I was gifted a much earlier version of this book that was fun, informative, and handy in waterproof form。 I have bought this book several times in several versions as gifts and to update mine。 While I agree the most recent version added some silly things and is a little less informative or practical, it’s still a good intro to surviving unlikely circumstances。 Last Christmas I gifted it to my staff。 I still find it fun and helpful。 I do hope that future additions will have more practical solutio I was gifted a much earlier version of this book that was fun, informative, and handy in waterproof form。 I have bought this book several times in several versions as gifts and to update mine。 While I agree the most recent version added some silly things and is a little less informative or practical, it’s still a good intro to surviving unlikely circumstances。 Last Christmas I gifted it to my staff。 I still find it fun and helpful。 I do hope that future additions will have more practical solutions being added and some of the old standards about wilderness survival come back。 I know there are a million survival books out there, but this was a great introduction and for the casual survivalist, a good book to have on hand。 It is also a great travel book that can be picked up and put down, referenced, or read cover to cover。 。。。more

very informative, a variety of different scenarios and very thorough with explanations。 straight to the point and doesn't dilly dally on useless information。 I like that it has tips and extra notes as well as resources in the back of the book。 very informative, a variety of different scenarios and very thorough with explanations。 straight to the point and doesn't dilly dally on useless information。 I like that it has tips and extra notes as well as resources in the back of the book。 。。。more

Funny and ridiculous but enjoyable。 Hopefully none of us will ever have to use these skills! This is an enjoyable series of books。

I loved this book! I thought it was super interesting and put together in a really fun way。 The humor mixed into it was outstanding and I felt like it was a great read。

To me this is one of those bathroom books。 It was a good bathroom book but I never knew better until now what that meant。 It is funny and I laughed out loud a few times so people might be wondering what your doing in there or why its taking so long。 Some of these things would never happen and some depend on if you live in that type of area but all in all loved it。

This is not meant to be a lost in the woods type of survival book。 Most of the situations documented here can be survived through common sense application but to see it written down gives the actions some legitimacy。 The authors do give some tongue in cheek advice such as what to do if buried in a coffin。 Advice on how to win a sword fight is somwewhat interesting but useful only if you can put in serious practice。 All in all a fun read but mostly without much practical usefulness。

Delightfully entertaining and educational as always。 I truly enjoy the illustrations and have a laugh while learning。

In 7 chapters, you'll learn how to survive many dangerous scenarios。 Some are possible: - Snakebite- Getting lost in the desert/mountains- Earthquake- Knife/bullet woundSome are comically unlikely:- How to leap from your motorcycle into a car- How to win a sword fightFortunately, most of the scenarios are not jokes。 They are possible。 Also, it's loaded with illustrations。Therefore, this book is practical, entertaining, and educational。 That explains why it's a perennial bestseller。This is the 20 In 7 chapters, you'll learn how to survive many dangerous scenarios。 Some are possible: - Snakebite- Getting lost in the desert/mountains- Earthquake- Knife/bullet woundSome are comically unlikely:- How to leap from your motorcycle into a car- How to win a sword fightFortunately, most of the scenarios are not jokes。 They are possible。 Also, it's loaded with illustrations。Therefore, this book is practical, entertaining, and educational。 That explains why it's a perennial bestseller。This is the 2019 edition。 。。。more

A practical and useful guide on how to survive certain disasters and scenarios。 Some of the extreme situations had me chuckling a bit (being attacked by a clown)。 Other situations scared me even more than I already was。 For example, I am not a good flyer and often get extremely nervous when the plane hits turbulence, so on the section of how to survive in-flight emergencies made me even more fearful the next time I have to fly and experience the bumps and disturbances。 Overall, this was a quick A practical and useful guide on how to survive certain disasters and scenarios。 Some of the extreme situations had me chuckling a bit (being attacked by a clown)。 Other situations scared me even more than I already was。 For example, I am not a good flyer and often get extremely nervous when the plane hits turbulence, so on the section of how to survive in-flight emergencies made me even more fearful the next time I have to fly and experience the bumps and disturbances。 Overall, this was a quick read。 I would suggest taking your time reading it though as it has a lot of useful information that, hopefully, no one will need but would be good to have in the back of your mind for those "just in case" emergencies。 。。。more

Super easy to follow directions for some practical (and some impractical) situations。 Probably the most useful is how to take punches and anything flying-related。 The ‘how to stop a plane heist’ was helpful too。

I was sent a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review。I have about 6 books in this series。 I adore it。 The update gives information about hackers and possibly murderous clowns in addition to getting away from a drone attack。This book is a quick, easy read and packed with tidbits I hope I'll never end up using。 I was sent a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review。I have about 6 books in this series。 I adore it。 The update gives information about hackers and possibly murderous clowns in addition to getting away from a drone attack。This book is a quick, easy read and packed with tidbits I hope I'll never end up using。 。。。more
