I really wish I had enough time to read all the volumes in one day。 Great story so far still。

The case of Gesicht and the forgotten memory。Although this volumes does have information on Pluto (as well as new sacrifices made along the way) this volume is primarily about Detective Gesicht as he deals with the reality that the man he was sent to protect is not only the brother of the man he killed in connection to a past case but is a member of a robot hate group。 In the mean time he also has to investigate new leads discovered while on duty but will he be able to handle the emotions that s The case of Gesicht and the forgotten memory。Although this volumes does have information on Pluto (as well as new sacrifices made along the way) this volume is primarily about Detective Gesicht as he deals with the reality that the man he was sent to protect is not only the brother of the man he killed in connection to a past case but is a member of a robot hate group。 In the mean time he also has to investigate new leads discovered while on duty but will he be able to handle the emotions that suddenly seize him now and then? Also Dr。 Tenma makes a return to the story with the defeat of Atom in the last volume and attempts to revive the boy bot but something is wrong and being similar and it might require more extreme methods to bring him back。 Even worse he might not come back as before but as a monster as bad or worse then even Pluto。Also of note I still find the occasional addition of color for the field of flower art to be refreshing and I understand they can't do it every time but this time it seemed strangely out of place in this book not that I mind。 Maybe it is foreshadowing to something big down the line。 。。。more

This volume dealt with emotions。 Whether robots are capable of feeling any emotions or not。 How the robots showcase anger, hatred and sadness made me question whether robots created by human beings, are they more human than normal human? Its always fascinating to see the idea of robots with intelligent mind displayed human behaviours and how they respond to their environment by processing the situation around them especially Atom, a highly intelligent robot。 The aftereffect of wars destroyed both human and robots。 There are grief and PTSD represented in here so delicately and we see the trauma from the robot's perspective and its so relatable that it hurts。 Abominable crimes were commited against the robots and this angered me a lot because this happened to human too and the fact that robot were targeted the same way too showed how horrible humans can be。 。。。more

Mainly focusing on Gesicht, this volume had a less interesting exploration of ideas and focused more on robots' ability to hate。 Still, I'm enjoying the series a lot and I'm definitely going to continue reading。 Mainly focusing on Gesicht, this volume had a less interesting exploration of ideas and focused more on robots' ability to hate。 Still, I'm enjoying the series a lot and I'm definitely going to continue reading。 。。。more

So is Atom really dead because if he is what are the scenes of him eating? Flashbacks? Who is tobio?

Hercules is dead。 Tenma is trying to revive Atom。 We get a lot of Gesicht's back story。 Yeah。 I was really moved by Uran and Pluto's histories and also Gesicht's noble saving of Haas。 A lot of this feels very much like an information dump a lot of the times I don't know。 It's very good tho。 Hercules is dead。 Tenma is trying to revive Atom。 We get a lot of Gesicht's back story。 Yeah。 I was really moved by Uran and Pluto's histories and also Gesicht's noble saving of Haas。 A lot of this feels very much like an information dump a lot of the times I don't know。 It's very good tho。 。。。more

The stakes are quite high! I still miss Atom。 There is some excellent writing on this volume, truly of quality。

I doubt I'd finish this if I didn't get the entire series for cheap, but since I have them, I'll read it all。 There are a lot of good reviews here so it's just not my taste, I guess。 It really should be though, because it's in the future, has robots, overdeveloped cities, and philosophical musings on technology。 That's all I need。 Comics are cool because if the story stinks, maybe the art is great, or vice versa。 Both is even better。 With those guidelines, I've yet to be let down, and generally I doubt I'd finish this if I didn't get the entire series for cheap, but since I have them, I'll read it all。 There are a lot of good reviews here so it's just not my taste, I guess。 It really should be though, because it's in the future, has robots, overdeveloped cities, and philosophical musings on technology。 That's all I need。 Comics are cool because if the story stinks, maybe the art is great, or vice versa。 Both is even better。 With those guidelines, I've yet to be let down, and generally have low expectations with comics anyway。 That said, I realize I prefer it when the book is kind of a mess in some aspect。This is like if Transformers was a David Fincher film。 Both of those movies are directed within an inch of their lives, and very tidy。 Every character says and does exactly what you think they will, and the plot moves in such a way that you know how the book will end before you're there。 I miss the world of the first volume, when we spent half the book with an eccentric composer who couldn't get his groove back, and his robot butler, who used to be a weapon of mass destruction。 That was so weird, but surprising, and they have since mostly quit character development, and everyone is a symbol in service of the plot。 The latter is usually cool with me。 I dig broad strokes and allegory。 But at the core this is a retelling of a midcentury comic book that the original author has admitted several times wasn't his favorite work, and 'Pluto', while probably a great exercise in process for Naoki Urasawa, just comes off a little dry。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This series is brilliant, it has perfect flow which makes it such an incredible read。 The plot is amazing and it builds up with every volume in a way that is significant。 The reader knows that every detail is important and in every volume you find that detail which connects a piece of the puzzel。 Gesicht is also becoming more three dimensional as we find out about a case in his past that is intense, and had Gesicht been a human no one would have cared anywhere close to as much as they do now tha This series is brilliant, it has perfect flow which makes it such an incredible read。 The plot is amazing and it builds up with every volume in a way that is significant。 The reader knows that every detail is important and in every volume you find that detail which connects a piece of the puzzel。 Gesicht is also becoming more three dimensional as we find out about a case in his past that is intense, and had Gesicht been a human no one would have cared anywhere close to as much as they do now that he's a robot。 。。。more

The saga races on with complex plots, beautiful artwork and characters (human and robot) that are so well drawn that you can’t tell who you should be rooting for。
