This series was something, I just can’t believe it’s over。 I had a feeling we would have this end but I didn’t want to believe it。 I’m just feeling so lost like I’m in a void。

This was such an interesting and emotional series。 I never quite knew what to trust but it kept me invested from start to finish。Now that’s it’s over I’m just blown away with feelings about it。 This conclusion hurt but I don’t regret going on it’s journey at all。

Pensieri sparsi:Che viaggio!

wow…just wow i wanted to write some big eloquent review about this manga but i’m emotionally wrecked。 let me just say volume 45 finishes the entire saga so well but is so heartbreakingly sad at the same time。 isayama has truly created a work of art and a timeless, complicated, yet at it’s core so simple, story of love, sacrifice, trauma and the ramifications of that, death and coming out of all of it, hope in the face of such horrible, life changing events。 this series was already a favourite be wow…just wow i wanted to write some big eloquent review about this manga but i’m emotionally wrecked。 let me just say volume 45 finishes the entire saga so well but is so heartbreakingly sad at the same time。 isayama has truly created a work of art and a timeless, complicated, yet at it’s core so simple, story of love, sacrifice, trauma and the ramifications of that, death and coming out of all of it, hope in the face of such horrible, life changing events。 this series was already a favourite before i even began reading the manga (i already watched the whole anime before i started reading it), but i thought because season 4 part 2 is going to be released soon i’m gonna read the entire manga series to recap on what happened but also to really remember the story。 and i’m glad i did。 also kinda not glad because now i’m emotionally destroyed but yeah… would definitely recommend this series to anyone it is amazing! 。。。more

The reason I loved this manga was because of the way it stood out from the other mangas。 The story was well woven, layered, metaphorical。 The world was mysterious, the characters intriguing。 There was a point when I finished almost a hundred chapters in the span of a few days。 So, when the manga was nearing its end, I was also getting sentimental thinking about how I spent hours discussing this manga with my friends, how we waited years to see the second season of its anime adaptation, how it be The reason I loved this manga was because of the way it stood out from the other mangas。 The story was well woven, layered, metaphorical。 The world was mysterious, the characters intriguing。 There was a point when I finished almost a hundred chapters in the span of a few days。 So, when the manga was nearing its end, I was also getting sentimental thinking about how I spent hours discussing this manga with my friends, how we waited years to see the second season of its anime adaptation, how it became a cult classic in a short amount of time。 But at the same time, I was also afraid that the ending portion might be disappointed and that fear proved to be true。 Definitely underwhelming for a manga that created so much sensation throughout its running。 Still, thank you Isayama sensei for giving us this masterpiece that is going to be relevant and enjoyable even a hundred years from now。 。。。more

Finally finished the last volume! It took me a long while to get through because, although a lot of it was quiet interesting, there were some parts where I had to force myself to keep reading (being that I had a lot of mixed emotions throughout the volume)。 Isayama took me on a whirlwind, has created very complex characters and overall decent story plot。 I’m happy with some parts of the ending, while other parts seemed a bit rushed and not fit well with previous established themes。 Overall, I th Finally finished the last volume! Eron was the bad guy after all! But now all the titans are gone。

I read the series to completion but didn't want to add each volume to my Goodreads' Read section。 Felt too tedious。 I felt really torn from giving this a 3 or 4 star。 Settled on 4。 The ending reminded me of the disappointed and rushed job of the last season of Game of Thrones。 There were some good moments, but a lot of moments I felt needed a couple of chapters to flesh out。 It seemed the author wanted to get his story over with。 I still love Attack on Titan as a whole。 I might reread it after t I read the series to completion but didn't want to add each volume to my Goodreads' Read section。 Felt too tedious。 I felt really torn from giving this a 3 or 4 star。 Settled on 4。 The ending reminded me of the disappointed and rushed job of the last season of Game of Thrones。 There were some good moments, but a lot of moments I felt needed a couple of chapters to flesh out。 It seemed the author wanted to get his story over with。 I still love Attack on Titan as a whole。 I might reread it after the ending's revelation to search for all the clues leading up to the finale。 。。。more

I think this is as good an ending as we could have expected based on the last few volumes of the series。 It isn't quite as thrilling as I expected a last stand to be and to be honest, the volumes come far enough apart that I lose track of some of the characters and the finer points of the politics and relationships。 I might look more kindly on this if I binged it all at once or was more immersed in the world-building。 I think this is as good an ending as we could have expected based on the last few volumes of the series。 It isn't quite as thrilling as I expected a last stand to be and to be honest, the volumes come far enough apart that I lose track of some of the characters and the finer points of the politics and relationships。 I might look more kindly on this if I binged it all at once or was more immersed in the world-building。 。。。more

