 Especially with the Iditarod (famous dog sled race) coming soon。Tyler is very guarded and private。 He comes across as surly and arrogant。 I will admit I was feeling hot for him almost immediately。 I like a complicated and self assured man。 And he is amazing with animals。。 swoon! His first interactions with Marie are fiery and they get started on the wrong foot。 Their first encounter is especially bad, there’s a very big misunderstanding and some extremely harsh, indirect accusations are made。 It is not pretty。 It has the classic enemies to lovers banter and sizzle。 The chemistry between them is there from the very beginning。 Although, it is incredibly slow burn。 -At around the 20 percent mark or so of the book there was a lot of the dog sled race(the Iditarod) It had a bit too much information and intricacies for me, I started to lose interest。 I wasn’t enjoying the details。 I understand the research that must have gone into it and appreciate that。 It did describe it in a way that I could picture it and understand some basics。However, I did struggle for a bit with lack of interest。Then, fortunately the story took a turn and got more interesting to me。 After that point it picked up and I was invested and committed to the story and characters。 Marie’s family plays a big part in the story。 They bring family tension, turmoil, a lot of heart and love。 I adore her parents so much。 They balance their insight with some quirky behavior and they brought some laughs for me。Tyler has suffered a tragedy that’s still fresh and very painful。 It is what holds him back from pursuing more with Marie。Tyler is quick witted, which is so sexy to me。 He’s very determined and motivated。 He has a very caring nature, he’s a quality person who hides it a bit with his stand-offish attitude and behavior。 It adds to his mystery and appeal。This is a low drama story, it is angsty in a very realistic way。 (I love that the characters are in their late 30’s。)It’s a story I relaxed into, the important moments aren’t explosive。 They’re subtle and still emotional。 There’s a lot of beautiful moments。 The characters are multi-dimensional and I think their mistakes are as interesting as their shining moments。-The romance is very, very slow。 I enjoyed the characters journey’s and the story。Unfortunately, I DID want more romance。 I wanted more banter, conversations and scenes with Tyler and Marie。I really wanted to have their connection explored more。 I wanted the full butterflies and sexy encounters。In other books the author has a very engaging way of writing these things。That’s what fell short, in my opinion。 If it had more of those aspects it would have been a 5 Star read for me。Alaska as the backdrop, the culture there and the culture surrounding the dogs/sledding really are a big part of the mood and appeal of the story。-I love that Jonah, Calla and many of their friends (characters from the previous books) are in this story。 I loved seeing what they were up to, I got to get a glimpse into their lives。 They are top favorite fictional characters of mine, I love this world and amazing characters the author has created。Overall it’s a good story, it’s interesting, unique and has relatable characters。 I’m happy to have Marie’s story, Tyler was intriguing, likable and very appealing。 I liked my latest visit to my favorite Alaskan world。 。。。more

Another great book in the Simple Wild series。 I loved Running Wild, this book being Marie’s story。 Marie, a vet in Alaska, has been engaged, broke it off because she was in love with her best friend (who has noble married someone else), and is alone。 She takes care of many kennels in her area, dogs that participate in the famous Iditarod race。 A newcomer arrives in town, buys a huge piece of property, comes from Finland, and brings all of his dogs with him。 He also brings a past, a past that he Another great book in the Simple Wild series。 I loved Running Wild, this book being Marie’s story。 Marie, a vet in Alaska, has been engaged, broke it off because she was in love with her best friend (who has noble married someone else), and is alone。 She takes care of many kennels in her area, dogs that participate in the famous Iditarod race。 A newcomer arrives in town, buys a huge piece of property, comes from Finland, and brings all of his dogs with him。 He also brings a past, a past that he is having trouble leaving behind。 Loved this story of Tyler and Marie! 5 stars! 。。。more

By now I’m sure everyone knows The Simple Wild was my top read last year。 I was nervous gor this one and if you’ve read the previous books you def know why (no one can try to come between Jonah and Calla 😤)- I was convinced Marie would be hard to redeem。But wow oh wow did this take me back to those feelings I had the first time I read TSW。KA Tucker created a story of healing and hope。 All the stars, all the tears。 Full review to come

Thank you to Valentine PR for an e-ARC of this book - all opinions are my own!I'll be honest。。。 I was very hesitant going into Marie's story, but I'm happy to report I really enjoyed this book。 As per all the books in this series, it tugged on my heart strings and had me even shedding a few tears! What I liked:- Loved being back in Alaska, learning more about the mushing industry, and thought the setting of the big Iditarod Sled Dog Race was fun! - Diving more into Marie's background, family (her Thank you to Valentine PR for an e-ARC of this book - all opinions are my own!I'll be honest。。。 I was very hesitant going into Marie's story, but I'm happy to report I really enjoyed this book。 As per all the books in this series, it tugged on my heart strings and had me even shedding a few tears! What I liked:- Loved being back in Alaska, learning more about the mushing industry, and thought the setting of the big Iditarod Sled Dog Race was fun! - Diving more into Marie's background, family (her dad is such a GEM), and her POV when it came to Jonah and Calla's love story。 - I did really like Tyler and enjoyed watching their relationship grow! - Personal growth for both Marie and Tyler, two heartbroken people trying to find their own paths forward。 - Loved seeing all the characters from The Simple Wild series - Agnes, Mabel, Roy, Muriel, Toby, and everyone else! I think my biggest struggle with the book was the pacing - I needed more of Tyler and Marie in the first half! Not that I didn't enjoy that part of the book, but it was definitely a slow start and I wasn't fully invested until the 40% mark。 But after that, the story flies and it's hard to put down。 I was rooting for Marie and Tyler throughout the whole book (despite their rocky start) and while a few things bugged me about how Tyler handled some things (no spoilers here), I could totally understand what he was struggling with (just doesn't mean I have to like it :) )。 Overall, a great continuation in the series and I'm happy we got this book about Marie!Rating: 4 stars 。。。more

I liked The Simple Wild。 I loved Running Wild。 The main difference for me is that Marie is relatable and Calla is not。 I couldn't stop reading Marie's story。 Marie has accepted that Jonah will never be more than her best friend。 It's hard to move on though, especially when she's holding out for a passionate love and she feels like it has slipped through her fingers。The not-so-meet-cute made me oh-so-happy。 I love when I can tell there is a great chemistry even when one is more likely to punch th I liked The Simple Wild。 I loved Running Wild。 The main difference for me is that Marie is relatable and Calla is not。 I couldn't stop reading Marie's story。 Marie has accepted that Jonah will never be more than her best friend。 It's hard to move on though, especially when she's holding out for a passionate love and she feels like it has slipped through her fingers。The not-so-meet-cute made me oh-so-happy。 I love when I can tell there is a great chemistry even when one is more likely to punch the other than kiss them。 Can't blame a girl for loving enemies-to-lovers。The flow of the story is sublime。 While there were a few moments I had to chalk up to coincidence, I loved so much how KA Tucker consistently pulls apart what should be unbelievable and puts it back together in the best of ways。 I've read more than a few of her books and nothing has touched Say You Still Love Me as my favorite until now。Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for the advanced copy。 All thoughts in this review are my own。Romance: Open Door 。。。more
