Summary

In the latest novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series, homicide detective Eve Dallas sifts through the wreckage of the past to find a killer。

The body was left in a dumpster like so much trash, the victim a woman of no fixed address, known for offering paper flowers in return for spare change—and for keeping the cops informed of any infractions she witnessed on the street。 But the notebook where she scribbled her intel on litterers and other such offenders is nowhere to be found。

Then Eve is summoned away to a nearby building site to view more remains—in this case decades old, adorned with gold jewelry and fine clothing—unearthed by recent construction work。 She isn’t happy when she realizes that the scene of the crime belongs to her husband, Roarke—not that it should surprise her, since the Irish billionaire owns a good chunk of New York。 Now Eve must enter a complex world of real estate development, family history, shady deals, and shocking secrets to find justice for two women whose lives were thrown away…

It's always a pleasure when a new In Death book is released to join this amazingly successful series! 53 full-length best-selling books in the series is quite an accomplishment。 I look forward to spending time with Lt。 Eve Dallas, Roarke, Peabody, and all the regular cast every spring & fall。This one was particularly good with Eve and Peabody being called to the dump site of a murdered homeless woman。 While there, another body is discovered just a short distance away at one of Roarke's construct It's always a pleasure when a new In Death book is released to join this amazingly successful series! 53 full-length best-selling books in the series is quite an accomplishment。 I look forward to spending time with Lt。 Eve Dallas, Roarke, Peabody, and all the regular cast every spring & fall。This one was particularly good with Eve and Peabody being called to the dump site of a murdered homeless woman。 While there, another body is discovered just a short distance away at one of Roarke's construction sites。 Only this time the body has been buried for many years as bones are all that's left of the victim。 A woman - because the skeleton of her unborn child is also revealed。Solving both the present-day and past murders present a major challenge to Eve and her team in this book but justice will be served。 。。。more

Number 53 in this iconic series, and I haven't missed a single book yet。 I love this series, I love Eve, i love Roarke, and I love Nora Roberts。 This was not the strongest book in the series but still a satisfying read。 Number 53 in this iconic series, and I haven't missed a single book yet。 I love this series, I love Eve, i love Roarke, and I love Nora Roberts。 This was not the strongest book in the series but still a satisfying read。 。。。more

I love this series。。 Love Eve and Roarke, Peabody and McNab, and many of the other characters。 Well written, thought out plot, lovely interactions between the main characters and their friends, tense moments with the villains etc。

I like all her books。📙 This one had several layers that needed solving at the same time。 It was a little different than some of her other books though, it really just dealt with the murders and we didn’t see any of the other side characters we usually do。 ❤️❤️❤️📙

One of the best books of the series I have ever read。 Two different mysteries on this story that kept me up past midnight。

A fun romp as everAs usual thoroughly enjoyable。 Really enjoyed this chapter in the Dallas and Roadie journey。 Missed a couple of the cast, hopefully they will get front and centre in the next book。

It was ok but cliched。 Probably won't read more from this series as it isn't my type of fiction but it was fun to try。 It was ok but cliched。 Probably won't read more from this series as it isn't my type of fiction but it was fun to try。 。。。more

I love this series - they never disappoint。 The murders are interesting。 The tech is creative。

One of the better ones with surprises。 Not too much Rourke。

I love this series but this one had difficulty keeping my interest。 I persevered and it did improve about half way through but was still slow moving and failed to ever capture my full attention。 I found there to be too much seemingly irrelevant detail about minor characters that I skimmed over and this made it hard to engage with the storyline。

Listend to audio narrated well by Susan Ericksen。 I'm glad she's still committed to narrating this series, the voices she gives each character make it feel like visiting old friends。A homeless woman is found dead in a dumpster near a construction site of one of Roarke's competitors and another is found in the walls of a rehab project Roarke owns。 Dallas, Peabody and the crew must solve the current murder as well as a murder that took place thirty-eight years ago。 It hits hard when they discover Listend to audio narrated well by Susan Ericksen。 I'm glad she's still committed to narrating this series, the voices she gives each character make it feel like visiting old friends。A homeless woman is found dead in a dumpster near a construction site of one of Roarke's competitors and another is found in the walls of a rehab project Roarke owns。 Dallas, Peabody and the crew must solve the current murder as well as a murder that took place thirty-eight years ago。 It hits hard when they discover a dead young woman was pregnant, with a viable fetus。The story gets a bit twisty but I think most will be able to call at least one of the murders early on。 The 'In Death' formula still works, in this latest installment。For more of my reviews follow my blog at https://wyldheartreads。wordpress。com/If you prefer to listen to my reviews, you can find my reviews on Spotify here: https://anchor。fm/wyldheart-reads 。。。more