I wanted to finish the entire series before attempting to review it and with the final season coming out this weekend, there was no better time to do so。This was such a fascinating critique of prejudice, nationalism, fascism, and the cycle of war。 SNK was a masterpiece from start to finish and each chapter since the Return to Shiganshina arc has superseded its predecessor。 Isayama is a fantastic writer and these final chapters delivered an incredibly satisfying, albeit bittersweet ending。 (view I wanted to finish the entire series before attempting to review it and with the final season coming out this weekend, there was no better time to do so。This was such a fascinating critique of prejudice, nationalism, fascism, and the cycle of war。 SNK was a masterpiece from start to finish and each chapter since the Return to Shiganshina arc has superseded its predecessor。 Isayama is a fantastic writer and these final chapters delivered an incredibly satisfying, albeit bittersweet ending。 (view spoiler)[ Ultimately, Eren achieved his very first goal of freeing Shiganshina without it compromising the larger message of the series。 (hide spoiler)]In regards to Chapter 139 in particular, (view spoiler)[ it was very nice to see closure for Eren and Mikasa's relationship and the Shiganshina trio。 I'm glad Eren didn't die as a complete stranger to Armin and that there was closure between not only them, but also between Eren and the rest of his friends。 Although my main critique towards the ending is that after recovering their memories, everybody still appeared a little too fine with Eren's attempted genocide。 I also wish the romance between Eren and Mikasa had been a little bit more developed on Eren's end throughout the series given how central it ended up being towards the whole plot, but I also understand the constraints of the shonen genre。 Perhaps, if I were to read the series as a whole from beginning to end again, in one go, I would feel differently about the pacing of the romance too。 (hide spoiler)]Overall, this was a fulfilling ending。 And I'm glad that while (view spoiler)[ Eren broke the Titan Curse, (hide spoiler)] it didn't compromise the point of the series。 It still conveyed the message that the cycle of hatred will persist if people don't learn from their mistakes and that titans or no titans, Eren can't solve human wars。 。。。more

ENORMOUS SPOILERS AHEAD Reading this gave me so many intense conflicting emotions that it took me multiple weeks to sort out my emotions (which in all honesty, I'm still doing。 I'm literally crying as I write this) so that I could even start writing this review。 I'd like to start out by saying that Hajime Isayama did an amazing job with this series。 I once read that a good book is one that you'll think about for the rest of your life, and I think Attack on Titan will be that series for me。 I ha ENORMOUS SPOILERS AHEAD Reading this gave me so many intense conflicting emotions that it took me multiple weeks to sort out my emotions (which in all honesty, I'm still doing。 I'm literally crying as I write this) so that I could even start writing this review。 I'd like to start out by saying that Hajime Isayama did an amazing job with this series。 I once read that a good book is one that you'll think about for the rest of your life, and I think Attack on Titan will be that series for me。 I have so many things to say but I want to focus on Eren Jeager。 As an aspiring author, my life goal is to create a character even half as complex or well written。 Anyone reading this review who knows me in person is probably rolling their eyes right now because of the number of times I've said that but it's true。 I could talk for hours about how much I absolutely adore Isayama for the way Eren was written but lucky for you, I don't have the time。 I started watching Attack on Titan almost a year ago and started reading at around the same time。 After spending so much time reading and watching his story, Eren became very important to me。 Sometimes watching his happier moments was the only thing that could comfort me。 After the time skip, I kept coming up with excuses for him because I refused to admit that he was really a bad person。 After the Rumbling I relentlessly searched for anything that could redeem him。 I even managed to repress certain panels so that when I analyzed the last volumes I would think of it in a way that glorifies Eren。 After hearing some hard truths, I finally accepted that he started the rumbling, not knowing if he'd be defeated so that he could live out his own twisted fantasy of freedom。 Even now, I struggle with giving him any blame。 I find myself jumping to his defense time and time again because I refuse to admit that the boy I watched grow up, who I became hopelessly attached to, is, and always has been, a monster。 That in my opinion is the true beauty in Eren Jeager。 Not that we watched him turn into a villain, but that he was always this way and we chose to ignore it。 。。。more

This was so potently underwhelming omg。 How are characters who have devoted to their goals for YEARS so easily dissuaded in the last few moments of their plans?! Why is this a thing that happens in fiction?! At least no one got married to each other, thank God。 There are only like two women left in the main cast, and everyone else is a man, so that is probably why。 But still nice。It's just。。。 ugh。 So disappointing! This was amazing。 So well written。 I have bought the manga and have re-read it online a dozen times, and I still find mini things which I’ve missed and other philosophies which are portrayed in this volume。 Loved the ending very logical and well written。 20/10 I just wished more people read manga even if it is not their type of thing, because I feel like it would be a crime to not endlessly recommend this。I read this back when it came out but I didn’t log it。

(no spoilers)as far as i am concerned, this is a perfect ending to a perfect series。 attack on titan is, in my opinion, masterful story telling。 isayama has succeeded in making a series that makes you question your morals and the morals of characters。 it started as a simple story about man eating giants and ended as so much more。 i know there is a lot of discourse about the ending and i was shocked too but it is such an isayama ending and i think it makes so much sense after the story we've love (no spoilers)as far as i am concerned, this is a perfect ending to a perfect series。 attack on titan is, in my opinion, masterful story telling。 isayama has succeeded in making a series that makes you question your morals and the morals of characters。 it started as a simple story about man eating giants and ended as so much more。 i know there is a lot of discourse about the ending and i was shocked too but it is such an isayama ending and i think it makes so much sense after the story we've loved over all this time。 a great ending to a great series。 。。。more