Great easy read! Thankful for the authors work ethic I producing so many books in this series!Eve is juggling two and then three cases。 Are they related? First a homeless woman is killed and then they find bones at a nearby construction site。 There’s more to each story and Eve starts digging with the help of her wonderful rogue hubby and freeager partner Peabody!Really interesting characters we hadn’t met before。 Cool storylines。 Moves at a good pace。 I enjoyed this ride immensely! Three bodies, two as skeletons。Dallas, Lt。 Eve solves the new mystery of the new kill, and the death of the 2 skeletons。This is not an easy story, as two of the deaths are women and one a baby who would have been the killer's great-grandchild。 Ah, bigotry, even in the future。A very good read。 Three bodies, two as skeletons。Dallas, Lt。 Eve solves the new mystery of the new kill, and the death of the 2 skeletons。This is not an easy story, as two of the deaths are women and one a baby who would have been the killer's great-grandchild。 Ah, bigotry, even in the future。A very good read。 。。。more

This the latest in a long series and I have read a few of them。 The standard characters were in the story that as always takes place in the future。 Plot was well developed and interesting and kept you guessing and that is a good thing for a novel and of course free from the local public library

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 A good addition to this series。Dallas has been called to a construction site where a sidewalk sleeper's body has been found。 While there, she is called to another construction site nearby (Rourke's of course), where there are the walled skeletal remains of a woman and a fetus。So, now Dallas has two cases, the current one and one approximately 40 years old, which brings in Dr。 DeWinter and her staff。The sidewalk sleeper was well known by the construction crew and the local police, she was friendl A good addition to this series。Dallas has been called to a construction site where a sidewalk sleeper's body has been found。 While there, she is called to another construction site nearby (Rourke's of course), where there are the walled skeletal remains of a woman and a fetus。So, now Dallas has two cases, the current one and one approximately 40 years old, which brings in Dr。 DeWinter and her staff。The sidewalk sleeper was well known by the construction crew and the local police, she was friendly, offering origami flowers and animals to friendly, law-abiding people and took notes on unfriendly, law-breaking individuals, whom she reported。 The fact that her reporting book is missing, leads them to presume she caught someone in the act and was killed because of it。 So who and what did she catch them doing? The second case is harder, they have to identify when and who (hopefully the when will assist in the identification of a missing person) and of course DeWinter and her team will put a face to the remains。 And once they have more info Dallas, Rourke, Peabody, et al will be able to solve this crime as well。 。。。more

I was worried when I read the description, as both the idea of a homeless woman who gives away paper flowers and bodies in the wall of a building Roarke owns have been done in this series。 But it was very enjoyable, didn't feel like a rehash of previous books, and I liked having three separate story lines to follow - they all held my interest。 This book focused on Eve, Peabody and Roarke with some Mira and Rio thrown in, and I appreciated that the author didn't try to fit in everyone who's ever I was worried when I read the description, as both the idea of a homeless woman who gives away paper flowers and bodies in the wall of a building Roarke owns have been done in this series。 But it was very enjoyable, didn't feel like a rehash of previous books, and I liked having three separate story lines to follow - they all held my interest。 This book focused on Eve, Peabody and Roarke with some Mira and Rio thrown in, and I appreciated that the author didn't try to fit in everyone who's ever been in the series。 Plus, they sounded and acted like they should, so I was happy there。 (No personality suppression pills in this book。 lol) I also prefer the books that aren't too gruesome。 (view spoiler)[It was easy to skim the brief abuse sections。 I don't need the details to be horrified at abuse。 (hide spoiler)] All in all this addition to the series is very welcome, and I'm looking forward to the new release in a few weeks。NB - I listened to the audiobook。 Excellent as always! 。。。more

These were sad crimes all around, so we needed the lightness of a retired Russian crime boss and the new house details。 Because whoa, between the battered wife and the killed mother, these were some bleak page turners。 I honestly did not want to read some of it。 Some brought back bad memories, some just made me cry。 I really would love to see more of Bardov in the series。 He just strikes me as a really interesting guy。 Also, it’s always lovely seeing Nadine and Kincaid together。 When is Reo gonn These were sad crimes all around, so we needed the lightness of a retired Russian crime boss and the new house details。 Because whoa, between the battered wife and the killed mother, these were some bleak page turners。 I honestly did not want to read some of it。 Some brought back bad memories, some just made me cry。 I really would love to see more of Bardov in the series。 He just strikes me as a really interesting guy。 Also, it’s always lovely seeing Nadine and Kincaid together。 When is Reo gonna get a man? 。。。more
